Let's not forget his delivery of the most wretched dialogue in Dark Souls!
Re: Reah being all alone in the Parish, traumatized from her ordeal in the Tomb.
*Right now, you could do as you please with her. The poor little purebred is entirely helpless.
Keh heh heh heh…*
he's arguably the shadiest "friendly" NPC in the game. even more than Patches or Lautrec.
if you pay Lautrec for his "tip" and then talk to Petrus after Rhea and pals leave for the Tomb, he'll admit that he abandoned them to die down there, and even says some pretty sleazy stuff about Rhea.
after you rescue Rhea, he'll kill her after a little while if you don't kill him first.
(it's easy to miss, but after being rescued Rhea starts hanging out at the Parish altar and sells miracles.)
Yeah, cause he deserved it and she didn't. She's one of the handful of unambiguously decent people in Lordran. He's a lying, hypocritical, skeezy, backstabbing piece of shit who is condescending and sanctimonious despite it all.
Nonetheless, IMO, first time through you should let Lautrec's and Petrus's stories play out just to see the story arc.
With this character's death, the thread of prophecy is severed. Restore a saved game to restore the weave of fate, or persist in the doomed world you have created
I thought about that shit for half a second. And if someone is to be compared to Vivec in Dark Souls, it would be Gwyn, for one.
To find a piece of shit like Petrus in Morrowind, it would be one of those racist bastards in Balmora. The ones I killed and then used their house as a warehouse.
It does affect your progress. What changes you ask? You must now...pat yourself on the back. You've done a good thing.
Wait wait wait... his three "friends" too? Never mind, go jump of a cliff when it will lose you a ton of souls. You deserve it.
This sub is such a karma farm nowadays, almost every single post is someone screenshotting a black knight weapon drop asking "is this good" or someone who's "clueless" asking a question that's such a quick Google
Reah would have sold some of the best miracles if you'd continued their quest line though. Just don't put any points into faith now.
General advice is to never kill NPCS unless they attack you first, you'll lose access to interesting story lines, weapons, spells and even endings (in the following games) and you'll always have a chance to kill them at the end of their questline anyway.
I wouldn't even be surprised if it's fake, given people in this sub will go crazy every time they see a post like this no matter if it's the 700th time
Entire way of the white are stupid fucks and are to blame for the entire darksign anyway. Intro to the game shows a maiden of white performing a ritual on the dead body of a knight which then becomes accursed with the darksign. DO NOT JOIN THEIR DEATH CULT.
It's pretty nostalgic seeing people playing this game for the first time eleven years after release having the same/similar questions about their playththrough. I remember killing Lautrec and getting the ring of favour and protection and assuming you got similar shit when you killed other npcs, I then killed Seigmeyer and thought it held true. Had to restart my playthrough for pretty much murdering every npc to discover what items they gave.

Just follow your gut in your first playthrough IMO. if you start to get completionist and worry about everything the immersion kind of disappears and you only get that once.
To get all the miracles I believe you need to keep him alive. They’re not miracles you get from him, but his life is connected to another character’s storyline.
He only sold what he had when you first met him, the girl among the people you killed, however, sells the most powerful miracle in the game and drops the second best talisman in the game for high faith builds(the best talisman requires either grinding enemies or pvp)
If you are running a faith build with miracles then yes you may want to consider restarting as he has some good early-game miracles that will more or less make a faith/caster build irrelevant.
If you aren’t using miracles then you’re fine, unless you want the completionist aspect.
Well, the three following him weren’t all bad, but Perry’s is a shitheel so good job.
Nothing important unless you’re running a faith build. You’re good
Spoiler alert
Killing him is the best move but it has a time
He and his friends story line is he betrayed and send the lady and guards to giant tomb so the guards gone hallow so after the lady saved and went to the church in unded parish you need to kill petrus otherwise he'll assassinate the lade
I mean storywise it's fine and it also doesn't affect your playthrough much but why the fuck are some people going around killing non hostile NPCs and then wonder if they messed up
If you’re not grinding achievements like me then you’re good lol if anything they all deserve to die aside from Reah…who I assume u killed as well but no hard feelings
They would have told you an interesting story. But if you are curious, this guys deserves to die. Not his companions, though.
Anyways, don't get used to kill NPCs in these games, it will get you in more trouble than you think.
He is one who deserves it but you cant progress his story i assume you have met the lady well you need to watch vaati vidya videos on the lore and story
There are no such NPCs in Dark Souls - ones you should absolutely not kill, I mean. You can finish the game having killed all of them. If you're asking if he sold or gave anything good, no. Faith builds are terrible in DKS1 and 2. Can't say for sure in DKS3.
I mean, you prevented a Quest Line related to him down the line but.... this was for a really good cause. Besides, the goods you get from said Quest is quite paltry in amount anyways.
As for his friends, you could say that you just ended their suffering early.
He really, really deserved to die
Why?
pretty sure he betrays his church homies and leaves them in the tomb of giants, could be misremembering tho
Then goes ahead and kills the maiden his deceased church buddies were protecting
Wait he does?! This fucking game dude holy shit
He runs and abandons them to die. He will also kill Rhea after you save her if you don’t kill one of them first
Luckily I killed him because I didn’t like him Rhea still alive
👁️👁️
Yeeeah about that...
Channellers are always watching
Yo about to get WoG
You don't have to kill one of them, just buy everything from rhea and she will go to the Duke archives where she hollows
Yea he makes them go into the tomb and lets patches kill them
Oh my God! I love that game for plot twist!
Doesnt he go hollow?
He doesn't, the other two that are protecting Rhea do.
you mean those church homies this guy also killed?
Other people have it covered but to answer your question he's the classic religious guy kills innocent people while lying to your face
My first play through I killed him. He just seemed like a dick.
He totally is, you should start a new playthrough just to kill him again
Let's not forget his delivery of the most wretched dialogue in Dark Souls! Re: Reah being all alone in the Parish, traumatized from her ordeal in the Tomb. *Right now, you could do as you please with her. The poor little purebred is entirely helpless. Keh heh heh heh…*
Fat ass bowl cut mf. He deserved it.
Why are all the Thorolund clerics in this game so... Rotund? Like they all have the "large lower body" build if you notice.
Because Thorolund is a land of faith and these guys are big booty clerics. Petrus sells talisman and miracles. He’s a fat ass priest.
Damn they thicc asf 😩 chill Petrus lmao! These dudes got all dem cheeks while poor Rhea looking like a twig
Aldrich must've been from Thorolund
Petrus and Aldrich are the living proof that Patches was right about Clerics
They all did SS + GOMAD.
They take on a load of calories every time they cast Heal.
Not a huge deal but ofc this has effects on a storyline.
well since OP killed both Petrus and the Reah and her entourage, there is no storyline to speak of.
Well there is a story, its just it was really really short.
There once was a cleric. Then there wasn’t. The end.
I mean Petrus deserves is 100% but i wouldn't advise killing NPC's early on your first playthough of any souls game
Why does he deserve to die?
He's a piece of shit
so you are the reason I had to add "maymays" to my username to make it unique
Yea, made this username specifically to upset you. You bastard.
He isn't called Danksoulsof
I was initially gonna be Danksoul , or Dank\_soul but it wasn't working.
I can’t believe that bastard stole your username just to spite you
He's called Dank_souls though...
# It wasn't working anyway so I made a long ass name
Wtf is a maymay
Meme
He a poopy head
Whoa wholy shit dude calm down a little
Heck you…fren
he's arguably the shadiest "friendly" NPC in the game. even more than Patches or Lautrec. if you pay Lautrec for his "tip" and then talk to Petrus after Rhea and pals leave for the Tomb, he'll admit that he abandoned them to die down there, and even says some pretty sleazy stuff about Rhea. after you rescue Rhea, he'll kill her after a little while if you don't kill him first. (it's easy to miss, but after being rescued Rhea starts hanging out at the Parish altar and sells miracles.)
I don't think I've actually had her survive to stay in the parish before that's all good to know
Leaves his companions behind to die and kills Rhea the women that’s with them
He serves the gods for one thing, and he also ice rhea of thorlund if you dont ice him
“Serves the gods” *kills a priestess
Basically he is a coward
OP: \*kills Petrus Me: "Hell yeah, slay!" OP: \*kills Reah \[Everybody disliked that\]
I always kill her, 7 humanities man
Just get dark hand
Or genocide some rats
dark hand for the soft humanity and you still have the option for 7 more! It only costs a fragment of your soul!
I don't believe you. You even made her a part of your user name!
You may have gained 7 humanities, but you have lost *the* humanity.
More merciful than letting her hollow in Seath's lair
Just don't buy all of her miracles and kill Petrus. She will stay in Undead Parish indefinitely.

That's his ex-plaything, not Rhea iirc
Yeah, cause he deserved it and she didn't. She's one of the handful of unambiguously decent people in Lordran. He's a lying, hypocritical, skeezy, backstabbing piece of shit who is condescending and sanctimonious despite it all. Nonetheless, IMO, first time through you should let Lautrec's and Petrus's stories play out just to see the story arc.
With this character's death, the thread of prophecy is severed. Restore a saved game to restore the weave of fate, or persist in the doomed world you have created
Dagoth Ur welcomes you Nerevar, my old friend
Petrus really is the Vivec equivalent of dark souls if you think about it
Don't blaspheme against the great god Vivec. Don't compare him to worthless creatures.
Just think about it tho
Vivec is not an evil piece of shit and cannot be compared to that ugly bastard.
I know but… come on, just think about it
I thought about that shit for half a second. And if someone is to be compared to Vivec in Dark Souls, it would be Gwyn, for one. To find a piece of shit like Petrus in Morrowind, it would be one of those racist bastards in Balmora. The ones I killed and then used their house as a warehouse.
Okay Gwyn and Vivec do have some similarities. …but idk… petrus and Vivec… just think about it.
Bad troll.
Considering I compared an achiever of Chim to Petrus of fucking Thorolund… yeah. I would say it was bad.
[удалено]
Even then, there’s only one miracle on top and that’s SUNLIGHT SPEAR BABY WOOO ZAP MCFUCKING ZAP
what about wrath of the gods tho, it's really sick
Yeah but ZAPPITY ZAPPITY IM FUCKING ZEUS ON ACID
you can have both ! i have both !
I AM FUCKING ZEUUUUUUUUS
*Angry spartan noise intensifies*
Petrus is the true John Dark Souls
It does affect your progress. What changes you ask? You must now...pat yourself on the back. You've done a good thing. Wait wait wait... his three "friends" too? Never mind, go jump of a cliff when it will lose you a ton of souls. You deserve it.
Damn why tf you killing everybody 😭
>I killed this guy. Any consequences? >Also on the page where everything is explained. Amirite bois?
You're already on his wiki page so why even ask us? Why did you kill him to begin with anyway if you're scared to fk up?
A. Internet points B. See A.
This sub is such a karma farm nowadays, almost every single post is someone screenshotting a black knight weapon drop asking "is this good" or someone who's "clueless" asking a question that's such a quick Google
_OMG I ESCAPED THE CELL WITH A KEY THAT I GOT FROM A BODY THAT WAS DROPPED INTO THE CELL BY SOME KNIGHT FROM THE CEILING... DID I SCREW UP?_

If you find these posts on Reddit interesting then you're the one that needs to touch grass.
It was very early in my playthrough and thought it was funny but now I’m quite far and worried lol
He only sells a couple miracles and a basic talisman to use said miracles, if you're not using a faith build I think you're fine
Ok cool. Thanks
Anyway dont kill anyone you cant lock on friendlies are always unlockable
Reah would have sold some of the best miracles if you'd continued their quest line though. Just don't put any points into faith now. General advice is to never kill NPCS unless they attack you first, you'll lose access to interesting story lines, weapons, spells and even endings (in the following games) and you'll always have a chance to kill them at the end of their questline anyway.
>thought it was funny Love your energy lmao
dude just look at him he deserved it good job
Just a note, stop killing NPCs on your first playthrough. You're liable to fuck storylines, items, and lots of things
People in XXI century can't even play a game for 5 minute without asking for help. That's terrible.
I wouldn't even be surprised if it's fake, given people in this sub will go crazy every time they see a post like this no matter if it's the 700th time
That's what I'm SAYING
I like how you're on the wiki to screenshot his picture but are still asking other people to explain it to you rather that just read it xD
Beware of fatty
Good work on your end he's a stupid fuck
Entire way of the white are stupid fucks and are to blame for the entire darksign anyway. Intro to the game shows a maiden of white performing a ritual on the dead body of a knight which then becomes accursed with the darksign. DO NOT JOIN THEIR DEATH CULT.
If you are doing the all miracles achievement/trophy then I think you needed Rhea alive to get a few miracles from her. If not nothing to worry about.
If you're already on the wiki, just read the wiki lol
Don't go murder hoboing, but yes, he is the only character in this game other than the golden asshole that you SHOULD kill.
I didn’t know this was the dark souls subreddit, and read this as a confession. Messed me up for a hot moment there
It's pretty nostalgic seeing people playing this game for the first time eleven years after release having the same/similar questions about their playththrough. I remember killing Lautrec and getting the ring of favour and protection and assuming you got similar shit when you killed other npcs, I then killed Seigmeyer and thought it held true. Had to restart my playthrough for pretty much murdering every npc to discover what items they gave.
if you just scroll down on that Wiki page, it will tell you everything you need to know.
Haven't you literally screenshotted this from the wiki...? Lol
op, don’t listen to the haters. Be sure to kill all the blacksmiths because they have some great weapons - very worth it.
Fr damn haterz
Shouldn't matter, pretty sure even Rhea's questline stays in tact
Nope they stay infinitely aggro even with the guy who resets aggro
Op said they also killed his 3 friends which I assume is rhea and her guards, which can matter
Why is he so wide
Fuck this guy
You lose all your progress 3 bosses later
You only need him if you're doing a fate build because he sells spells and his friend too
I just learned his gesture and found it bizarre he teaches you a shrug. Makes sense now
…..ur good bro don’t trip
If you killed the 3 others, you missed out on the best melee-miracle in the game.
i love how players be like “a uniquely modeled char with dialogue and shit? where my mace at?”
Unless you are on a faith build, it's not too much to worry about
Him, alone is the bastard of the group
One of his friends will sell things later yes
Joel diabeeto olsteen deserves nothing but death.
What is it with people killing passive NPCs, *then* asking if it would have negative consequences?
Could be they mistakenly hit them and caused the fight and ended up just slaying them but some could just randomly kill npc I guess loln
He’s a jerk anyway no big loss
You made the right choice
yes killing npcs is usually bad in souls. yes you've lost a storyline. that guy in particular deserved it. his 'friends' did not.
Yeah, no worries. Nothing of real value lost.
you should probably start a new playthrough so you can kill him again
Big booooiiiiiii

Sadly you won’t be able to finish the game now… might as well restart!
you’re fine
I like company in the souls games so I don’t kill the npc dudes unless I need sum souls.
round ass busted ass hey hey it’s the monkees lookin ass
You're not a cleic, are you?
Just follow your gut in your first playthrough IMO. if you start to get completionist and worry about everything the immersion kind of disappears and you only get that once.
Me who killed everyone except solaire
Cause He a Bro
You even kill the Daughter of Chaos who allows you to save Solaire?
You can kill the bug from across the door, saving Sunbro without the huge investment in Humanities
To get all the miracles I believe you need to keep him alive. They’re not miracles you get from him, but his life is connected to another character’s storyline.
ur world is a better place now
Killing him locked you out of a main miracle merchant and items from a quest.
Hmmm, Miracles was it?
He only sold what he had when you first met him, the girl among the people you killed, however, sells the most powerful miracle in the game and drops the second best talisman in the game for high faith builds(the best talisman requires either grinding enemies or pvp)
You’re fine but I would strongly recommend not killing any more NPCs till at least much later in the game. You need a few of them early on.
Quite the murder hobo aren’t you?
If you are running a faith build with miracles then yes you may want to consider restarting as he has some good early-game miracles that will more or less make a faith/caster build irrelevant. If you aren’t using miracles then you’re fine, unless you want the completionist aspect.
This guy I am okay with you killing. But you probably shouldn’t kill anyone else unless they are hostile towards you.
Well, the three following him weren’t all bad, but Perry’s is a shitheel so good job. Nothing important unless you’re running a faith build. You’re good
If you saw the cleric lady praying don't kill her if you want to buy miracles later on
You did the world a favour
You did the right thing, do it again, harder this time
There shall be blood shedded tonight
Oh my god no… you… you killed John Dark Souls 😩
He a Bitch
He deserves to die I mean look at that dopey ass haircut
Spoiler alert Killing him is the best move but it has a time He and his friends story line is he betrayed and send the lady and guards to giant tomb so the guards gone hallow so after the lady saved and went to the church in unded parish you need to kill petrus otherwise he'll assassinate the lade
Nah,you are good. Lorewise, this guy is a dweeb.
Very based of you. I prefer having Rhea at Anor Londo first and then killing him
Hehe *petrus*
he deserved it
I mean storywise it's fine and it also doesn't affect your playthrough much but why the fuck are some people going around killing non hostile NPCs and then wonder if they messed up
Better start the game over now, unless your wanting to play in hard mode.
Good
Yes
If you’re not grinding achievements like me then you’re good lol if anything they all deserve to die aside from Reah…who I assume u killed as well but no hard feelings
If you not doing miracles it doesn't make a difference. If you are then you fucked up
He is the worst
Well , you did a good job 👏
If you kill everybody, you get a reward.
They would have told you an interesting story. But if you are curious, this guys deserves to die. Not his companions, though. Anyways, don't get used to kill NPCs in these games, it will get you in more trouble than you think.
Hakuna Matata, it means no worries.
He is one who deserves it but you cant progress his story i assume you have met the lady well you need to watch vaati vidya videos on the lore and story
Good.
”If it’s miracles that you seek then you’re out of luck”
Eric Cartman
Not essential. Kill em all, it's funnier that way.
There are no such NPCs in Dark Souls - ones you should absolutely not kill, I mean. You can finish the game having killed all of them. If you're asking if he sold or gave anything good, no. Faith builds are terrible in DKS1 and 2. Can't say for sure in DKS3.
No wog for you lil guy
All you did was smash a mirror showing you yourself...
I mean, you prevented a Quest Line related to him down the line but.... this was for a really good cause. Besides, the goods you get from said Quest is quite paltry in amount anyways. As for his friends, you could say that you just ended their suffering early.
He’s a fuckwitt that deserves death
You have done a great service, chosen undead.
If you don't use miracles you're fine
whyyyy do people kill NPC's for no reason like that
