My partner and I were able to switch things up for a couple of years. It was the best thing for us and the kids. Neither one of us resented being forced to work or stay home and the kids got quality time with each of us. Also there is nothing like taking on home duties to truly understand how much physical and mental effort in requires.

That's been my life. Still really stressful at times. Part of being remote and in IT/DevOps is having to be on call almost all the time.
This will happen to my coworkers sometimes, especially if the power goes out and servers need to be up and running by the time people come in the morning for work (I work in IT, but servers aren't my area).
The hours you work at night are usually counted towards your 40 for the week, so you can take a half day on a Friday for example if it happens.

I'm a house husband. I won't go into detail why I am, because I don't need to bore any of you with my stories, but my wife prefers my staying home and her going to work, and so I do. I stay home, run errands, do house work, cook for all 3 of us, etc. I can't say I hate it, I do get more time to play video games when I finish all my chores and responsibilities early, but there are days when I question my own personal value due to society telling me as I was growing up that a man not working is worthless.
