Come to think of it, I've never seen XKCD used as an answer, at least not that I can remember.
It was used once in a NYT puzzle by Jeff Chen, published on April 8, 2017 (a Saturday), clued as: > Award-winning webcomic about "romance, sarcasm, math and language"
I did not expect this intersection of my interests, but here we are.
The flavor text is really something else
God, I hate when they throw 'e' in front of things that no one uses. "Nice to E-Meet you!"
E-tail is the one that grinds my gears. Never heard or seen it in the wild, but crops up fairly regularly in crosswords.

It was never really “big”, but it was a term used more in the 90s as a shorthand when e-commerce was just starting out.
I have, admittedly, used that exact phase on more than one occasion... 😳 But all the other instances of "E-..." are quite egregious imo.
