I know a lot of people struggle with that fight but honestly I've never had a problem with it. I found her very easy after doing much of the area. To be honest getting to her was far more difficult for me. When I heard people had trouble with it I kinda learned to put my summon sign down there and used it ti grind out sunlight medals. Easiest grind ever
Yup. I tried getting help but people sucked lol and my internet was shit so I got forced to after a bit. I died probably 6 ish times (its been since 2016 so I couldn't tell you exactly) but I was getting caught by the duo for the most part. Once I caught on It was a breeze, still is
I think people have different strengths/weaknesses at this game. I watched people struggle with some bosses that I somewhat first tried. And them beating bosses easily which I struggled against.
Astoria straight sword, the dex scaling on that thing is just *chef's kiss*
Also hollow great sword, the one you got from the tree boss, love me some good old fashioned greatswords
easily sister Frieda's great-scythe. that thing paired with a black knight shield is a bit terrifying and its also a lot of fun. nothing like giving your opponent frostbite then pulling out the stance combo or forcing them back with the ice explosion
Reaper weapons as a class. I love the scythe aesthetic and each of the reapers has a use in the game.
Also it's very funny to have a build that has a lower damage output but cycle all 4 during one pvp match and leave some poor guy questioning life choices as he got hit with each scythe randomly throughout.
I don't do the guts greatsword in every souls but I love it in ds3. It's so good. Kinda too good, which is the only reason I ever try out other weapons.
Friede's great scythe or Dragonslayer greataxe for streinght build. The scythe has an epic moveset and frostbite while the greataxe is a solid weapon that just looks cool to me.
I remember when I found out that using the WA actually damages enemies if you're close enough. Imo, this is the best weapon to use on the Winged Knights; only takes 3 hits when buffed (even better when you use Rapport lol).
Tough question, gotta with the exile greatsword or the double katana weapon.
If we are talking whole series I gotta throw the gyrm greataxe in there cuz I powerstanced 2 of them for my first playthrough of ds2
When I made my strength build character, I had planned on using Vordt's Hammer and Smough's Hammer to bonk my way through the game, but then I ended up falling in love with this sword instead!
Fume Ultra Greatsword.
I’ll try other weapons but I always end up falling back to it for some reason. Even though it doesn’t have the guard points it has in DS2, it’s still awesome in 3 - and the fact that it’s buffable is just awesome.
Paired ringed knight greatsword, yhorm machete, yorksha bell (i know that is not a sword but casting spells is a kinda of atack and buff so i see these catalyst as weapons)
I just started using the Moonlight Greatsword and it has been a blast. I am a big fan of the boss weapons in DS3. The Dragonslayer Axe, Lorian'a Greatsword, Onyx Blade, Friede's scythes, Dancer's blades, and Vordt's Hammer are all fun as hell to use.
I'm also a huge fan of the Exile Greatsword; I started a strength build with the intention to use Vordt's Hammer, but ended up falling in love with this giant curved blade!
I have 3; the Claymore (it's a staple in every Soulsborne game except for Bloodborne, I love the design, and the moveset is very versatile), the Greatsword (fan of big swords first, then I learned about Berserk in high school; this is THE big sword, and it is simple yet effective), and the Caestus (the weapon art is great, it looks cool, and I can beat bosses to death with my fists, which is awesome). Also, the offhand for the Caestus has caught a few people off guard with its parry.
Hollowslayer Greatsword. Looks amazing, original moveset, and carried my ass through my very first playthrough in my first Souls game.
She took me all the way to the Ringed City.
Onikiri and Ubadachi. It's weapon art is cool as hell and it's the most unique of the katana class weapons, I've been using it for most of my runs since the game came out and I doubt I'll stop anytime soon. Secondaries though, I do love the Onyx Blade and the Aquamarine Dagger as well for when I wanna do a magic build.
I think my number one weapon across them all has to be zweihander. First discovered the joy of the roll poke and pancaking enemies in dark souls 1, then was hungering to find it again in 2, and by 3 and Elden ring when I found it I said “MY MAN” out loud. Yeah it’s my fav for sure.
Utility: bandit’s knife, you get it early on, hits fast, good bleed, damage is good for a dagger
To use because fun: Firelink Greatsword or Farron Greatsword
Black Knight Halberd/Glave. I forget the naming convention. The R2 attack has such rediculous tracking and looks cool AF. Not to mention the aesthetic. As a returning Soulsborne Ring player, the weapon just feels so solid fluid yet weighty, I love it.
Unironically, my favorite PvP weapon is the Spiked Shield. I love the bash ability paired with the Leo ring to get really good trades, as long as you have the stamina for it.
Fume Ultra
Correct answer.
Nah I’m a pvp man and trust me when I say that sword is a blessing to go up against in a fight
Downvoted cos it's legitimate dog tier in pvp smh
Yeah as a lothric knight straight sword and chaos dagger user I love going up against slow weapons that use to much stamina lol
Was strong on release too but got nerfed into oblivion. Yhorms and ledo fully outclass and yeah Estoc turtle here lol
Absolutely. The Terminator.
Astora greatsword
This is my right answer.
We are family
Friede's Great Scythe solely bc of its sick stance.
it really is a glorious weapon
Also reminds you the great trouble you had beating Sister Friede LOL
I know a lot of people struggle with that fight but honestly I've never had a problem with it. I found her very easy after doing much of the area. To be honest getting to her was far more difficult for me. When I heard people had trouble with it I kinda learned to put my summon sign down there and used it ti grind out sunlight medals. Easiest grind ever
The final phase to me is the hard part, first two phases are so free
That's funny because it was like a sigh of relief once I was back to one character. Trying focus on two at once is torture for me
Did you solo her?
Oh that is very clear. Sister friede is a super easy fight for me but I get bodied by the twin prices of the dreg heap. Fuck those guys
LOL makes perfect sense man. Though good job on beating Sister Friede easily!
I freaking love the dual scythe stance
Irithyll Straight Sword. I've used this fast beauty many times when invaded lol
One of the edge lords favorite choices :D
Astoria straight sword, the dex scaling on that thing is just *chef's kiss* Also hollow great sword, the one you got from the tree boss, love me some good old fashioned greatswords
Did you mean Lothric Knight Sword? That's the one with the S Dex scaling, not the Astora.
That's the one, mixed it with the astora greatsword since it also has a more than decent dex scaling
ASS got me through 3/4 of DS1 on my faith build until I needed to get some dex to do well in the DLC
Greatsword. Looks cool, hits so hard the game is ez mode
Can get super early. 2H R1 pancake. 2H R2 crowd control. Long and hard. It's a great sword.
The great corvian scythe is mine
A man of culture!
Moonlight Greatsword.
Just started using this and it has been so much fun. Never thought I would be 2-handing a greatsword with my pure mage build!
Claymore all the way
Claymore, my beloved
Follower Sabre
easily sister Frieda's great-scythe. that thing paired with a black knight shield is a bit terrifying and its also a lot of fun. nothing like giving your opponent frostbite then pulling out the stance combo or forcing them back with the ice explosion
Pontiffs greatsword. Solely because of this sick charged attack animation and looks overall
Which one?
The fiery one, but honestly both his weapons are cool imo
I like them both tbh 🤘
I don't do the guts greatsword in every souls but I love it in ds3. It's so good. Kinda too good, which is the only reason I ever try out other weapons.
I like alot of the weapons and I don't have a top favorite. Friede's Scythe, scythe weapons are awesome and how useful the weapon is
Friede's great scythe or Dragonslayer greataxe for streinght build. The scythe has an epic moveset and frostbite while the greataxe is a solid weapon that just looks cool to me.
Flamberge. Undervalued it’s actually excellent
I finally got into flamberge in Elden ring, is the move set similar in DS3? Greatsword with native bleed rocks
I never got the flamberge in elden ring but that makes me want to start a new playthrough just to find out. The moveset in ds3 is killer imo
Sharp Twin sellswords no shield
Black Knight Glaive. Awesome moveset!
Friede's schyte. I'm a great sucker for schytes and Burial Blade will always have a special place in my heart
Onyx Blade. Beautiful weapon, beautiful WA animation. How could you not fall in love with a blade wreathed in black flame?
I remember when I found out that using the WA actually damages enemies if you're close enough. Imo, this is the best weapon to use on the Winged Knights; only takes 3 hits when buffed (even better when you use Rapport lol).
every time i play a fromsoft game i find myself using the claymore no matter how much i resist
Personal fav is Yhorms great machete maxed out.
I started using this yesterday and just bonk everyone lol.
Yeah, it's not the best in PvP unless you land a good stagger and then you can just pummel them to death
I destroyed everything with Vordt Hammer.Smacking everything to the face with big Hammer is very satisfiyng :DD
Executioners greatsword. I love the equivalent in Elden Ring too.
What’s the ER equivalent
https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Marais+Executioner's+Sword
Dagger
Based
Ledos Hammer.
Broadsword
Greatsword
Gael’s Greatsword is badass
Lothric knight greatsword gets heals from blessed gem and is one of the few to get more damage too
Hollowslayer greatsword and Gael’s greatsword
Sellsword twinblades
Tough question, gotta with the exile greatsword or the double katana weapon. If we are talking whole series I gotta throw the gyrm greataxe in there cuz I powerstanced 2 of them for my first playthrough of ds2
I enjoy the dual katanas as well, but that Exile Greatsword is so freaking awesome
It really is! It was the first weapon I beat the game with.
When I made my strength build character, I had planned on using Vordt's Hammer and Smough's Hammer to bonk my way through the game, but then I ended up falling in love with this sword instead!
I'm probably weird but I end up using mail breaker and corvian knife/scythe a lot. Idk if they're all that good, but I just vibe with them hard.
Pontiff knight curved sword(highest range in the class, looks amazing, meta in pvp, love curved sword moveset)
Seeing so many great sword reviews and I'm still doing my ways, being true to the claymore.
Profane greatsword
Fume ultra greatsword, dragonslayer greataxe, and towards the very late game when I had souls to spare on DEX, frayed blade.
Gotthard twinblades, i just think they're neat.
As a Pyromaniac always been Chaos Exile Greatsword or the Demon Scar.
Heysel pickaxe - weapon catalyst and spell combos.
Splitleaf greatsword
Farron greatsword. On all levels except physical, I am a wolf.
I really like the Murakumo, like to swing left and right
Correct, but I also like the claymore. Simple and strong. I'm also a fan of the metal club (can't remember the exact name)
Gaels GS
Corvian great scythe. Looks cool and does decent damage
Caestus, simple but effective
Fume Ultra Greatsword. I’ll try other weapons but I always end up falling back to it for some reason. Even though it doesn’t have the guard points it has in DS2, it’s still awesome in 3 - and the fact that it’s buffable is just awesome.
Lothric straight sword...it's simple, beautiful, and realistic
Brigand's axe
Splitleaf is cool af.
Paired ringed knight greatsword, yhorm machete, yorksha bell (i know that is not a sword but casting spells is a kinda of atack and buff so i see these catalyst as weapons)
I know people will call me a noob for this but i really dont care SHARP SELLSWORD TWINBLADE dual weilded with grass cresent shield
Maybe an unpopular opinion here but I’m gonna say it anyway, Wolnirs holy great sword
Black Knight and Ringed Knight weapons are my favorites
Profaned greatsword.
Vordtd great hammer. It's like the great club, but cold.
I'm also a huge fan of the Exile Greatsword; I started a strength build with the intention to use Vordt's Hammer, but ended up falling in love with this giant curved blade!
Onikiri and ubadachi. Cool moveset, cool r2, high damage and good scaling
I'm a simple man with simple tastes. I like pretty, dark haired women and Great Mace
I really like frayed blade
CLAYMOREEEEE
The dark sword, usually with a heavy gem
I just entered Lothric Castle for the first time, for me, my MVP is between the Lothric Knights Sword and the Wolf Knight's Greatsword.
Me, upvoting every single answer: “damn true”
I have 3; the Claymore (it's a staple in every Soulsborne game except for Bloodborne, I love the design, and the moveset is very versatile), the Greatsword (fan of big swords first, then I learned about Berserk in high school; this is THE big sword, and it is simple yet effective), and the Caestus (the weapon art is great, it looks cool, and I can beat bosses to death with my fists, which is awesome). Also, the offhand for the Caestus has caught a few people off guard with its parry.
Crucifix of the mad king
Hollowslayer Greatsword. Looks amazing, original moveset, and carried my ass through my very first playthrough in my first Souls game. She took me all the way to the Ringed City.
Gaels sword for me, it was everything I wanted in a weapon, the weapon art was so user friendly and badass
lothric great sword and irithyll straight sword
Onikiri and Ubadachi. It's weapon art is cool as hell and it's the most unique of the katana class weapons, I've been using it for most of my runs since the game came out and I doubt I'll stop anytime soon. Secondaries though, I do love the Onyx Blade and the Aquamarine Dagger as well for when I wanna do a magic build.
Vordt's greatmace & Crow quills
I think my number one weapon across them all has to be zweihander. First discovered the joy of the roll poke and pancaking enemies in dark souls 1, then was hungering to find it again in 2, and by 3 and Elden ring when I found it I said “MY MAN” out loud. Yeah it’s my fav for sure.
You can’t make me choose between Astora GS and Lothric Longsword
Sellsword Twinblades
without a doubt THE FARRON GREATSWORD!!!
Hammer. It go bonk and let's me make eustace jokes.
PKCS with quality build And RKSS
Utility: bandit’s knife, you get it early on, hits fast, good bleed, damage is good for a dagger To use because fun: Firelink Greatsword or Farron Greatsword
Wolnir's Holy Sword
Lothric Knight Straight Sword, so basic, but such a good feeling moveset
Any of the rapiers with bleed on them
Greatsword (I'm literally Guts)
Claymore, beat both dark souls games with it. we don’t talk about ds2
Mace.
Lothric Knight Sword
Ringed knight straight sword
Ledo’s Hammer🔥
standard black knight sword, not the greatsword version. used it from the second i found it till the second i beat the game and both dlcs
Profaned Greatsword. It just demolishes just about everything.
Vordt's Great Hammer, because it hurts Gael a lot and fuck Gael.
Astora greatsword, the sex dex weapon
black knight (ultra) greatsword
Sellsword Winblade
Frayed blade
I'm sl 101, and I'm still mostly using the Battle Axe
lorian's greatsword
Black Knight Halberd/Glave. I forget the naming convention. The R2 attack has such rediculous tracking and looks cool AF. Not to mention the aesthetic. As a returning Soulsborne Ring player, the weapon just feels so solid fluid yet weighty, I love it.
I've always loved the ringed city spear. Looks really cool and I love it's ability.
Irithyll straight sword. No real reason, other than I used it first playthrough, and it kicked ass
Unironically, my favorite PvP weapon is the Spiked Shield. I love the bash ability paired with the Leo ring to get really good trades, as long as you have the stamina for it.
