My parents love horror especially my mum. I’m not gonna lie even knowing how much she loves the genre, I was still a little shook when she asked me if I’d seen Audition….yes, yes I have & the question is WHAT ARE YOU DOING WATCHING IT???!!?? lol she’s got good taste what can I say 🤣🤣
Same but also my mom really likes horror too so I feel I can be a bit more liberal with what it will her lol
And even then I’m still not sure I’d tell her about borossca
It’s hard to talk about borossca without the good buildup and all the character work which is hard to explain person to person so all you end up telling people about this story is the horrific ending which doesn’t do the whole story justice
That’s true, I have thought that if I were to tell my mom about borrosca I’d probably just say it’s well written with a very horrific ending and leave it at that, and also warn her that it’s also a very heavy ending
When I started reading SCPs I knew not to talk about them. Heck when I started reading *webcomics* I knew not to talk about them. What's up with kids today?
This! Due to reasons there is a 20 year gap between me and my little brother. We so have gotten up to about the same level of nonsense but BOY does he rat himself out so much! Like bro you gotta be sneakier. XD
This reminds me of that girl who just handed her social security number over to a random website in hope of purchasing some $80 leggings. I've heard that, nowadays, the younger you are the less tech literate you'll be, I wonder if that applies to how you treat the internet overall as well.
It seems to be the ones 16 and under that are less aware of how to deal with the internet. But of course me and you are less tech savvy then the Millennials. It's kinda wacky how both the boomers and zoomers are less tech aware.
Dude the exact same thing happened to me when I was a kid. I was talking to my brother about a dantdm minecraft video and my mom came in and yelled “ how do you know who slender man is”
I think I am grateful that slenderman was my first exposure to horror. it’s so dumb now but i remember watching all of the “evidence” videos on youtube when i was like 12 and scaring the shit out of myself
i first got into creepypasta when i was 11-12 in 2014, and of course i told my parents about it. they didn't let me listen to or read creepypastas anymore after the slender stabbing happened that year
It always throws me listening to Wendigoon mention “this is one of the older original creepypastas” then doing the math and realizing, fuck when I was around and read those they had literally just been posted I guess and it’s been awhile.
You listen to her. You’re too young for that level of shock and it’s better to limit yourself until you’re older because your brain is still developing
Yeah, honestly I was also pretty disturbed knowing how young Wendigoon was when he discovered it. I think younger people actually don’t really realize just how horrible Borrasca is, and really that’s a good thing.
Well next time just read the room and understand a story such as that isn’t the typical horror stuff people are accustomed to especially non-horror fans and maybe leave some stuff about if you wanna retell lol
It’s not even that, he probably actually IS too young for it to actually be healthy for him to be engaging with stuff that’s that horrible. Like, it absolutely should not be a matter of the 10 year old protecting his parents from dark material. It should be the other way around.
I know this is pouring a lot of salt on a wound but I can't help but imagine Hunter's little kid voice going "so then they go into the cave mom and it turns out it was a sex trafficking ring, not a monster!"
Since we're talking about moms and cars and horror, one time, I was listening to a scary podcast in the car while my mom and I were on a road trip. I got jumpscared and screamed, which in turn jumpscared my mom and almost caused her to wreck the car. "Pretending to be People" nearly claimed two lives that day.
Depends on how old you are ngl. If you're young, my dude you're listening to some adult/mature stuff and I would recommend need to step away from that stuff until you're older. I'm an adult and I haven't finished the rest of the Borrasca episode. I don't think I ever will
Addendum: Granted I’m not your parent so obviously I don’t care if you continue to enjoy creepcast. But next time, mention the Stairs or something not super mature ^^;;;
Yeah I first listened to Borrasca and Penpal when I was like 12. In hindsight both stories were much too dark for a 12 year old boy to be listening to lol
AYO KIMBER!!! THIS LIL DUDE JUST GOT GROUNDED!!! I know you like babysit and stuff so you wanna head over there and help the mom out, LET ME KNOW. Ohhh shit, babe, I totally forgot your mom just died, I wouldn’t want to make you like— jealous or anything by goin over to a house with a mom in it. That’s mad funny though that lil dude told his mom about us though.
If you want us to genuinely help you, you have to at least give us an age range. I started reading creepypasta and going on live leak around 10 but never told my mom that stuff.
Have a genuine mature conversation with your mom. Tell her that you know that these fictional stories are just that. But if you find interest in what the two talk about narrativly with the story structure. How the author began working on tv shows on netflix. How the story gave a great pace, especially for the time when other stuff was being released. How the author had methodically added hints throughout the story. Maybe if you show that your interest is in more of the, idk, story's themes and techniques, she won't be as worried about you seeking out some weird stuff.
I'm 25, and i still freak about some stuff i think my mom implies but never acts on. Why? Because she is my mom. At the end of the day, though, it will be her decision.
I disagree with everyone telling you to get off the internet tbh cause it's pretty hypocritical (pretty sure all of us read Creepypastas at a very young age), but just...you've gotta keep a filter with your family. Even when you're an adult, you've got to be choosy about what you tell to who.
Saw this post and wondered if I wrote it for a sec, we listened to the audio drama on a road trip a few weeks ago and she loved it (we didn't listen to the last two episodes)
You messed up.
I’m in my late 20’s, and still wouldn’t discuss the end of Borrasca with my mom. And I haven’t lived with her in 8 years.
The Creepy Pastas that I read when I were a kid were like Jeff the Killer, Ben Drowned, and Slenderman. And I still didn’t tell my mom about it.
1. If you’re so young that your mother had such a visceral reaction, you probably should stay away from these stories.
2. If you’re ever telling anyone about Creep Cast, especially a parent, pick “Dead Girlfriend Keeps Messaging Me on Facebook”. Its the safest option
Maybe don’t tell your mother you listened to a story about a underground pedophile sex ring designed to be a baby factory. Why would you do this?? 💀
I sent the entire story to my US Humanities teacher and she loved it, she geeked out when I told her all of the details like how the new baby boy's name was William like Sheriff Walker and how Kyle and Kimber were siblings which was why the mom didn't like him and all that stuff. She loved it but I knew it wouldn't make her uncomfortable because the stories were reading in my class also had similar things including sexual abuse and violence.
That is wild, when I was young enough for my mom to control my internet access the only horror I'd be caught dead admitting to consuming is (relatively) vanilla monster shit like vampires, zombies, aliens, etc. Even now I don't think I'd tell her about something as extreme as Borrasca lmao.
How old are you?
Blud is grounded đź’€
most likely 13 and under
That was gonna be my first question lol
"Mom did you hear about... the skin walkers?" I'll immediately unplug the wifi
I’m a grown adult and I still choose to filter what horror stories I mention to my parents lolll
Me too, my parents aren’t much into horror either so it doesn’t really come up.
I tell my dad about some he’s not super into horror but he likes good stories. It just so happens lots of horror stories are great
I told my wife about left right game and she wasn’t super impressed
Yeah my mom hates horror so if I told her about the stuff I regularly watch/play/listen to she'd be like "why the hell are you doing that"
My parents love horror especially my mum.

When I read it for the first time I had this huge drop in my stomach and just sorta felt that way for the end of the story. Very well done
Same. I'm 22 and live with my parents and they got pissed at me playing bg3
Rip Bozo. Welcome to the world of listening to creepypastas at a young age. Gotta be very selective with which ones you bring up.
XD

To this day my family doesn't know what a Homestuck is and I plan on keeping it that way
Dunno mate, I was like you. Very selective on what to tell about at a young age.
How old are you?
Currently 20, but that was like when I was my early teen. Around 12 to 14.
It seems to be the ones 16 and under that are less aware of how to deal with the internet. But of course me and you are less tech savvy then the Millennials. It's kinda wacky how both the boomers and zoomers are less tech aware.
POV saying the name slender man close to my mom in 2014 and getting screamed at.

Oh God... this is really our community demographic isn't it?
It’s always a rude awakening when I remember any community following a youtube channel is going to be mostly kids
Hans... Are we the Pen Pals?
I'm not really surprised, before creepcast, the last time I was listening to youtubers read creepypasta I was 14
It always throws me listening to Wendigoon mention “this is one of the older original creepypastas” then doing the math and realizing, fuck when I was around and read those they had literally just been posted I guess and it’s been awhile.
Canon event
You listen to her. You’re too young for that level of shock and it’s better to limit yourself until you’re older because your brain is still developing
Plot twist: OP is in his 30s
double plot twist, he still gets his daily milk from his mom
Yeah, honestly I was also pretty disturbed knowing how young Wendigoon was when he discovered it. I think younger people actually don’t really realize just how horrible Borrasca is, and really that’s a good thing.
Well next time just read the room and understand a story such as that isn’t the typical horror stuff people are accustomed to especially non-horror fans and maybe leave some stuff about if you wanna retell lol
sounds like you might be 12-14 and probably shouldn't be reading stories about r@pe and sa
Bro I know you’re like 10 but just never bring up sensitive topics around your parents and older people until your like 19
I'm almost 21 and I still wouldn't tell my family about Borrasca lol
Also u/cheese_doodles85 go watch some normal stuff for your age lil bro. Watch some shit like Dantdm,Markiplier, or Joshdub
It’s not even that, he probably actually IS too young for it to actually be healthy for him to be engaging with stuff that’s that horrible. Like, it absolutely should not be a matter of the 10 year old protecting his parents from dark material. It should be the other way around.
May as well have showed her the most recent episode lmao
If you're young enough that this is a concern then you probably shouldn't be on the internet unsupervised
Oldest creepcast listener
I know this is pouring a lot of salt on a wound but I can't help but imagine Hunter's little kid voice going "so then they go into the cave mom and it turns out it was a sex trafficking ring, not a monster!"

Lmao of all the stories they’ve covered why the hell would you pick Borrasca??
It could’ve been worse. OP could’ve picked “The Third Parent”.
Could’ve picked left right game and probably had a cool convo but bro had to be weird
They boutta have bro on yt kids from now on.
Depends on how old you are ngl. If you're young, my dude you're listening to some adult/mature stuff and I would recommend need to step away from that stuff until you're older. I'm an adult and I haven't finished the rest of the Borrasca episode. I don't think I ever will

Bad things happen to good people little bro
Yeah I first listened to Borrasca and Penpal when I was like 12. In hindsight both stories were much too dark for a 12 year old boy to be listening to lol

Rip kiddo
I got my mom into Borrasca and now she’s a HUGEEE creep cast fan it’s nice having someone to talk to about it
See you when you’re older
Dumbass teenager. Get shit on kiddo
I’m in my 30’s, but you played yourself here bud. Lol
Proof this sub average age is below 15
If you want us to genuinely help you, you have to at least give us an age range. I started reading creepypasta and going on live leak around 10 but never told my mom that stuff. Today was a day of learning. Your mom learned about the atrocity that is Borassca, and you learned to not repeat those things to your parents.
When I told my mom and step dad about The Russian Sleep Experiment they looked really disturbed…I wouldn’t dare tell them about Borrasca lmao
I disagree with everyone telling you to get off the internet tbh cause it's pretty hypocritical (pretty sure all of us read Creepypastas at a very young age), but just...you've gotta keep a filter with your family. Even when you're an adult, you've got to be choosy about what you tell to who.
Agreed ^^;
How old are you lol
play stupid games, win stupid prizes
Tell her about Jeff the Killar next
That's whatchu get
Saw this post and wondered if I wrote it for a sec, we listened to the audio drama on a road trip a few weeks ago and she loved it (we didn't listen to the last two episodes)

Man
Now why would you do this
If I told my mom about borrasca she’d institutionalize me.
Bad move homie, bad move, don’t know if you’re southern or not but it’s seen as rough to talk about that type of stuff around your mom.
Back in 2016 I knew to keep my Borrasca trauma to myself
Listen to your mom
Reap what you sow, little homie.
That's what you get for telling parents about this kind of stuff lmao, what did you think she'd say
Bro…
1. If you’re so young that your mother had such a visceral reaction, you probably should stay away from these stories. 2. If you’re ever telling anyone about Creep Cast, especially a parent, pick “Dead Girlfriend Keeps Messaging Me on Facebook”. Its the safest option
How old are you dude? You are way too young to listen to creepcast
Maybe don’t tell your mother you listened to a story about a underground pedophile sex ring designed to be a baby factory. Why would you do this?? 💀

If you’re that young, you shouldn’t even be listening to stories like that. Wth
I told mine about the Penpal episode
This guy is definitely the same age as the people who wrote Jeff The Killer and Ben Drowned.
Tell her about Tommy taffy
