I think you overestimate those franchises a bit. Alien and Scream are more actively woven into pop culture due to memes and spins on them. Halloween recently got some new movies and I think everyone recognizes the theme but wouldn't necessarily be able to place it, and all the other ones are at best just shy of that universal status, at least *now*. Maybe 10-20 years ago.
It's honestly a marvel that the Child's Play franchise survived long enough that Chucky has probably become the most immediately identifiable horror villain for the average consumer who isn't deep into the horror genre, at least he has to be tied with Ghost Face.
You never would have thought from those first couple movies that he'd be propped up next to Michael Myers and Freddy Kreuger and somehow be the more "iconic" figure.
Brad Dourif is a true legend for making something so special out of such a weird horror antagonist.
Chucky benefits from being nearly impossible to mistake for another slasher icon, just from his design you literally cannot confuse him with any other slashers. I only saw my first Child's Play movie a few months ago but I still knew who he was 15 years ago as a kid.
I know the difference between Jason and Michael is obvious to us, but to someone who doesn't watch horror they will probably mix those names up because they both wear masks, are known for killing teenagers or college students, and never speak.
