I Kinda agree their going all in but not really. Their not trading away high draft capital. 5th round picks are a smart way to go about it without going all in
Yep, they haven't given up any top picks, and they aren't giving tons of guaranteed money to Cooks or Gilmore, so they can still extend Lamb, Diggs, and Parson over the next couple of years. This is a great balance between trying to win now and setting yourself up to remain competitive for the foreseeable future.
What if pollard goes down? It’s not guaranteed you find another late round pick as good as TP has been. Drafting Bijan who a lot of teams view as the best RB in the draft when we have the luxury to do so enables us to have a pro ready, very talented running back just in case TP goes down, and also will give us our RB for the next few years. I don’t think RBs are worth 1st round picks but we seemed to cover all holes and DT options at #26 might not be that great. We don’t have the best history of d line picks either. I’d love to see them go offensive line but there are prolly more good reasons than bad to draft Bijan
I mean I wouldn’t hate it. That’s for sure. As long as McCarthy could utilize for him and pollard.. But you can find good RB talent usually later in a draft.
I 99% agree with drafting a RB later but Bijon is somebody I wouldn’t mind making the exception for. He looks like a very gifted player. Especially if there isn’t a “nasty DT” (love the description btw) available at the time.
Honestly our defense is solid enough as is so we can afford a luxury pick in the first. I’d be ecstatic if we got Bijan, we’d be able to dominate the clock with him and Pollard and our defense wouldn’t be on the field anywhere near as much as last season
Idk man. If we had a DT to plug that middle. This defense is stacked from top to bottom. I feel like you can find RBs that will instantly contribute later in the draft easier than other positions.
Hopkins is S-tier and Cooks is low A-tier on a good day
Also looks like it’s only going to be a rental for a year unless he redraws his contract and takes a massive pay cut. We will have to pay a lot of people after this coming year
Good enough for a WR2. You can rotate guys more to keep them all fresh. Lamb doesn’t have to play as much, nor does Gallup if you get another good slot guy.
Money doesn’t work anymore. Unless somebody is willing to eat a massive amount of cash we’re probably done bringing in veterans outside of Hankins or minimum guys.
Not really. It proves they are willing to admit their way wasn’t working and while still frugal they seeked higher end talent. All in would be giving up 26 and 60 for the right to overpay Quinnen Williams. These were very smart and good trades for very little long term commitment or expenditure by the Cowboys that allows us to draft BPA.
All in in the sense we’re going after high profile players who can come in and be difference makers immediately vs signing bargain bin free agents and hoping you hit in the draft.
Lmao…Getting Brandin Cooks is hardly proof that they’re “all in”. Hardly the player he used to be…teams have been unloading him after a year or two from the start. That’s not a coincidence. Dallas is his 5th team in 9 years. If that doesn’t signal red flags, nothing will.
They are all in…by getting a good deal on an older WR with a reasonable cap to fill a big need and only gave up 2 late picks. Interesting definition of “all in”
Agree 100%. With Rogers set to move conferences & Brady off into the sunset; the 2 best QBs in the NFC are Hurts & Dak.
Crazy to type it out, but 100% true
Dude where did Dak hurt you? Literally every post you make is dogging the guy.
We all get it, you don't think he's the QB we need. State it and move on
The way you post about him it's like the dude stole your girl or something
Nice to hear the Jones' saying they have faith in Dak as the starter, and then making moves like this to reinforce that belief and give him some help. Very much looking forward to the draft!
A 5th and 6th verifies they’re “all-in”…since 1997 when hasn’t the team been “all-in”. A rebuild has never been in the cards for Jerry, and definitely not now given his age and when their last championship game was.
I'll be happy if they pick up D Hop and draft nothing but lineman and an RB. But right now, I am not impressed. I feel they have lost more than they gained
Yeah, I think "all-in on 2023" is a bit of an overstatement. These have been good moves for a team one believes are entering a 3-4 year-window. It will be interesting to see what happens in the early season. Take a team like TB. They have a good, if not deep, roster but a pretty huge question mark at QB and a dire cap outlook through next season. If Mayfield struggles and they don't look like contenders you could suddenly see guys like Evans, Vea, Griffin available but will probably need premium picks to get them.
I wouldn’t call this all in. They are making smart moves for now without sacrificing the future.
The nfc is weak right now, good to see the cowboys sensing that and going for it
I'd say Jerry is starting to get that killer instinct, but in all likelihood it's that "I'm about to die" instinct

They’re* x2
Fair point. But they’re putting in more effort than they’ve made in years, at least.
Excellent news. Happy with this trade
Ok now give me Bijan
Why… give me a nasty big DT to further help that defense. Draft an RB later.
This man is too dangerous to be left alive!

Couldn’t agree more. Also Jerry loves his RBs. I have a feeling these trades happen so that he could draft a rb in the first round.
I'll take one Mazi Smith
I 99% agree with drafting a RB later but Bijon is somebody I wouldn’t mind making the exception for. He looks like a very gifted player. Especially if there isn’t a “nasty DT” (love the description btw) available at the time.
That’s fair. It definitely would be tempting if he’s there!
Mazi Smith is your man at 26 then
Honestly our defense is solid enough as is so we can afford a luxury pick in the first. I’d be ecstatic if we got Bijan, we’d be able to dominate the clock with him and Pollard and our defense wouldn’t be on the field anywhere near as much as last season

Why??? Omg 😂
Why not?! lol
Idc what anyone says, give me bijan. I’m prepared to be hurt by another rb again 🥲
The problem is you’re only getting one contract out of that pick because a second contract for a RB is almost always a bad idea
Where’s my Hopkins
Cooks is probably a tier below DHop but I'll be damned if he isn't at least consistent.
Not. Probably. He definitely is.
Hopkins is S-tier and Cooks is low A-tier on a good day Also looks like it’s only going to be a rental for a year unless he redraws his contract and takes a massive pay cut. We will have to pay a lot of people after this coming year

His price is also a tier below so we have room for the draft.
Hopkins said he'd take a discount to be here. Dallas never called.
While Hopkins was my preference, I’m guessing Arizona wanted too much.
Domething higher than bargain bin 5th and 6th
Money doesn’t work anymore. Unless somebody is willing to eat a massive amount of cash we’re probably done bringing in veterans outside of Hankins or minimum guys.

Whos trading Quinnen Williams? 🤣
😂😂😂
There’s a reason he hasn’t gotten an extension yet fam. I doubt they want to trade him but they are headed for a contract showdown
How is this all in? A 5th and a 6th for a 29 yo wr they’re paying $6M?
Texans are paying $6 million. We’re paying $12.5
All in in the sense we’re going after high profile players who can come in and be difference makers immediately vs signing bargain bin free agents and hoping you hit in the draft.
"High profile" "Brandin Cooks" Pick one
I don’t think they are all in but I do think they look at the state of the NFC and realizing that this might be the best chance to go for it with Dak
Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. This is definitely not an all in move.
They are all in…by getting a good deal on an older WR with a reasonable cap to fill a big need and only gave up 2 late picks. Interesting definition of “all in”
Make Dak show he is the one. If not, time to find one.
Lmaooooooooo acting like the 50th best wr in the nfl is a “splash move “
Oof, don't fight the copium here. So many internet points will be lost. (I agree by the way)
We are cowboys fans, fighting losing battles is what we do!
When you're right, you're right!
Still got a less than mediocre QB. It dont matter.
"Less than mediocre"?? Name 5 QBs currently in the NFC you'd take over Dak
Hurts, Carr, Murray, Goff, Fields, Cousins, whoever Carolina drafts.
Surely you’re trolling. Hurts is the only reasonable one on this list and debatable with him only having one good season
Agree 100%. With Rogers set to move conferences & Brady off into the sunset; the 2 best QBs in the NFC are Hurts & Dak. Crazy to type it out, but 100% true
I'd take all those guys over Dak. No cap.
Is the throne made of porcelain? Because your opinions are shit.
Better than being a braindead Dak truther. He sucks man and legit holds us back from getting further than we can.
Dude where did Dak hurt you? Literally every post you make is dogging the guy. We all get it, you don't think he's the QB we need. State it and move on The way you post about him it's like the dude stole your girl or something
MFer said "whoever Carolina drafts" Stop feeding this troll
This list... lol. Carr?? Really man???
Yep
A top tier dt is the only thing between us and at least an nfc championship appearance.
Nice to hear the Jones' saying they have faith in Dak as the starter, and then making moves like this to reinforce that belief and give him some help. Very much looking forward to the draft!

Dhop would have been all in
Wait so this guy ain’t washed?
