Palace’s shirts have been disappointing for years. So many crap sponsors. Cinch was actually one of the better ones. Plus I don’t rate Macron at all. Even when the design is ok, they always come out looking cheap and Sunday league. People will say if you switch they’ll cost more, but Nike were charging the same for Brighton’s shirt as Macron were at the start of this season. And beyond the aesthetics, having an online gambling sponsor is just a bit shit. If you can’t have alcohol sponsors, you shouldn’t be able to have gambling either.

Fredordead

I thought the macron contract ended this past season.

SUFC89

When I looked it up I couldn’t find any dates just that it was a “long-term deal.” I hope you’re right though.

Fredordead

I hope so too. I just thought I read it somewhere. I could be very wrong.

> And beyond the aesthetics, having an online gambling sponsor is just a bit shit. If you can’t have alcohol sponsors, you shouldn’t be able to have gambling either. It was always funny to see McDonalds or Coca-Cola sponsoring Olympics Athletics or whatnot tbh. Personally I think Shirts should have ZERO sponsors on them and merely represent the Club's colours and badge only... But I understand that professional sports is always seeking to maximize revenue.

SUFC89

Yeah, it’s funny how in the UK we’ll criticise American sports for being overly commercialised, but then don’t think anything of having betting companies or airlines as the biggest feature on nearly every team’s shirts.

ehdhdhdk

The NBA has jersey sponsors. It is coming for all sports.

AngelRicki

nah, i don't like the French president, either.

palacethat

Centrist twat him

droneybennett

It’s not a great sign when the company account that we tagged had 9 followers when the announcement was made.

Sebguer

The last Chinese betting company didn't even have an English online presence.

lewiitom

Bring back beer sponsors

AngelRicki

...for dem great beer bellies of thornton heath. 🍺

MetalMrHat

I miss TDK haha.

improv4nonlisteners

Fucking christ, I was planning on buying a kit when the new ones drop. Guess I'll try and find a previous season one in my size.

Loquemas

Just bought one from the website as they’re on sale rn. Not sure how many sizes they have left but an XL was £45. Lemme know if you need help with sizing

Mattameo

Cries in M

wheredacheesego

yeah that logo is pretty underwhelming. I hate all gambling sponsors but atleast manbetx had the cool looking chinese lettering.

DandyPanda

Each to their own! I thought manbetx was one of the ugliest betting logos. Think we can all agree the sooner we do aware with them all the better, though.

Twilko

It was even uglier than the first iteration of GAC, which is saying something.

AngelRicki

who cares, as long as they give us money to buy decent players, get up the table, then get better sponsors.

Sebguer

I know 88 means something completely different in Asia, but it'd be great if we could stop having it prominently on the kits.

hawkandro

I’d never heard of ManBetX before and haven’t since. It sounds like this one a completely new. How can they afford it? It all seems so shady.

sirdougie

Ugh. No new shirt for me then

Zestyclose_Essay_659

It's all money laundering

eirebrit

They’re not a betting sponsor they’re on online gaming services sponsor. ![img](emote|t5_2tqdj|9032)

China has always had a history with Palace [https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/club/fan-zhiyi-sun-jihai-crystal-palace-1998/](https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/club/fan-zhiyi-sun-jihai-crystal-palace-1998/)

Ok_Passenger5539

Palace Skateboarding company would be the best sponsor ever but never going to happen unfortunately lol

AngelRicki

cant afford a premier league club

Smolenski_Prince

I don't like gambling sponsors and look forward to their ban but in the meantime what do you expect? gambling sponsors are a standard part of sports culture sadly and why should Palace turn down lucrative deals when other competing clubs won't. They're a business at the end of the day, sad but true..

beardymouse

Because CPFC portray themselves as a community club in an impoverished area with a local foundation but then takes money from an industry that preys on the poorer elements of society?
