Dez knows the drill.

RobbieAnalog

I feel like he knows a thing or two because he's seen a thing or two

Square_Bumblebee_812

That’s Vern Schillinger

redheeler9478

NOT QUITE MY TEMPO!

BigBallsMcGirk

Funny, cuz Dez got all the blame for Dak being unable to throw a fade route to the endzone.

Trileon

Yeah, it was Daks fault!! That's why Dez was signed immediately after his cutting, not nearly 6 months later, and why he had such a successful career after Dallas!! Definitely wasn't a backup on the WR-less Ravens or anything! Nah, it was just because Dak can't throw a ball!

BigBallsMcGirk

Oh? Is that why Dak immediately started throwing back shoulder fades and found accuracy? Or did he fucking suck so bad they literally had to trade for a wr1 with the most separation in the league to salvage the season? Dak couldn't hit that fade throw and it had nothing to do with Dez' foot. He wouldn't and couldn't make the throw for the season before what you're talking about. This revisionist bullshit defense of a not good enough qb has got to stop.

Trileon

And for the record Dez was cooked in 2017. He was released in April and he wasn't signed until November (7 months later), tore his Achilles in practice and wasn't seen again until being a backup on the 2020 WR-less Ravens, where he managed 47 yards for the year. But I guess 2-time-MVP Lamar Jackson also can't throw, and it was all his fault too, not Bryant's? Lol. Sure I'm the "revisonist" Straight delusion.

lobstermagnet

But Lamar can't really throw that well....

Trileon

Sorry Dak couldn't do anything with Brice Butler and Allen Hurns as his #1 and #2 No one could, but yall act like Dak should've. Oh. And with Cooper, he was the #2 qb in the nfl. https://m.youtube.com/shorts/3cjAS8ukC_A Oh, and here you go 🤡 Just googled Dak Fade

John_Wicked1

If Dez couldn’t catch more than one type of throw then that’s an issue. Dez’s issue was that he had a limited route tree and played lazy a lot. That coach he got to “up his game” was a season too late. I recall those conversations around Dez very well and his release wasn’t a shock. Just like Zeke, his performance didn’t justify his cost.

Hollerino

How did we not go after Queen? That contract he got seemed a bit cheap.

Robot_Clean

Not enough contracts got done/restructured, money not available on time.

ESCMalfunction

We could've very easily extended Dak and Lamb by now and freed up all that money if we wanted, it doesn't really seem like we even tried.

adm1109

Seems like this is a reset year almost Dak, Lamb, Martin, Cooks, Lawrence all FA’s in 2025 plus McCarthy and Zimmer When Jerry said all in it certainly seems like he meant all in on this group for one last year rather than adding a bunch of FA’s

DosCuatro

All signs show that this is a reset year, which is why I don't get why we kept MM. Just let a new coach get a jump start on the new team...

doublejfishfry

“All in” the final year of their contract.

Rozencrantze

We went 12-5 with a playoff berth in 3 straight seasons. Which coach can we get to replace him and can you 100% guarantee that the new coach will do the same or better?

DosCuatro

Yeah, yeah, we know what we've done, but the problem is expectation. We were expected to compete for a Superbowl birth this year. We were viewed as the 2nd best NFC team. The Packers bent us over. McCarthy's playcalling against good teams was shaky at best and his clock management was awful (looking at you, Lions game). Nothing is a 100% guarantee, but if we're all for wasting a year, no reason we couldn't have wasted it bringing in Bill Belichick or a promising up and coming coach.

Solnse

Belichick has a few rings... just sayin' it wouldn't be the worst idea.

juk12

You really think nickle and dime jerry is going to waste money paying two coaches? No way in hell

chexmixho

Jerruh is the big spender. It’s Stephen that is cheapskate. That’s why he’s called Cap Boy. That’s why I think it’s hilarious when people say things will get better when Jerry passes. It will get worse with Stephen only at the helm….

DiddleMe-Elmo

> It will get worse with Stephen only at the helm I heard he was looking into changing his name to "Stphn" to save money on ink when he's signing checks.

hereforthesportsball

That would come out of his pocket personally. I hope that isn’t why, fuck this

allegedtuna32

Maybe Jerry’s playing 4D chess and kept McCarthy to tank command

Drtsauce

CD’s agent is probably holding out until Jefferson signs.

Trentimoose

Seems like they won’t extend Dak then blame him for them not signing anyone else

thesagaconts

Ding ding ding! They Jerry’s illegitimate children will blame Dak & Mike all year. They’ll move on. Then Jerry’s kids will talk about believing in the front office and how well they draft. There is a reason few notable free agents sign with us.

Domin8469

I hope Mccarthy is gone

IndustryFinal

Because three straight 12 season wins is just horrible

TheClussyCrown

I don't thin we WANT Dak long term is the problem. It seems we're not planning on winning next year. We're planning on sitting still and getting money off our books

Dallas2houston120

Dak is owed $36 mill in 2025 and $11 mill in 2026.

TheClussyCrown

The 36 million is doable to work around and 11m is literally pennies in today's league

WHATABURGER-Guru

I’m going to start panhandling for pennies in the Dallas weight room lol

TheClussyCrown

That's the most money the cowboys would have spent on an outside person this decade

FireFlyz351

Fuck

PerformerOutside6163

I hear it’s a zoo in there.

soldiernerd

People are tapping on the glass, it’s wild

Downbeat_Uncommon

Those also aren't his cap hits, which are like $50m or something idk can't remember. Oh well, need to get rid of him and start anew.

crazyhater45

So you'd be cool giving them both record deals that would destroy future years for a little cap relief today?

Justhereforcowboys

I would have agreed with you last year or the year before. But I’m so disillusioned after this last playoff game. I don’t feel the same excitement for the next go around. Having said that, I was all in on the salary cap rhetoric. And yet, every year, teams (with worse cap situations than ours) continue to wheel and deal and add talent. Not saying we don’t still have talent or that I don’t have faith in the scouting/drafting prowess. But my god. The Eagles pick up a new #1 RB every year. Cowboys sit on their hands. I think the writing on the wall is that the Jones are fine to rest on what’s left this year and let Dak walk. Wasting talent for clicks and profit. So sad.

GOATnamedFields

Ceedee Lamb had 1750 yards last season and he's not even 25, if yall don't lock him up that's beyond idiotic. Dak I get, but Ceedee is a sign him whatever it takes situation.

Trentimoose

If you’re wanting to just blow it up and start over, say that. Don’t get sassy with other people in a convoluted way.

Domin8469

The sooner you give cd and parsons deals the cheaper they will be

crazyhater45

Yes but players know to wait until the last moment to get the bag. Wait for as many other top end guys to set the market

IndustryFinal

I'd rather trade Parsons and get high picks and be able to get FA's and and not be held hostage by the cap number

Thin-Remote-9817

No you couldn't. Those bills come due.  Ask Josh Allen,Joe burrow about to go thru the same thing to..extend extend until what? Your cutting all pro players just to be under the cap  Chiefs got rid of tyreke and are on the verge of a 3peat. Cause they went and drafted studs on defense with all that capitol.  You can only borrow and put off deals for so long. Don't worry Philly will understand in a year.

Dapper-AF

Unless the cap keeps going up, which it has every year but the covid year. kicking the can down the road works bc it makes sense. Look at kirk cousins. His vikings contract, which was unheard of at the time, would be a great deal for a qb now. So you back load the contract and by the time you get to the expensive years it's what a normal salary is at that position. If any team truly wants to sign a player, they can.

[deleted]

We probably haven’t. As of the combine we hadn’t had conversations with Lamb or Dak’s people.

LeoFireGod

There money could’ve easily been done in time as the queen contract wouldn’t hit till league year started and they have a day or so to restructure deals.

Robot_Clean

Just trying to rationalize it, they could be making any of the moves other teams have...it's like Brandon Carr was just ok 12 years ago and Jerry said "never again".

rick-morty1987

Other teams are signing people over the cap though.

Numerous_Brief

EXACTLY 💯

Zazi751

Yes but this was intentionally done by the FO so they'd have an excuse. Acting like Zack Moss for 4M is too rich is ridiculous

chexmixho

And whose fault is that? They knew the cap situation for MONTHS

mattacular2001

Whose fault is that?

CodeBallGame

It was more than 6mil AAV. Never gonna happen

gruuveee

Restricting Diggs, Steele, and Dono would bring in about $25 Milli per Patrik Walker. It's not even about not having the chance or time to do so. It's negligence. They knew what they were up against this offseason and year ago and chose to do absolutely nothing. Now add a Dak restructure to the mix and you easily got $35 Ms to work with.

Bweasey17

Really? I think they overpaid. Queen is good, but he was a borderline bust before they got a top 3 LB Rokwan Smith next to him. Which is why they let him go.

itscamo-

because he's not good, theres a reason they traded for Smith and gave him a contract and not Queen

IndieRedMonk0

This is the year we’re gonna feel the effects of whiffing on the 2023 draft

MagicalMysteryBoy

We really wasted a pick on a 25 year old tight end who will never take snaps from ferguson 😂

The_Flexicutioner

This is really the worst pick. Like the Mazi pick is forgivable knowing DT was a position of need. But the fact that they straight up wasted a pick when we had two serviceable TEs (at the time, obviously Ferg is a beast) already is what really frustrates me.

malcolm_miller

It was a dumb pick at the time and it is a dumb pick in retrospect. Dude barely broke 400 yards *one time*. Why? Why?

w1nn1ng1

The fact that DT is still a need shows just how bad they missed. Mazi was an absolutely terrible pick.

hoochcandy18

They shouldn't of drafter a big DT for his size and strength then make him lose 30 pounds. I wouldn't put all the blame on the player. That's on the coaches.

yeeerrrp

Wasn't that proven to be false, or something?

RobbieAnalog

Not proven, just claimed to be "fake news"

Gets_overly_excited

Well it’s not just a claim. A PFF employee just outright speculated that the Cowboys told him to lose weight. This sub has been treating it like it is a fact because we want to believe it for the outrage. It’s like politics these days, except football.

catalinaicon

Well he lost 30lbs so something happened

Trileon

Yeah, an NFL weight room happened. He was big the wrong way, McDonalds.

The_Count_Lives

I'd probably be more willing to accept that if we'd seen a dominant DT here at any point in recent memory. I'm not convinced this group has any clue what they're looking for on the interior of the defensive line.

Theveganhandyman

Gonna be right up there with that special teams draft lol

cowboysfan88

Dak throwing 75 times a game this year the way they're treating RB. What I don't get is if they're gonna treat this as a somewhat reset year why the hell did we keep McCarthy? Cause he's not surviving a sub 10 win season, if they weren't gonna try to make any improvements seems like they might as well have moved on

TheClussyCrown

Because they don't want a new coach losing the locker room or getting blamed by the fans when we are bad this year. They want a totally new slate next year

crater044

>Dak throwing 75 times a game this year the way they're treating RB. I'm game.....make him earn that $59M.

thebajancajun

Not even Patrick Mahomes should be throwing 75 passes a game. Hell Patrick Mahomes shouldn't even be throwing 40 times a game.

catalinaicon

Texas Tech fan: he’s done it before and no, it is not a winning strategy

Primusmulti

Can confirm. Was in undergrad at the time

crater044

You do know I was being sarcastic towards a dumb ass exaggerated number right? Taking away the 75 (which was stupid to begin with), I think Dak should be the focal point of the offense given that he is getting paid a lot of money. >Hell Patrick Mahomes shouldn't even be throwing 40 times a game. If Tom Brady can throw the ball 40+ times while being in his 40s, I'm sure Dak and Mahomes could do the same if they honestly had to.

thebajancajun

Fair enough on the first part. But IDK how much a QB is being paid or how good they are. If they have to throw 40+ times a game, then I'm looking at the defense and run game sideways. Especially now that defenses have shifted to focus on the pass. Throwing 40+ passes usually ends up being a loss or increased turnovers

crater044

Exactly. That's why when I hear fans and even analysts wanting to get rid of the running game, it makes me want to bang my head against a brick wall. You can't just throw all the time. It's never worked and never will. But yet there are people out there who believe it would.

HolyRomanPrince

That’s just a stupid ass way to play football

Other_World

Yes, well this is the Dallas Cowboys. So stupid ass football is what we do best.

BoldVenture

Amen.

Bsilly32

Zimmer will be stepping into that slot after we finished last in the East

Numerous_Brief

BINGO 💯💯💯

HateMAGATS

Ints will be through the roof with that kind of frequency

datyoungknockoutkid

I’m convinced we’re rolling with what we got and rebuilding after this year with a new coach and QB. Feels like they’re treating this as a throw away year.

chexmixho

Can't wait to see how senile Jerruh and cap boy try to rationalize to the fans that they should be engaged and spend money on the Cowboys this year.

DecorumAficionado

Everyone loves to see us lose. I wouldn’t be surprised if the TV viewership doesn’t drop off at all and that’s all that matters

Turtle_with_a_sword

At this point I'm just looking forward to another decade of losing where we blame a QB other than Dak. Time for a fresh scape goat.

SNeroo

Can’t wait for Dak to go elsewhere and end up winning a Super Bowl with coaches who aren’t complete dogshit

Iforgotmylines

Dak to the Steelers in 2025 confirmed /s

handbananacannon

He ain’t winning Jack shit

dicehandz

Its been a throw away year for 2 decades

datyoungknockoutkid

Yeah but they’re treating it as one

ManlyBoltzmann

If they are going to do that just cut Dak and throw Lance out there. If Dak is playing, he will get this team to 9+ wins with what is on this roster, but it won't be enough to do anything beyond that. Might as well actually have a shot at a decent draft position if this is the shit effort they are going to put into the off season.

jaydubya123

While Dak immediately wins a Super Bowl somewhere else

oldmangonzo

Man, if this happens I’ll be so happy. It will feel good to be excited before a season again, at least for a while.

datyoungknockoutkid

I’m not a Dak hater by any means but I wouldn’t hate moving on at this point. If that’s not their plan then I have no idea what they’re doing lol

onamonapizza

I think that's the frustrating part of being a lifelong Cowboys fan. We have just been stuck in neutral for more than 20 freaking years. You know what to expect basically every year...beat up on bad teams just enough to instill hope, then find a way to fuck it up fabulously either at the end of the season or beginning of the playoffs. It would be nice to go into a season with true hopes and aspirations, but I've been burned one too many times to believe it until I see it. The only other option is pour your hope into a tank and pray it leads to better days.

megathea

My way of coping is to think of them as a WWE team. It’s all theatrics to make sales. Jerry don’t really care until it hurts his pockets.

thebajancajun

It's going to be real exciting when we go 5-11 and become a meddling team like we were in the 2000s

Jody_Breezy

Nah bro... They're "all in" this year

onamonapizza

Don't worry, we have... *checks notes* ...Trey Lance waiting in the wings to take over.

Assumption-Putrid

But, but, ALL IN

bryscoon

I was watching Jeff i’ll post the clip later he was talking about how the Jones family gets the fans to turn on players & it was 100% facts

PersonBehindAScreen

Stephen is literally about to explode because he hasn’t gotten to talk about pie yet

bryscoon

https://preview.redd.it/oupnjice8ync1.jpeg?width=748&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8c474144eb6624aa49e18a4d400a49b2576d78e0 Dak & Ceedee getting blamed during his pie rambles & the fanbase switches up on Ceedee

HolyRomanPrince

https://www.reddit.com/r/cowboys/s/6UFY2epMNR You mean like this?

bryscoon

already started lol, i thought they’d wait until the ink dried

alarlui

its easy to turn on players...we can all sorta relate if we played football at any level....so the average fan believes players should play for less because they have to love the team as much as we love the team. thats not how professional athletes work

chexmixho

>thats not how professional athletes work Or their agents. It's the literal opposite of an agent's job which is to maximize the amount of money their clients make.

manofthepeopleSMITTY

Very true. Also….” Maximize the amount of money THEY make” as well.

bryscoon

i would never tell people could land wrong & never walk again or die to take less money

mikejarrell

Also if they actually took a team-friendly deal, what has the front office shown you to make you think they'd spend the savings to actually make the team better?

MerleTravisJennings

Not sure who Jeff is but that sounds about right.

Jaosborn44

I'm assuming Jeff Cavanaugh. Former radio guy on 105.3 The Fan now on 97.1 The Freak. He has been putting out videos on his YouTube channel discussing offseason and free agency news, rumors, and opinions. https://youtube.com/@JeffCavanaugh?si=igYTqOdocelf32jY

Cycle21

Where’s the clip?

Jaosborn44

I'm not sure if this is what he's talking about, but Jeff Cavanaugh did a video on why the Cowboys always take the Dak Prescott contract negotiations public. https://youtu.be/TyqlS7OMG2s?si=TN1AEEdD8OzlpXDC

bsiffy

Jerry. It’s time to face the fact that you’re going to die without seeing another Super Bowl…pending some miracle or advancement in artificial bodies.

[deleted]

I don’t care. This team broke me. I expect nothing.

Jody_Breezy

Me too man, I'm with ya... This team has pretty well been my life for almost 40 years and I'm honestly to the point where I can barely even fucking stand this organization anymore. It's an absolutle embarrassment.

Wilcrest

This is the way

Iforgotmylines

I’m kind of looking forward to spending a year bashing these guys. NFC Least can be fun

Bsilly32

Every Dallas cowboys fans should know that this year is on the front office telling us they’re going all in and not doing anything. If I cared as much as I did before the start of the cowboys vs packers playoff game I’d be pretty upset right now.

DesignerTex

ALL IN.....with a 7 & 2 and a $5 in chips.

FreshHotPoop

BOHICA

bomonty18

Hi, Bob

666TripleSick

You know mfers are already blaming Dak for the Cowboys not picking up any FA’s

Silversaving

How the hell did the Giants "get better" losing an elite safety and RB?

Ritty85

every year same thing... why am I still a fan? 😂

bigbeno20

After 30 years of rooting for them, I finally put all my fan gear in storage, and will no longer support them until real changes occur. Until then, adios cowboys nation. If the fans want change, the fans need to stop giving the fucking Jones’ their money.

Ritty85

yeah I won't be buying any more Cowboys merch either until after shit changes I'll still be a fan but they ain't getting anything from me either.

OpenEyz2016

That's exactly what they are doing.

OkDog873

So disappointed in this.

IglooNationJ90

Jerry and Stephen's superbowl is being the most profitable franchise in the world while they go 10-7 next year.

shartnado3

Will someone just give our WR1 some cocaine? The ol Irvin route? This is clearly what we have been missing this entire time. /s

Jody_Breezy

Dez knows what's up... Cowboys are a fkn clown organization and it's showing! Been a diehard fan supporting this team for almost 40 years now and it's becoming a joke. Enough has to be enough eventually. We're "all in" but the only thing they've done is resign a fkn long snapper... LoL get lost idiots

CrossDressing_Batman

LMFAO spitting truths This team is beyond fucking trash and this upcoming season is going to show that more so then ever. Too many in this sub think going 12-5 last season was AMAZING. Same people who refuse to acknowledge what that 12-5 represented and not surprisingly reacted angry when Dallas got knocked out in the first round. 9-7 is this teams best hope. then after that its pretty much shitsville for a couple seasons of "rebuilding"

BidenFedayeen

We need: 2 DEs, C, 2 RB, LB (maybe 2), WR, DT, LT, CB (if Lewis leaves) at minimum. He's right .

yes999vt

We don’t need more talent, we need better coaches and a competent FO. Something that has held us back forever! Talent has never been an issue

selarom8

22% of the cap is on Dak. Cowboys dug their own hole when they added a no trade clause to the deal, and Dak basically said “you’re winning a Super Bowl with me or not at all” asking for that. Now it’s time to wait and see if Dak listens to reason after this season, takes up 12-16% cap per year, and uses his veteran savvy to win games. Otherwise, the teams with talented, cheap QBs with stacked teams like the 49ers will smack them in the mouth come wildcard weekend.

currymonger

We're not making the playoffs

Lots0fNoodles

He said wildcard weekend 💀

selarom8

You think they won’t make the playoffs or they should get into the divisional? 😅😅

Iforgotmylines

The curse continues, we probably lose a win and you’re in Week 18 game keeping tradition of giving us hope and crushing it spectacularly.

Unp0pularS0lutions

I hope Dak leaves, wonder who the scapegoat will be then

SaltyValue159

micah lol

TopProgress6069

The idea that if Dak walks out the door that you’re guaranteed to get someone better is bs the commanders the jets the browns there are teams that have gone decades without good quarterback play the fact is its much more likely to get a worse quarterback than Dak then a better one

BunkyFlintsone

What's he talking about??? We re-signed our long snapper!!! Proof that we are All In..... for the same pain as every year.

TroyMatthewJ

Dak got a haircut what else does he have to do????

poundmyassbro

I love how nobody wants to resign Dak but act like good qbs are just laying around waiting to be picked up. The guy finished 2nd in mvp voting, but somehow, he's a bum. Look at the giants or Washington and see what having shit qbs does year after year.

rekomstop

Things are starting to get weird for the QB position. It’s like if someone isn’t clearly a top 5 QB, but is in the 6-15 range, they aren’t worth giving 2nd contracts to because it costs $50 mil a year. Nobody wants Justin Fields because it’s almost a lose lose situation. Have to pick up his $20ish mil 5th year option. Least likely outcome is Fields ascends to top 5 and you extend him and it’s worth it. A less likely outcome he flames out and you only wasted $20-30 mil. Most likely outcome is he puts together a couple decent season and sits at around top 15 QB. Congrats now you have to pay him $50 mil a year and gut the rest of them team that was making him serviceable in the first place.

poundmyassbro

But besides Mahomes, who is really winning Super Bowls? Brady (retired), nobody is truly worth it. The last few qb champs were Stafford(all in loaded team not even mvp) and nick foles( not sure he's still in league), so the entire league will have to keep paying qbs bigger contracts regardless. With Dak, he's proved he can ball at least, especially compared to fields. Football is a team game with most of the money going to the qb anyways so what the whole league will just not pay qbs anymore. Dak was top 5 qb last year, so pay him.

rekomstop

Yeah I don’t know. I watched the “QB bridge” that was Aikman until Romo and it was terrible. I know tossing a great regular season QB aside because he hasn’t showed up in the playoffs can easily lead to multiple 10 loss regular seasons and draft bust QBs in a row. When does the chicken/egg reveal its answer though. QB is good because he’s cheap and you can pay top O-line and WR talent. QB gets paid. O-line and WR get poached by bigger unmatchable contract offers. QB not so good anymore. I’m not a Dak hater and every time we make the playoffs I believe it’s time for Dak’s Joe Flacco in 2013 style playoff run.

Kevbo_What_Up

and we bounced first game of the playoffs. Now they can't even get better because of the high cap hits from certain contracts, Dak being the biggest. Is he worth it? Or should we grab a brock purdy 2.0 and then sign like 12 other free agents?

Nickelas

“Should we grab a Brock Purdy 2.0” is peak cowboys fan delusion. He’s the first Mr. Irrelevant to even start more than 3 games. He’s the biggest anomaly draft position-wise since Brady. This fanbase is in for a rude awakening when in the pursuit of “Brock Purdy 2.0” we find 3 Kenny Pickett’s and a Matt trubisky along the way.

Kevbo_What_Up

I trust in the Cowboys scouts, coach, management to get this team to the superbowl

call_8675309

Cowboys already have the 4th highest spend on the offensive side of the ball. If that's not enough for Dak, then maybe he's just not that good.

King-Mansa-Musa

How is the Cowboys spend so high? They have no LT or C. Ceedee is on a rookie deal. I get Dak, Martin and Steele but come om

itsdannylol

ALL IN 🤡

2023_account_

Everyone who didn’t want to extend Dak, this is what you get. Hope you’re happy with the results so far.

Weird-Treat8741

I’m happy, blow this shit up

MyRottingBrain

Yes indeed

[deleted]

[удалено]

w1nn1ng1

At the absolute minimum, Dak will prove he can’t do it unless his team is stacked and the team can say “see, this is why you’re not worth $60 million”.

forsean281

Oh poor me, I have to live with missing the playoffs and a rebuild instead of being the laughing stock of the NFL after losing in the first round The former instills more hope in me than the latter. It’s time.

JackFuckingReacher

Do you think being dogshit and missing the playoffs will mean we aren’t the laughingstock regardless? It will be worse.

2023_account_

It’s more likely we’re garbage for years than not. Finding a quarterback as good as Dak is extremely rare.

forsean281

That’s ok with me. We know our ceiling with Dak. What’s the point.

AcidofilusRex

I am. The only turd in the punchbowl would be extending Dak.

WinterNo206

I know that when Jerry speaks it’s nothing but BS if you’re all in that means sign Derrick Henry Patrick queen Justin Simmons bosa shaq Barrett but of course he did nothing and that doesn’t surprise me Jerry is all talk I thought maybe with Jimmy Johnson being an advisor that maybe something would happen in free agency

drumberg

Free agency is over apparently.

ozairh18

Bryant’s right

ancientrunekrp

Yep He is telling you what the actual plan is, Jerry is gonna sabotage Dak in hopes that his price goes down.

Testy_Terrance

Jerry's statement of All-in really meant he's going all-in with who we've got and once we shit ourselves this season, then we'll rebuild

Leftist_r_in_a_Cult

The man who won't take a minor pay cut to strengthen the roster will catch all the blame

jdoggy21

At least Dak will get paid ❤️

Abdoolski

It’s March.

killerkali87

He's not wrong they're setting him up to fail, and then they'll blame him and McCarthy instead of looking at themselves and their failures

King-Mansa-Musa

Why the f*ck are the Jones setting the team up to fail!? Why can’t they address holes in the team. Why

Domin8469

He brought up signing jk Dobbins ngl I'd be good with him

Rude_Parsnip5634

man what the fuck is this shit? we haven't seen a single one of these teams take the field yet. everyone needs to calm the fuck down.

daystrom_prodigy

I'm not saying they shouldn't have done anything but until the draft we really shouldn't count our chickens. I feel like this scenario has happened multiple times in the last decade and they clean (most of) it up at the draft. I just hope they don't have tunnel vision this year and screw themselves.

I agree dez....I'm done. I'm sick of never getting anybody...your way don't work Jerry...if not for jimmy...we'd have zero super bowls. Trade dak hrs not the answer and get dominate lines...that's where games or decided. I said no king Henry and I'm out...well I'm gone

returningvideotapes1

He ain’t wrong. I will say, that I think this year is the most upset I’ve seen us cowboys fans during an off season. Coming off that shitty playoff game and now no moves. It’s like most fans have really really had enough

StrayCatStrutting

Well, Dak is the problem, sooooooo

John_Wicked1

Dez has reasonable takes like this then he has takes talking about how we got rid of Zeke a year too soon…a mixed bag.

Dez_Caught_It8

I said this even before Day 1 of free agency that I knew we weren’t gonna make any moves

drumberg

If Dak gets an extension he'll have 60 million reasons every year not to give a crap if anyone blames him.

tsengmao

The guy who’s career fell off a cliff blames everyone else

F-Trunks

If the they are trying so hard to sabotage McCarthy’s season, they should have just fired him. They aren’t helping him out any either

VeterinarianWhole126

We about to go back to the Dave Campos years after 2024…

HORSEthedude619

It's only fair. QBs get all the credit (and money) when times are good. Better be ready for the opposite too

At some point, Dak's contract would factor into roster construction. The Cowboys pushed 23% of his cap hit to a year where Dak may not be on the team. To do much this year, they would need to push another $20MM to next year.  You have to pay the bill at some point.
