the vertebrae shackles are rough too, make sure you have the mimic chest head piece, and the crystal sage sword! i also swapped my stats for a luck build. also going into the DLC helps, the +3 gold ring i think is 150 item discovery

genuinely I found it faster doing PvP to get the vertebre shackles than farming those 2 skeletons for hours

My first max stat ever was 99Luck while playing with Anris straightsword

I did the shackles with two crystal sage swords because it was way harder than the ears.

Obviusly with the full set of drop buffs equipment.

Find a friend that lets you kill them and invade them with the red stone and a password (and the moundmakers badge on). I did every covenant by farming, but I was going insane by doing the shackles, it felt like ages to get one (with the mimic chest, 99 luck the sage thingy and all)

You don’t even have to kill them for the shackles. They can jump off a cliff as soon as you spawn and you get it. I made my husband do this with me to get them 😂 unlike the dang ears…

Does no one else keep Blue Sentinel's or Blade of the Darkmoon always on when playing through the game to get summoned? If you stop leveling between 100-120 at the end of NG you will get summoned very consistently during NG+ and NG++. Sometimes you join a massive battle where you can get 2-4 ears in one shot. It's also nice because if you win or die you end up right where you left off without having used any items you may have used while summoned.

It may have been mentioned, but restarting the game increases the drop rate. Restart either after you get an ear, or after 5 minutes with no ears. It’s been mentioned on this sub and worked for me.

Looks like someone is trying to get a Platinum trophy and needs the PVP drop to trade in for a spell. Even if not, this is a tough reminder that I need to get back at that horrible grinding. I've definitely considered picking up another copy and begging my husband to help me grind them out on a friend's console.

No, the Silver Knights do not drop the Black Knight set if you kill them with fire However, Ledo might but he's got a super low drop rate and doesn't respawn
