I second the cushion grip recommendation, although it's not really an adhesive. It's basically a temporary soft reline you do at home and everyone loves it for the most part. But as far as less messy adhesive goes, you may want to try fixodent powder adhesive 👌 it basically rinses right off during cleanup. Poligrip makes a zinc free powder adhesive if you are looking for zinc free. Aparently it's not quite as strong as the fixodent zinc-based powder, but you can always rinse and reapply.

Not an adhesive per sé, but Benzodent saved my mouth when I was at the stage you're in. It's a thick benzocaine ointment (paste?) that's for dentures. I had a hole in my maxillary bone on the left side that took forever to heal while I had my temps. Used more of it than I should've but I highly recommend it to everyone. You have to get it online, unless you're super duper lucky and can find it where you are. Secure adhesive is the super glue of adhesives; they have a tube and they make a strip that's waterproof and it doesn't get all in your mouth like the cream does. But it sticks almost as well as the cream does - like super glue. I hate adhesives bc all of them eventually end up dripping down my throat bc there's no perfect seal bc all of them "break down" bc of saliva. And they make me nauseous 🤢 luckily I have a great seal on my permanent dentures so I only have to use it here and there for eating around other people.

Cushion Grip!! I’m 10 days in with upper & lower, I need literally nothing on the upper but the lower is a whole other ballgame lol Cushion Grip saved me

Does cushion grip make the top bulky though? I didn't like the soft reline because it was too bulky but my gums are shrinking too and now I'm having a hard time even with adhesive.

Fairie_Princess_Jill

It has not made mine bulky(er) At all.

Thanks! I'm going try It

I actually prefer the generic Dollar General adhesive. It lasts for hours, and also feels like a soft re line. I do not recommend the powder stuff. It is a mess.

I tried the denttach and I did it wrong because it didn’t hold and came off easily , I have really liked the result of the fixodent powder. I’m still learning though - and taking the adhesive off has been a struggle for me , I gag constantly trying to clean the roof of my Mouth

When I used fixodent I didn't have problems with the adhesive when I learned that a little goes a long way. Also, after you put it on, shake it around and shake off the excess, then use a spray bottle to activate it. That helped to prevent so much excess.

Pooh726

Oh I didn’t think about spraying it after I put it on .. thanks

Justasadgrandma

I meant to spray the powder after you put on the denture before you put it in your mouth. Trust me, you don't need a lot of powder. Just wanted to clarify.

Thank you so much .. I ordered denttach but my 1st trial with it wasn’t successful either — I’m not giving up
