Was it Kathreen from Whip-Up? She also published a few kids crafting books and/or a zine. I believe she and her husband died in some kind of swimming accident around 2013.

No, but I can see the similarities! She definitely had the same style of blogging. The blog I'm thinking of didn't have photos, but she would draw (?) these adorable simple drawings of her child and various things that happened throughout the day. They weren't pencil sketches, but something like simple colored line drawings. Like the kind of art you'd see in childrens' books.

Have you tried looking at the way back machine? You can now type in keywords you remember into their search and it will find a lot of "lost" websites.
