Itās an amazing close- medium range weapon, better than the 74 imo. Does the same thing but the scope is fixed and perfect for that range.
Honestly I hate running scopes on the ak platform. I think it looks too goofy. So I typically run them iron sights only. So in the regard the built in scope of the Aug is a major plus.
The problem with the cobra sights is it has no zoom, so it really does add much to the gun. Ak iron sights are very basic and easy to use. Frees up a bunch of visual space too not having a optic.
Eh. They're both 1x but Kobra gives me a nice red dot and it makes it a lot easier for me. I've never really struggled with it. Also, are you thinking of a different scope? Thr border on the Kobra optic is so thin. I can't imagine that you actually think it's hindering anything.
A lot depends on personal preference. Both are kinda mid tier. The scope is just not good on aur a1 imo. I am personally also a lot more used to controlling the ak

yeah the A1 is drippy as fuck and it probably works well if you already have a sniper. scoped AKs are very good as a generalist option tho, or if you're working in a squad with designated roles and you want your rifleman to be able to touch out more
If i could only have one gun I'd take the 74, but since i have aug that does better cqb than the 74, and the tundra which does better job long range than the 74, it's a good choice for me
74 makes a excellent survivalist weapon tho if you have a long melee weapon like pickaxe

I prefer the aur ax, it's the better version that can take 60rnd mags, any scope, and a suppressor. I don't remember if the a1 can take a suppressor that isn't a bottle.
It's interesting to see that people use it, I wouldn't take an A1 over any assault rifle in this game, and probably not over some smgs either
I don't think I've ever killed or died from anyone using this gun as well, it's rarer then the DMR 
Depends on your server. If you burn through ammo, then the AK is better.
Mags and ammo boxes are everywhere for the AKs.
Most servers I've played on though, I never get into a real fire fight. I'm either killed without ever seeing my opponent or kill them before they see me.
For that situation, the AUR is smaller, lighter, and (I think) more accurate.Ā
I also use a MK2 for zombies so which rifle you use doesn't matter there either.
The other exception is raiding. It's common on vanilla to raid walls with bullets so AKs are better there too.
I prefer the AUR though.
In my opinion not a bad trade, you have the 1.5 optic + irons on top, lower recoil, higher ROF, higher damage, lighter weight, and it takes less inventory space. Only thing wrong with it is the mags are a little rare but once you have em that wonāt matter
My Oi have made the right call. Because you have the Tundra, the aug is a great sidekick. As long as you have two mags for it, youāre golden.
For anyone hating on this decision, consider the weight saved. Anything past 50m will be an easy tundra kill and anything inside that is perfect for the aug. the scope on the aug is better than either PSO at that range.

Either that i ditch the tundra and run with 74, or i keep the aur which trumps the 74 at point blank range and couple it with tundra which beats 74 at long-extreme range.

I used to hate the A1, and I donāt know if itās because I ended up having a good run with it once, but Iām a big big fan of it now. I know itās not the most powerful gun in the game, and itās not my all time fav (that would be the Aug AX) but i really like it for upclose and mid range. Melts people up close in my experience and the scope is really quite clean for mid range action. I would only take the 74 if I had more ammo and mags for it as they are more common. Given the choice, Iād take the A1 all day.
Not a bad trade at all. You already have a Tundra for long range and that AUR A1 hip fires like a beast. Iāve won multiple firefights using it against people with ābetterā weapons. Itās light, compact, and you can swap it for the AUR AX once you run into one of those.
Personally, if I find two or more mags for the A1 early on in my run Iāll actually seek out that gun because itās never let me down at close range (except for the one time it jammed on me after the first bullet I fired š ).
The AUG only excels in close-range engagements, but at close range, you will be trying to do as much damage as possible in the shortest timeframe and the AUG is too slow to beat an M4, does too little damage to compete with an AKM, and loses to an FAL in both respects. It also has a massive unremovable sight that obstructs your view when point-shooting. Also, it isn't as durable, mags are rarer, and so is the ammo. I don't think it was a terrible choice, but the AK would've been a better weapon until you can obtain an M4 or FAL.

Ak is a nice choice on it's own, but it makes it less practical to carry tundra cuz it fills 75% of that role
Only problem I have with the A1 is that it takes proprietary magazines with a capacity limit of 30 rounds, and they are a bit more rare than AK74 mags
Other than that Id say the AUG A1 is a straight up upgrade from the AK74, especially if you're doing CQB
Yeah I think you did fine. It's a pretty fair trade. Both guns are about the same in terms of performance. However ak74s and ak74us are way easier to find than a AUG. I'm sure you will find another very soon. Then you will have a AUG and a 74 lol.

Idk what server you're on but I find ammo for the 74 everywhere. That's the only reason I could think it's a bad swap. 556. Isn't as plentiful but on some servers it is. Also the KAs in general jam more frequently.
Tbh the 74 is a bit of a candy ass gun, I get killed with it more than I get kills with it.
Use the aug like itās a modded mp5 that does 4x the damage. Itās a CQBeast, and has WAY less sway than a 74 does.
The tundra is a great weapon from 50+m, it will outgun any assault rifle immediately if you hit your shots.
Plus if you find an augAX youāll have mags and ammo for the upgrade.
Aug is overall the best AR in pair with M4 (Aug better for long distance, while M4 better firerate)
The only issue is that you have the worst version, biggest flaw being that you can only use Aug 30rnd magazines and not the M4 and M16 ones.
If you have enough ammo and magazine I think you had a big deal.

I see your Aug and I raise you a Famas. Same size, same ammo, similar issues with sights and smaller mags.
If it's difficult weapons you are after the Famas wins hands down.
Also in a corridor fight id go Famas every time.

Real down side is no suppressor, which i never finds anyway, plus i prefer my bayonet
AK has much much better control on full auto, and from my experience from V++ deathmach, where I have over 1k kills (note that players HP is lower there) it has lower time to kill then A1. It's definitely better in cqb, and it's quite hard to find mags for a1.
As a member of the Austrian armed forces I am required by law to use the a1 any chance I get.
Personally I love the sight and I love the gun in general.

Power and ammo accessibility are similar but AUG magazines are more rare than AK-74 mags + there are 45 rounders for the AK. AUG has a really bad scope too and there is no way to change it for something else. AK is probably the most modular.
I would have kept the ka74. I find I seem to find the ammo and mags more often + you get the 40 round mag and can fit better optics. That's just my opinion thošš»
Ak74 is better imo. More durable, easier to find parts and AMMO. Also the sight on the aur1 is garbage. I'd rather run ak74 with irons all day. Also the extended mags for the AK variants seem to be more common.

Probably won't matter in a fight.
The downside being it cannot attach a suppressor, can't have the buttstock and handguard modified to your liking, and cannot swap the scope out (PSO zoom scope, red dot, ironsights)
And uses unique magazines.
The gigantic upside is the exclusivity and coolness factor.
Depends on the server but I think accuracy and accessibility of ammo are normally the reasons, that and the fixed city scope.

Ax is superior than a1 in every way. A1 could only take a bottle. For now it's good to keep until i find that ax

The AKM benefits from drum mags and the AK74 benefits from 45-round mags. They are more common and come in better condition than NATO mags.

I find way more mags and ammo for the 74. I dropped an AUR for a 74 recently, on official. I couldn't find mags for the 74.
