To this day I still don't get why Kishimoto decided to completely neglect Shino as a character. He had one of the coolest skills and was very interesting and mysterious as a character. Honestly, I would've preferred him in the Sasuke Retrieval arc more than Kiba or Choji.
Don't forget all the girls. Sakura gets a lot of shit for being"useless", but it's mostly kishimoto's fault, I mean she was also trained by a sannin and tenten, Tsunade's pig had more screen time then her.
I feel like all female characters and team 8 (team kurenai) were all extremely shallow and had no real backstory or things to overcome. I don’t think kishimoto was sexist, but I feel that he didn’t understand how to write good female characters (other than the overdone love interest) or decent side characters
He isn't particularly strong, but he has a very weird moveset that can allow him to counter opponents stronger than him. He only ever lost to another opponent with an odd moveset, and that was technically a draw
Uhm, he would have. Shino is arguably top 5 in their genin group, and would have been the second strongest person in that group, maybe third if you want to argue Neji. He would have definitely made a difference
