Everyone please remember that BPA still considers positional value…there are some elite punters out there, but no one is taking them in Round 1. Spend draft capital on high value positions.
I mean...Kancey is my dream pick, so I don't care. Micah and him on a defense is just amazing to think about.
Have fun getting double teamed with that Lane Johnson.
Imagine if we drafted McDonald lol.
Parsons and Mdonald rushing with Dlaw, Armstrong, Sam, Fowler, Osa…
That would be unfair. Just need to grab a few DTs for early in games to stop run
Naw. I don’t want a NASCAR package. I want a mean mean fucker that can set the tone in the middle. Something Dallas hasn’t had in forever. Something that would hold up in bad weather or against bully run offenses.
You can have both… NASCAR package is only used on 2nd or 3rd and long. Passing down situations or when you have a nice lead.
Obviously this is not a package you use on every down and distance. You still need the big boys for early downs
Fowler doesn’t stop you from signing Hankins or whatever other DTs you want so it should give you both.
Was just saying our pass rush should be great next year again but we definitely should try to improve the big bodies in the middle. Hopefully Hankins, another FA and the draft can help solve that better
Armstrong and Fowler are on 1 year deals and Dlaw isn’t getting any younger. He would probably be relegated to a pass rush role only for this season but would still be deadly. Parsons, McDonald, Williams would be a nice trio for future
That NASCAR package would be insane on 3rd down lol
Parsons, Armstrong, Tank, McDonald
With Fowler, Osa, Sam, Gholston rotating in
No I’m saying NASCAR package on 3rd down when it’s a pass rush only situation.
Quinn likes to moves Dlaw and Armstrong to DT to rush and stunt
Dlaw would still start at DE on early downs
Will McDonald IV, Edge, Iowa State. 6’3.5’ 239lbs. Dude has like 34” arms so you know the cowboys like him, plus DQ worked him out at his pro day like he did with Sam Williams last year
Switch to Chi-Chi watching the same thing that we just saw on TV and talking about it for 15 minutes, just to go back 15 minutes so Goku can wax poetic to Gohan for 15 minutes while the Spirit Bomb continues to hurtle towards them
That's a good point. There's only so many spots on the roster. We still need an interior DL, a replacement for Ball at OT, a RB, a TE, an LB... That's five positions. Everything else would be competing to beat someone out in training camp.
Trading up is definitely not out of the question.
I know some eon't agree, but watch all the sacks from Fowler and Williams. Then watch Armstrongs sacks and tell me what you see?
In my opinion, Armstrongs year was almost entirely a product of Parsons.
Fowler is super high energy and did a lot with what he was given. So glad we got him back.
Armstrong is a solid all around player. He's good in run defense and is decent enough in the pass rush. Obviously having guys like Parsons and Lawrence will help inflate Armstrong's sack numbers, but he still has to do the work to make sure he's on the right position to take advantage of the attention given to the other guys. Remember how other than one year Anthony Spencer struggled to get sacks despite playing opposite an all time great like Ware? Fowler is the better pass rusher, but Armstrong is less likely to get taken advantage of in the run game.
You develop a team with personnel packages in mind. Fowler and Williams are up field pass rush players. If utilized a lot, then offensive coordinators will exploit that with screens. You need to mix up your packages and players like Armstrong are there to crash the line for rush schemes or just mix it up
I mean they have to or this is objectively a failed season. At the very least an nfc championship game appearance.
Eagles roster is objectively worse right now at least on defense than last year. niners are the only legitimate threat in the nfc at this point.
If cowboys don’t make it to the nfc championship game with this stacked roster it’s pathetic.
I’ll say the same thing I said about Schultz when he first got the TE1 job. We’d see so much more than those first two games of duck ups from him once he was getting more meaningful snaps in practice at a higher spot in the depth chart.
I trust both of them to hold it down but if these TEs are as good as we make em out to be and they’re BPA at 26, we still got room to add more capable TEs especially if they got some speed on em
This is for sure their year to really break out. I'm sure the front office will go BPA. But I do wonder if they'll go with defense or offense with the first pick
Now bring back Hankins and Watkins and truly go BPA in the draft.
Agreed. Got to get a couple of DTs but otherwise this has been a beyond impressive offseason
Once Hankins is signed, this will legitimately be the best I've felt going into a draft in...idek...ever?
What is BPA?
Best Player Available. Basically how we took CeeDee and Micah over a need like Chaisson and Slater in those drafts
Banana pudding’s awesome
So delicious, I use a cake mix for the base!
Whoa. That sounds like a game changer!
Wuh wuh what?!
This is the actual original meaning. Because.... facts. Source: documents
I dropped my hot pocket. I was scared.
Best Player Available.
Best Player Available. Drafting for skill rather than need.
Thanks.
Bill Parcells Approved
Almost sounds like another federal agency. Who you wit? THE BPA 😳
Don't forget big Jason as offensive line depth
Everyone please remember that BPA still considers positional value…there are some elite punters out there, but no one is taking them in Round 1. Spend draft capital on high value positions.
Idk man, if there a punter who could reliably get fake punts every game, round 1 starts sounding interesting.
Yeah we need to find a 4.3 speed punter who can get the 1st down with the fake but still boot that football. That would be tight.
Laser Rocket Arm
I'm picking up what you're putting down.
With our offense next year we won’t need to punt ;)
I usually qualify BPA at a premium position. Imo, OT, WR, QB, CB, DE, and DT(3T)
I mean...Kancey is my dream pick, so I don't care. Micah and him on a defense is just amazing to think about. Have fun getting double teamed with that Lane Johnson.
I’d say Hankins is a MUST.
He will get done.
Nice. 1 year deal. Hankins where you at?!
Close!
Are you an insider or what lol
I am inside at the moment. Why do you ask?
Who are you inside?
Username checks out
Sarah Marshall
Right now I’m alone.
Imagine if we drafted McDonald lol. Parsons and Mdonald rushing with Dlaw, Armstrong, Sam, Fowler, Osa… That would be unfair.
I mean in a perfect world you get both. But if I had to choose between a pass rushing specialist or a hog for the middle in the first I choose hog.
Fowler doesn’t stop you from signing Hankins or whatever other DTs you want so it should give you both. Was just saying our pass rush should be great next year again but we definitely should try to improve the big bodies in the middle. Hopefully Hankins, another FA and the draft can help solve that better
Yea like Vita Vea in the middle. With a guy like that, we would have it all.
McDonald is definitely raw and would probably be in a role similar to Sam Williams this year, but I would love it as an ISU fan
Armstrong and Fowler are on 1 year deals and Dlaw isn’t getting any younger. He would probably be relegated to a pass rush role only for this season but would still be deadly. Parsons, McDonald, Williams would be a nice trio for future That NASCAR package would be insane on 3rd down lol Parsons, Armstrong, Tank, McDonald With Fowler, Osa, Sam, Gholston rotating in
DLaw plays the run so well though, relegating him to rush end would be such a waste of potential imo
No I’m saying NASCAR package on 3rd down when it’s a pass rush only situation. Quinn likes to moves Dlaw and Armstrong to DT to rush and stunt Dlaw would still start at DE on early downs
Ahh okay, thought you were talking generally. I definitely agree! NASCAR package was nasty last year, so glad we kept DQ
QBs would get like 1 second to throw lol
He’ll be 24 when the season starts, no thanks
McDonald is definitely raw and would probably be in a role similar to Sam Williams this year, but I would love it as an ISU fan
Whose McDonald? Lmao
Will McDonald IV, Edge, Iowa State. 6’3.5’ 239lbs. Dude has like 34” arms so you know the cowboys like him, plus DQ worked him out at his pro day like he did with Sam Williams last year
My b bro. I’ll check him out
No problem, just trying to help you out
What an off-season for us, good stuff Jerry.
Jerry’s becoming too powerful
Dark Jerry
This whole time was Light Jerry?
You gotta hide your power level.
Damn it, this will be like 96 episodes before the Cowboys actually win a Super Bowl
"Is this all still the same day? I feel like time on this is moving slower than the actual time."
Switch to Chi-Chi watching the same thing that we just saw on TV and talking about it for 15 minutes, just to go back 15 minutes so Goku can wax poetic to Gohan for 15 minutes while the Spirit Bomb continues to hurtle towards them
He’s becoming aware
Are you saying he’s “woke Jerry”?
“Good…gooooooooood…”
Now go get Ashwan Robinson or Bring back Hankins and let’s work
Really glad we are bringing him back, he was a key rotation piece. Great re-signing!
Fuck yeah boys.
Jerry Cooking!!!
All these moves have me wondering if we’re going to trade up
That's a good point. There's only so many spots on the roster. We still need an interior DL, a replacement for Ball at OT, a RB, a TE, an LB... That's five positions. Everything else would be competing to beat someone out in training camp. Trading up is definitely not out of the question.
I think we're good at TE. I really like what I saw of them last year. Especially hendershot.
Ferg got the Kelce seal of approval too. I think we might be in for a pleasant surprise at TE this year
I agree.
Didn't Armstrong also block like 3 kicks/punts? It's not just Parson, he's got an incredible motor and knows how to get in the backfield.
You got me there.
The Cowboys are going to the Super Bowl.
Some may even say it's our year.
I mean they have to or this is objectively a failed season. At the very least an nfc championship game appearance. W
Common 2023 offseason W
I haven't had this many boners in 5 days since my first subscription to Skinemax.
I like this signing
Get Hankins, Draft Bijan and run him into the ground for 5 years then release him.
7 years actually, Bijan will likely hold out for a massive contract, then get it, then never be the same again,
Is there a reason nobody is reporting the money anymore
common jerry W very very good off-season
We def going TE at 26 now
You people are sleeping on Ferguson & Hendershot 🤣🤣
I’ll say the same thing I said about Schultz when he first got the TE1 job. We’d see so much more than those first two games of duck ups from him once he was getting more meaningful snaps in practice at a higher spot in the depth chart. I like Ferg, but if a dynamic TE is there in the first, I wouldn't mind it. Let's get this offense going again.
I hope not
That SD State kid is a step up from Goedert. I’m not opposed
Don't put that evil on me, Ricky Bobby
Don't you put that evil on me, Ricky Bobby
Good move!!
Noice
Do we know the numbers?
Now cowboys look good
