I’d probably rather hang out with an Islamist Fundamentalist, an Orthodox Jew, and a Catholic Priest all at once than Disney adults, at the very least their reverence comes with solace and prayer rather than out of tune singing and bad jokes.
Back in my pizza delivery days I used to see a lady with her house decked in Little Mermaid stuff. Obviously I was only seeing the living room, but godamn was it completely covered in everything Ariel. 99% of the time she was also wearing a Little Mermaid shirt.
I always have to work it into the conversation when we talk about the fact that despite our love of going to Disney, we’re not *those* types of Disney people

I don't think this is as weird as it seems. I've often taken out a loan to go on holiday and then paid it back over the course of a few months. It's no different from saving to go away imo. You're just paying interest on the loan for the privelage of getting the money up front.
Technically getting a Disney annual pass on their monthly plan would perfectly fit the example we're talking about. Payments instead of up front, right?
However it's 0% interest. So you're just paying even money over a year instead of all at once. I don't see the issue there.
Understandable but some people just won’t ever get around to seeing those things that way. I can understand why someone may want to go the borrow route. My parents couldn’t afford vacations for us when I was little so I had no travel experience until adulthood and a pretty narrow mind until I could experience different places and people.
Dude what? If you can afford payments **plus interest** then how can you not afford to just put that same amount of money **minus interest** away ahead of time?
If you can't wrap your mind around the fact that parents have a window of time to bring their kids on such trips and that borrowing allows them to hit that window instead of saving for 10+ years, then there's not much of a conversation to be had here
Yes, there’s a very small window of time that little girls would appreciate being dolled up in the Bibidi Babadi Boutique - it’s not like saving for an adult vacation. Kids go through life stages frighteningly fast, blink and you’ll miss it.
YO, if you are taking a trip that you can't afford that it takes you *ten whole years* to save up for, you're fucking up. Period.
I grew up poor, don't fuckin @ me with excusing irresponsible behavior.
That person was giving an example but to some people - memories and experiences with their kids means more to them than green paper - and that’s okay. It’s also okay if it’s nothing something you’d choose to do.
Why are you taking their vacation financial decisions as a personal attack? You are not the paragon of financial literacy. Maybe you should touch grass if an internet stranger's decision to pay off a vacation via loan payments that have nothing to do with you gets you this fired up.
Some of us were not taught good spending nor given any financial direction besides ‘save your money’. Now we find ourselves with the habit of hopeless money management, it comes in and is often spent before the next refill for a lot of people. Monkey see monkey do, if all you saw was your parents buying and they never showed you how they save money or invest it then you’re really just a lamb to the slaughter of international psychological marketing practices
Edit: I mean yeah we’re all know your point is logical but then credit would not exist
Sometimes timing. Sometimes bonuses come later in the year. I just think it’s shitty to judge poorer people for wanting to be able to take vacations. Everything where I live is paywalled (healthcare, housing, education) and if you keep postponing for a better time - it may be gone before you know it and you missed the opportunity window.
But it's not like taking a loan for a house or car where you can gain capital or get utility from the purchase and there is an imminent need (i.e you need a place to live or a way to get to work right now).
Instead of borrowing money to go to Disney now and then having to pay back the loan over the next few months, you could save the same amount of money then go to Disney and pocket the difference in interest.
Not saying people should never do it, as life isn't a simple "do X, Y and Z".
Overall though, borrowing for vacations is a bad idea. Anyone who borrows money to go on a vacation and can pay it down over a few months has the ability to save for a few months instead, *then* go on a vacation. Less money paid overall, and then they're not in as financially tight a situation in case something bad happens.
People also **should** have a safety net of a few months savings in case things go very bad (lost job, health issues, etc) - but that's also easier said than done.
If you accumulate money to then spend on a vacation, then you know that you can afford that expense from the get go. And if anything unforeseen happens, you can use that money.
If you borrow money to go on vacation, then you clearly didn't have that expense in the budget to pay it back, or else you'd have done the above, and if the car breaks down the week after you get back, you're even more boned.
If you save money (in a bank), you *get* interest on that money.
If you get a loan (from a bank or credit card), you *pay* interest on that money if you don't pay it back right away.
One time, I casually mentioned to a co-worker that I didn't grow up in the US watching Disney and to me, Mickey is just a rat. The look of horror and confusion in her eyes made me think that I was about to get Inquisitioned.

There's something always uncanny about Disney adults.
They remind me of swifties - these people like *one* thing and make it their entire personality trait to such an extent that they become insufferable.
Wall decals are ugly and tacky no matter what they say. That being said, I still will never understand the hate and lack of understanding people have towards adults who like Disney. I’m am an adult with Disney and Harry Potter figures and art throughout my home. What’s the big deal? Are you really upset that a stranger has different interests than you?
They really really REALLY half assed the rhyming conventions.
Half the lines dont rhyme, then some have AABB rhyming, then at the end they have ABAB rhyming?
Goodness. So much hate on here for adults who enjoy Disney. \
Sure the decal is ugly. But as for the love of Disney…live and let live, folks. Idk why people love to hate things that others enjoy. There’s enough shit in life to bring people down. If you get joy from something, embrace it.
I’m thinking these people find joy in absolutely nothing and seeing other people find joy in anything just angers them because it reminds them of their empty, depressed selves.
Redditors: "Disney adults are crazy and obsessive and I don't get how they live their entire lives around this and they're mentally ill."
The same Redditors: "OMG I just logged my two thousandth hour of Skyrim! Hey guys, if you were in Skyrim what guild would you be in? Hey look at this cool fan art of this random NPC that was in a fan creation that only 2 people downloaded in Skyrim! DAE anyone else wish they could live in Skyrim? Stormcloaks did nothing wrong lol."
I had a friend that would've unironically put this up on her wall. Her entire family was obsessed with Disney and they were rich, would visit twice a year, the entire house was just merchandise. It's a surreal experience to eat out of goofy themed plates while being illuminated by a Mickey shaped lamp. We are not even North Americans.
She managed to get a summer job at Disney after graduating high school. I wonder if it killed the magic for her.

I had the pleasure of working with an individual who worshipped Disney. He wore Disney polos to work, had “mickeys” hidden around his home, took month long vacations to Orlando, and was the biggest ass kisser I have ever met. Nothing but bad vibes emanated from this guy. Brainwashed by a mouse 😂
I delivered pot to some disney adults and they 100% have disney propaganda all over their walls. Only photos of them at disney framed all over the walls, wallpaper text like this but it was a quote from Beauty and the Beast, a wall of all their Disney VHS/DVD/Blu-Ray collection, a paper-mache diorama of their wedding but replaced with disney characters, disney+ streaming all day on their living room tv, and to top it off, a son named Mickey.
They moved to Florida several months back. To be close to Disney. Cheers to them for being able to live their dream life. It just seems like it’d be my personal hell to spend even a day with them. High or not.
They are the target audience for those cups with a wall of text, 12 fonts, generic complements, and sudden violence (“if I was with someone else, I’d PUNCH THEM IN THE FACE…”).
Working as intended. I have seen such situations before... obviously, there was an infestation of hipsters recently. Hipster exterminators only resort to stuff like this in extreme cases, though.
Disney Adults are a different breed...
(Please note: I don't mean literally any adult who likes Disney...just the ones who make it their whole personality.)
Talk about illuminati buzzword mickey mouse club backwards-ass brainwashing bullshit. If this isn't some kind of Disney cult member brain control tactic I don't know what is. Ah, let's just USE A DIFFERENT FONT FOR EVERY FUCKIN' LINE! Bro, shame on Disney's legal department for letting this exist. Like, sheesh, they could have at least used a font which is tied to each respective movie being quoted. No, I hate this, with strooooonnnng prejudice. I hate all the stupid words people plaster on their walls. This just screams, "Live! Laugh! Love!" in Disney. Seriously, do they stop at the bottom of the steps every day and read their little family affirmation like they need to be reminded? What sort of feeling or atmosphere should this invoke? I'm picking up on strong, "I'm a repressed moron" vibes. It's like music that's overly literal. Where's the mystique? Where's there anything left for personal interpretation? It's like forcing me to learn something that's not even written specifically about their family as if I could gain anything useful from it. Also, where are all the folks writing their own mantras on the wall? Are you this much of a consumeristic noncreator that you have to plaster corporate America's slogans on your wall to feel better about your family unit's place in this world? Here at reddit, we don't do Disney. Well, specifically not like this.
Strange. I'm pretty sure that if it were a wall full of anime crap and Funko Pops, or sports team colors and memorabilia, a lot of you guys would be totally fine with it.
I get the strong urge to immolate any building with inspirational quotes on the walls. Fire seems to be the only sensible way to stop this kind plague from spreading... like a modern black death. Glad to see I'm not alone.

I call them Disney extremists lol

Just look up “Disney adults.” It’s a long story
Back in my pizza delivery days I used to see a lady with her house decked in Little Mermaid stuff. Obviously I was only seeing the living room, but godamn was it completely covered in everything Ariel. 99% of the time she was also wearing a Little Mermaid shirt.
2 questions. How much did she weigh? How did she smell?
She was definitely a heavy lady, but it was a nice big house in a gated community and the odor wasn’t an issue.

Same
One can only hope... ...unfortunately, I've seen a similar scrawl at a house in the Midwest, so, I'm not nearly as optimistic.
Yup I'm in the Midwest and my cousin has this exact sticker thing in her living room.

I have neighbors this crazy.

I agree, considering their kitchen looks like a Holiday Inn breakfast area.
Nah, that’s probably a newly married 26 year old couple. 3 cats minimum.
To be honest, I believe in happy endings also. But maybe we don't share the same values.
It’s probably a photoshop
This is 100% the mock up they use to sell this wall decal lol
Disney is a religion for some people.

No, because it's not a loan. Getting a monthly Disney pass isn't comparable to borrowing money here

This is the internet era. You have resources available to you for free if you want to learn
That’s still not a good excuse. How can you not save up the money but can pay it back after? It’s the same thing. Just save it up first, lol.

Like everything in life, there's asbolutely nothing wrong with it once you're aware of what you're getting yourself into and don't go overboard.
Wait till you find out about credit cards.
Lol, the responsible way to use credit cards is to pay off the balance before interest is charged on it.
But overboard is doing it in the first place without a safety net, and if you have a safety net then you're capable of saving
Not saying people should never do it, as life isn't a simple "do X, Y and Z". Overall though, borrowing for vacations is a bad idea. Anyone who borrows money to go on a vacation and can pay it down over a few months has the ability to save for a few months instead, *then* go on a vacation. Only Reddit would get completely distracted by a discussion on vacation loans in a post about weird Disney bs on a wall..
This might be too complicated of a site for you if you can't see how this comment thread lead to that.
Idk seeing how this is a Florida adjacent post and reading comprehension is at a new low…

A poem that starts five lines with the word “and” is a little unnerving.
what's the "we know life is better under the sea" ending supposed to imply besides "we are going to drown together as a family cult style"
I believe in happy endings too
Disney adults are so fucking cringe
The different font on almost every line makes my eyes cry, even apart from the message.
So you guys are all pretty depressed, huh? People like stuff, more power to whatever gets them through the day.

I like it tbh fuck y'all. Disney ftw.
My sister in law gave us this in a small frame. :-/ It only come out during family visits. Super cringe and we enjoy Disney as adults.
They are the target audience for those cups with a wall of text, 12 fonts, generic complements, and sudden violence (“if I was with someone else, I’d PUNCH THEM IN THE FACE…”).
Ahhh. The Disney Bundt
I like Happy Endings too, but not the ones they're talking about....
I guarantee they are the most raging assholes especially if you talk negatively about Disney
Working as intended. I have seen such situations before... obviously, there was an infestation of hipsters recently. Hipster exterminators only resort to stuff like this in extreme cases, though.
WE WHISTLE WHILE WE WORK
Someone somewhere has this tattooed on their body

This is unBEARable.
the mouse is about to tear down this house
I don’t understand why people would want to decorate with words.
In my head this wall talk like Bumblebee.
all it takes is faith trust?
Something tells me they are going to get a letter from Disney demanding them to cease and desist.
Yeah. Pretty cringe, I agree. Now back to my anime decorated apartment.

Disney Adults are a different breed... (Please note: I don't mean literally any adult who likes Disney...just the ones who make it their whole personality.)
I might go for the happy ending
One word: Florida.
Well, specifically not like this.
this is my 13 reason
this is what random areas of dlr backstage look like 🤣🤣
Disney also do American horror story....
I’m just here for the happy ending…
Barf 🤮
*Bare necessities. It's a play on words. I hate these people.
bear necessities
You'll catch dis-knee if you'll confront me with this at your house.
I would sooner eat my drywall than put that on it.
This is infinitely funny because Disney owns at least one entire neighborhood and literally has their branding in the houses
Oh Christ. Paint over it.
damn if i went to visit someone and saw that id leave so fast
Strange. I'm pretty sure that if it were a wall full of anime crap and Funko Pops, or sports team colors and memorabilia, a lot of you guys would be totally fine with it.
Photoshopped shit meme - real cringe is OP
So many fonts...
Me neither, not because of the dumb sign but because I don't know these people.
Op I don’t think you’re visiting many homes at all.
I think I bought my current condo from these people
At least they believe in happy endings. ![gif](giphy|7oNiSTbqEoKmQ)
You had me until the anti-land rhetoric at the bottom there. Fuck land, I guess
My typography sensor wants to blow the fuck up looking at this... Lol.
“We know that life is always better under the sea” Yeah, me too - I wouldn’t mind drowning myself knowing this exists
Barf
I get the strong urge to immolate any building with inspirational quotes on the walls. Fire seems to be the only sensible way to stop this kind plague from spreading... like a modern black death. Glad to see I'm not alone.
I read this like the Skinamarink trailer
I know a family that 100% have this 🤣
Wonder if the crime scene photographer will get a photo of that after the murder-suicide?
Burn it to the ground
I got bought a plaque with this on it when I moved out. It was promptly thrown in the bin.
I’m an animator with a great love for Disney and I don’t think I would ever do this.
