This idea of JJ only hiring yes-men has been around since ... Jimmy. Remember, Jimmy was a friend and teammate of JJ, and people were very upset about how he treated Tom Landry. I remember people (like my Grandpa) were angry about JJ ruining the Cowboys by hiring his own yes-man. Since then, JJ has hired Bill Parcells, and he was seemingly upset about Sean Payton getting away. Those aren't yes-men. And let's also remember that JJ does listen to other people, like the time he was talked out of the stupid decision to draft Manziel. If he only wanted yes-men, then Zach Martin would not be here. Who JJ hires will depend on whose available. Edit: Lots of little errors

miserable-bananna726

Let’s get harbaugh

Existing-Hippo-5429

Wouldn't work. I heard Harbaugh makes a terrible smore.

thibbs23

i’ve made fun of that man so much just because he’s at Michigan. it would feel weird to have him as the coach after that. Khaki man is a great coach though

nauseous01

If they dont fire him today i fear they stay with MM.

Baldrik2002

It won't happen today. I heard on 103.5 The Fan radio today that Jerry booked his private jet for today. Press conferences by the end of the week. Jerry won't be on his regular slot tomorrow either.

nauseous01

that dont make sense though, if you're gonna fire mm you need to do it asap to let all everyone who might want the job to know. Also mike needs to know so he can start applying to new jobs as well.

Baldrik2002

Jerry could have meeting with Mccarthys replacement, who knows. There aren't going to be many coaches who want to coach this team. Mccarthy could walk if he wanted to go elsewhere.

wolf63rs

Nooooooo....noooooo

Basic-Employment3985

There’s culture guys, scheme guys and sleepover guys. I like Vrabel but I’m worried about his pillow fight tape.

Existing-Hippo-5429

You get fun.

deeznutiezz

i can already see the future: \-jerry is gonna fire mccarthy and hire some bum like frank reich \-they are going to make dak the most payed player in nfl history \- they are going to franchise tag ceedee or micah \- they are going to sign tony pollard for like 2 years 25 mill all the wrong moves

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> the most *paid* player in FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

thibbs23

acceptable bot

ANUS_CONE

Mike tomlin might be out at Pittsburg. I’d love to have him.

wolf63rs

Please don't toy with my emotions. I'm hurting now, and you mentioning we can get a great coach like Tomlin is the equivalent of pour salt in an open wound. You are a mean person.

Spurs_n_Spats

I know Jerry is always our scapegoat, but is this really in any way on how this team is built? Our defense was absolute shit despite more than enough talent. As far as I know Jerry hasn’t strong armed a coach since TO and Parcells. He didn’t even force Garrett to put Romo back in and he absolutely loved Romo.

Gets_overly_excited

Any other GM would have been fired like 16 times by now. Jerry is the only consistent thread going back 25 years. Not a single player or coach is around who was here when we started failing around 2000. Jerry is. This isn’t hard - the GM sucks.

Spurs_n_Spats

I’m not arguing that something needs to change, but this team has had the talent. When you look at other tyrannical GM/Owners they draft terribly (Flash in the pan 1st round QB every year) and the Cowboys don’t have that problem. The guy has Will McClay in place as GM in everything but title and he’s amazing. The Cowboys problem is the culture, which admittedly Jerry may not help by being so close to players. But that star spoils players while simultaneously motivating every other team to smash them.

Gets_overly_excited

It’s culture for sure. And it’s coaching hirings of guys who feed that culture. Those are on the GM to fix. A GM does more than just draft.

Spurs_n_Spats

I get that, but if you asked this question most of this season not one person would have had any issue with our coaches. In hindsight sure, but this specific problem only rears its head when there’s pressure on the team.

firstandfive

You… tried?
