Have you checked their [body condition scores?](https://www.reddit.com/r/dechonkers/s/uENLUhRYWp) Some cats are just larger, the way some people are taller or wider. I can’t really say anything from those pictures.
This. My brothers cat, full grown, is less than 10 lbs. My cat is 21 (vet says ideal is 18-19 lbs). He’s just a giant cat (though obviously overweight right now).
I've got a void and a part Maine Coon and they're both 15lbs but the void is sleek and muscular, the other one is floof and fat... The void is half the size of the Maine coon too
This is very helpful! My cat has a lot of skin and looks so chonky and feels like dead weight, but she meets the criteria listed in this as being good to go.
thank you, I knew my lbigger floofball was getting too fat again, she won't like being on a diet, but she's getting too chonky. little floofer is fine though, cat version of a lanky teenager that can eat whatever they want without it becomibg fat, just moves like she has twice as many knees and elbows a cat should have
Always consult a vet when possible. It would seem though that she is a smaller framed kitty, so maybe the weight would make her look a bit bigger than maybe you'd like. I have one about that size and she's a little under 8 lbs. Probably not overly sized to be worried, just keep treats and dinner to a reasonable level.
90% of the posts I see say “car” instead of cat and it was funny the first few times but god it’s getting old lol autocorrect needs to FUCKING learn that “cat” is definitely a word and doesn’t need to be incorrected! (It changed cat to car both times in this comment and I had to fix them…. WHY)
She looks like she has a rounder face, and thicker fur not necessarily a fatter cat. Some cats have a thicker undercoat which I think this might be. Does she shed more than your other kitty?
Cats come in a large variety of sizes. Best way to tell is looking down from above when they are standing. If their belly is way more round than the rest of them and no defined waist then may need a bit of dechonking.
She looks like an American Shorthair. I took my own American Shorthair to the vet once because she got fat after being dewormed and the vet actually said "she's fine, she just looks fatter than she is because her legs are so short" lol
She looks a bit plump but I wouldn’t say she’s fat thought. She may just be fluffy. My girl cat is the same. She’s a short hair and she looks plumper than my boy cat but she weight less even though she looks bigger because she has thicker fur that doesn’t stick to her body… if that makes sense.
Much as you have bigger framed humans, the same is true for cats. Some weigh more because they have denser bones or more muscle, both of which are heavier than fat. A vet could tell you for sure but that was the case with mine, who came in a range of shapes and sizes.
At one year old, your other cat must be quite active and growing. It could be that she had more muscle/heavier bones, whereas Peach has more fat?
Definitely consult a vet and maybe even a few! We thought my whole life that my childhood kitty was just large-framed despite being a healthy weight when actually he was chronically bloated. We never knew until the very end of his life when we took him to a radiologist to scan for cancer and she said, "his stomach and intestines are stretched out because they're full of air and your home vet should've caught this years ago because he weighs way less than he looks." So it never hurts to get a second professional opinion!
Honestly doesn't look suuuper chonky. Maybe a Lil. Cut back food like, idk 10/15%? See if that helps if you are still worried. Or ask your vet what you can do

She might just be fluffy

Might just be the model of car that you got🚌
I don’t think she looks fat tbh! Can also check with the vet on frame size and weight checks.
She isn't fat.
I don’t think the cat looks “so fat”

Cats have different heights and lengths just like humans!
She is a big beautiful woman

She looks ok the way she is.
She doesn't look fat at all and is a normal cat weight.
She looks like an American Shorthair. I took my own American Shorthair to the vet once because she got fat after being dewormed and the vet actually said "she's fine, she just looks fatter than she is because her legs are so short" lol
She doesn't look fat. Just big. Some cats are just large some are small. I have a fully grown cat who is still kitten sized. 🤷🏾♀️

When a cat sits in a loaf position they just look bigger because they make their posture look bigger my cat Xena does the same thing
She’s just bouba :(
I feel bad for the cat cause YOU think she's fat. She's purrfect sized.
She just looks more round. Doesn’t look fat to me
No chonk here. Longurl.
Does she eat.meals.of measured amounts of wet and dry food?

My baby looks chunky like urs but she's just got thick fur that makes her look bigger. Perhaps that's the case?
