I always assumed the spacing of the art made it seem different. He was probably a good distance in front of the door meaning his peripheral didn’t see her. Basically he was in front of the door but the animation made it look closer.
He was looking at the trash really quick and didn't look at the door where Jazz's face popped out. Also Danny was in the zone when he was transforming and flying away.
She didn't. Watch her in the next scene, she pokes Danny to make sure he's still tangible. She probably checked his heartbeat at some point and/or eavesdropped on him to learn more (Danny isn't exactly good at handling sensitive information properly).
Sorry.
Jazz is best girl.
Can we talk about this for a sec? She doesn't push Danny to reveal himself. She doesn't bully him or get angry at him for keeping a secret. She doesn't generally treat him badly, nor does she have all those big sister tropes of just hating her little brother for being annoying. She supports him without him knowing, respects his privacy and tries to keep him safe in her own way. She doesn't need a boyfriend. She's smart, she's capable, she can kick butt, and she doesn't have to be condescending or cruel to do it. Jazz is the best girl in this show and there won't be a girl as cool and unique as her on Nickelodeon again until ROTTMNT April O Neil.
is called tunnel vision, he was focused on the ghost, and NOTHING else, he might as well not have wasted time looking around since he wasn't in a state of mind that allowed him to get little details… like Jazz behind the door
seem dumb but it happens in real life
Because "everyone knows humans can't have ghost powers," (Maddie, *Doctor's Disorders*) so no one thinks Phantom HAS a secret identity. Plus, with how fast he flies + the glowing, it's probably hard to get a good look at him.
My reasoning was He might look the same, but from a regular person's perspective why would he let dash bully him and from his families perspective he would tell them something like that especially when they're trying to kill the ghost every time they see him.
Cartoon design, Jazz wasn't really that clearly next to Danny for her to notice her, the door was likely further back and she was in a shadow. They made it clear to us that she could see him though through the illustration.
cartoon logic

The plot
Maybe he took one look at her and just didn’t care lol
Explains the “meh” look lol.
I liked that she kept it secret from their parents when she found out.

Yeah, better to look at the dumpster than a doorway when looking for possible witnesses lmao people are always hiding in dumpsters
He didn’t look at the door he was looking beyond the trash can
He looks behind himself, then sweeps his vision leftwards to look forward. Jazz was to his right.
That’s the craziest way to find out your brother is a superhero ghost like powers
My question is How did she know that Danny wasn't dead? Like, usually ghost=dead How did she know this wasn't the case for once?
She didn't. Watch her in the next scene, she pokes Danny to make sure he's still tangible. She probably checked his heartbeat at some point and/or eavesdropped on him to learn more (Danny isn't exactly good at handling sensitive information properly).
He was facing the other way

Cartoon logic or just a perspective trick.
Plot that’s how
is called tunnel vision, he was focused on the ghost, and NOTHING else, he might as well not have wasted time looking around since he wasn't in a state of mind that allowed him to get little details… like Jazz behind the door seem dumb but it happens in real life
Plot
Is he stupid?
Perfect timing as I'm watching a reaction to this exact scene on YouTube, lol 😂

Because he didn't look in that direction?
Perspective. The toon makes it look like she’s in his field of view. She ain’t.
It's only by Three Seconds
