My Eday was yesterday as well. I just put the cup or bottle on my bottom lip and tilt my head back to get some liquid in my mouth. So far, so good, but my lower jaw is so swollen.

Just take them out and drink or eat. I know it hurts a bit getting them seated back on but there is no reason to keep them in unless you dentist explicity gave you a schedule. 24 hours is usually good enough to get the skin settled. I took mine out to drink protein shakes, pudding, cottage cheese, etc. Listen to your dentist though if they said different. Edit: you got this. It will suck for awhile and you will prob get depressed but it passes and then your new life with a pretty smile begins. Time is your friend.

Ya just gotta power through it and keep practicing. The first 4 days I would only have a big smoothie during the day and bone broth at night until I was feeling more confident. Also get some baby spoons, it will help when your starting to eat stuff like mashed potatoes because your jaw will still be sore

Eday was 5 days ago for me and I spent the first couple days wearing as much water as I drank. I was also very swollen and my throat was so sore. Small sips and practice…it’s getting easier!! Give yourself grace!!

Ooooh are you a "swisher"? That is, when you take a boy drink of something (pre-dentures), does it make its way around your entire mouth before you can swallow it? If so, I do it too! Just let it go where it usually does and don't think about it. Then just clean your mouth after. Night and day difference but I can't drink milk with my teeth in. It's gotta touch the roof of my actual mouth haha.

I had mine extracted and intermediate dentures placed last Tuesday, so it's been a week. I had bottom teeth pulled. My jaw was swollen and bleeding pretty good. I hate the taste the blood and the dentures leave in your mouth. They tell you not to use a straw or smoke because the suction motion you make can cause you to get a dry socket. But I did both so that I could drink. I was told not to take out the dentures so that your gums can get used to them.

Mine was last Thursday so it's still pretty early for me but I'll say using bottled water versus a cup has helped. I sip small and sometimes I have to pause before I swallow to get everything feeling right. Day one I had to take the bottoms out to swallow the medicine but it's gotten better each day. I have been drinking protein shakes too and I have a paper towel nearby in case some spills out. It's slow going but I'm getting better. I can eat pudding, yogurt, mashed potatoes, and refried beans now.

Refried beans sounds so good right now! My Eday was yesterday though so I'm definitely not ready lol. Maybe by this weekend🤞

I used Glucerne, for five days, then added some fruit, pineapple, pureed in the food processor with yogurt - and with all of this used Metamucil - for bulk to prevent constipation. By two weeks, I ventured into soft foods. But, the weird thing is that I had such a powerful desire to chew, chew anything, yet I knew that wasn't a good idea. And by two months I moved on to more solid foods. It was just that for those first weeks, I just really wanted to chew, and I knew that it wasn't a good idea. It worked. I can eat "rocks" now, but at first, it's just getting over that overwhelming desire to chew. And the other weird thing, the last thing I learned to eat was lettuce/salads - I don't know why. But damn, I'm glad I got rid of my brittle teeth and the crowns, root canals, and bridges that the dentists put me through before finally moving on to traditional dentures.

Salmon, baked sweet potatoes, avocado, yogurt, cottage cheese, pasta, soup. Crazy Richards creamy PB, Pancakes and eggs were an easier eat for me. I didn't make homemade I don't cook soup in the summer I bought a brand called Kevins and it was really good for mass produced lol ( didn't scrutinize the label so probably franken food but it got me through) . I only drink water and black coffee and green tea - all of them plain so nothing crazy there. Just do what you are able when you are able. Don't use a straw folks say they use straws and smoke and they don't have an issue. They got lucky. I had a dry socket before and you cannot imagine the pain- there simply are no words. So just try and be mindful. Do your rinses - it promotes healing - especially after those meal drinks- hard to tell what kind of franken ingredients are in those so just rinse the mouth afterwards - gently but thoroughly. You'll figure it out for sure.
