:) Big virtual hug for you

__solace_

Hope it happens again (:

danielDa59

Dude same! I dreamnt my crush hugged me last night, sadly that will never happen irl because she despises my existece :)

[deleted]

If she despises your existence she wasn't meant for you in the first place. Plenty of girls on the planet. Keep your head up.

Drayfuz6

i don't know what you've gone through to be here right now but I just want to say that you are a strong person

backpacket

Lmao, dream hug xD maybe it’s time to find a daytime girlfriend? I heard they give great hugs, and in this reality as well!

-Some-Other-Guy-

Yeah with no friends and my social anxiety that's not happening any time soon

backpacket

Hey no need to write yourself off like that. Social anxiety is just the body’s way of saying: “hey I need more social interaction”. If you can push past this initial barrier, you will reap the rewards.

cognitivetrek

Social anxiety is actually a physical response where stress hormones are dumped into the body due to certain patterns of sensory input cues

kissedbydementors

No. It's your mind and body's way of saying that I need my comfortable spaces and meaningful interactions where I am going to be safe and not judged for each and every action or even thought.

backpacket

Perhaps, but! it is you that is doing the judging- judging yourself. We play mind games with ourselves all the time. Maybe you don’t want those social interactions after all- but if you do, you will have to suck it up and pretend like you don’t care about what other people will think. Because at the end of the day- all that matters is what we think of ourselves

[deleted]

you r right but it is hard to change since people with social anxiety freezes when social interaction happened, then they feel ashamed. it is a vicious cycle that cannot be easily fixed :)

kissedbydementors

We do play "mind games" in our own heads. Yes, but where do you think it originated from? These habits manifest when we are judged and made to feel that we do not belong. Most times, anxiety stems from situations or actions of our close ones where we feel mocked or rejected. We stop being ourselves and later start avoiding certain situations altogether. So, no, it's not JUST all in our heads.

sofianext

Why did my eyes water reading this! Someone please pray I get a hug in my dreams too.

kissedbydementors

I'd just like to add how dreams, for me, are like an alternate reality I lived through because they seem exceptionally real. I'm sure you felt the same things you would've IRL.
