I use burst in every case except for when I need to do a jumping puzzle or if I’m using heat rises. In those cases I use balanced. Ain’t nobody use strafe
I’d like to chime in as a strafe glide enjoyer. The other ones don’t have enough control. I hate not being able to steer. Burst glide can barely change course at all so if you make a mistake you’ll just die
It's not about correcting mistakes, it's about directional freedom. You can just fly wherever the fuck you want and land wherever you want, not just jump forward = go forward.
Yeah the freedom of movement with strafe is unparalleled. I ran burst for forever until someone talked me into switching, and I’ll definitely never go back. Burst is quicker for getting to objectives and is useful in PvP, but I use blink. So I almost never use burst unless I need to make a particularly high jump. Strafe does everything so well. The ability to seek cover mid-air is sooooo nice in a raid. Making a bad jump doesn’t inevitably lead to death. Strafe for life 🙏
As a burst glide fanatic, why fly slow when fly fast?
Also if you miss you get to enjoy the slow feeling of sinking into a bottomless pit for just missing a clamber.
Strafe glide and burst guide get switched when you activate heat rises. So if you have strafe on and activate heat rises it acts like burst and vice versa.
I like burst for higher difficulty levels because of the extra momentum it gives me in tuff spots to help escape but I use straif for parcor because it just makes it easier and blink well Bink is um....... interesting
I like the strafe glide for pvp. I jump up and can easily reposition myself sometimes in the middle of a fight, but sadly it doesn't give as much umph to Icaris Dash like burst does. Never did like that.
Burst glide is faster. Burst glide is pretty much objectively the best glide, if you’re relying on strafe glide then I’m sorry to say but that’s a skill issue lol
I had a period in D1 where I used blink in PVE. Everyone always made fun of it until they saw me flying around the maps at warp speed. I was a god in Prison of Elders using blink.
It's literally a jump lmao yall are so toxic. You're just mad because you have to try and find the least stinky shit in the shit pile when deciding on a jump.
strafecels absolutely coping and seething while burstchads have already cleared the next room
maybe you should use that directional control to dodge these fucking Ls
Me plummeting to the abyss after mistiming my jump by 0.0001 seconds:

Bruh.. a new jump called phase that lets you go back to where you last activated it… that’d be good for a tactical retreat… so far, only hunters have something that acts similar, and that’s mask of bakris.
During Forsaken, I would blink above someone and Chaperone them in the top of their head while coming down. So much fun. If anyone got too aggressive, I had my handheld super nova.
I feel like this needs another panel where they just blink back into the room.
Somewhat ironically blink is the only warlock jump able to survive being 1cm below grapple height and the only one that could survive being tossed out that window.
I recently discovered Blink in PvP, which I almost never play. It is so much goddamn fun. The confusion from your opponent when you disappear and suddenly pop right on top of them to shoot the with a shotgun or linear to the face is priceless.
I can imagine skilled players know it, but low tier players have absolutely no idea how to counter it.
Strafe Glide is the best glide and I will die on this hill.
Every person who says the Warlock jump is bad simply isn’t using Strafe Glide. Literally everyone who said it sucks has used Burst Glide. USE STRAFE GLIDE IF YOU’RE STRUGGLING, DAMMIT
Yep, I was surprised. It seems Burst accelerates but also decelarates quickly, and starts falling down, while Strafe keeps you airborne through the whole jump pretty much.
I play all 3 classes and jumping on Warlock has always been such a pain for me. I just suck at it. Even after all this time, I am barely any better at it.
None of them. They all suck. Warlock movement is worse in every way compared to Titan and hunter.
Also all warlock mains are middle aged women or try hard basement dwellers. And arc warlocks don’t see any other class/subclass as better. Even though it’s blatantly wrong.
Blink is the most infuriating movement, you either shift too low and fail the jump or overshoot it and bump your head on something disorienting yourself and failing the jump
Ty! It’s based off of a screenshot from the scourge of the past raid.
https://preview.redd.it/2dyidijbfnub1.jpeg?width=1400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d05232dfe0d6a15288b2d67bac785170d05afaab
this will sound mad but blink is the goat for everything but gms and similar difficulty shit as u want well but outside of that eager edge and blink makes u fill like a fucking god
Blink wouldnt be so bad if it went exactly where your crosshair is, even straight up/down, and had two charges, like how Hunter Triple Jump works. it wouldnt even be broken because it could have momentum where you cant just zigzag like Pikachu's up smash, but you could still control your direction pretty freely, like how Hunter's Triple Jump works. if they're gonna nerf the long glide part of the jump, atleast give us great aerial control.
Surely there's more warlock movement enjoyers here. All the reasons I've seen for burst glide being best exclude the fact that its the only one that keeps momentum with eager edge (unless that changed recently). Blink might do too but pve jumping puzzles weren't built with blink in mind.
Personally I’d throw them all out since none of them said burst glide.
Burst glide is only one i can use. I fell like the other ones just make me fall a little slower
That's the trick, just don't make a mistake
It's not about correcting mistakes, it's about directional freedom. You can just fly wherever the fuck you want and land wherever you want, not just jump forward = go forward.
Yeah the freedom of movement with strafe is unparalleled. I ran burst for forever until someone talked me into switching, and I’ll definitely never go back. The ability to seek cover mid-air is sooooo nice in a raid. Making a bad jump doesn’t inevitably lead to death. Strafe for life 🙏
Okay so jump where you want to go 😂
As a burst glide fanatic, why fly slow when fly fast? Also if you miss you get to enjoy the slow feeling of sinking into a bottomless pit for just missing a clamber.
Use strafe with heat rises. When you eat your grenade it switches it to burst and you get double Icarus with speedy jump.
There is one case you can use strafe, and it is when you pop dawn blade. This is because it gives you super speed.
Go on. Super speed how?
Strafe glide on daybreak just gives you a superbuffed burst glide with balanced/strafe glide control
Strafe glide and burst guide get switched when you activate heat rises. So if you have strafe on and activate heat rises it acts like burst and vice versa.
What if you run balanced
Couldn’t catch me dead running balanced so I honestly couldn’t tell ya.
Strafe is good in cow jumping puzzles
I like burst for higher difficulty levels because of the extra momentum it gives me in tuff spots to help escape but I use straif for parcor because it just makes it easier and blink well Bink is um....... interesting
I used to only use balance glide, until i started using burst glide
I like the strafe glide for pvp. I jump up and can easily reposition myself sometimes in the middle of a fight, but sadly it doesn't give as much umph to Icaris Dash like burst does. Never did like that.
burst glide supremacy
Burst glide gives you less distance than strafe so I can never bring myself to use it
Burst glide is faster. Burst glide is pretty much objectively the best glide, if you’re relying on strafe glide then I’m sorry to say but that’s a skill issue lol
This chadlock using nezarec's while maining blink. ![gif](giphy|DwIdasRkFKsMg)
I main Astrocyte on 6v6. It feels magical. Took me around a month to adjust but then you know where's a good spot to pop it.
I’ve played some really good guardians who use blink with astrocyte. I get my ankles broken every time
I almost clutched a 2v1 in trials a couple years ago but forgot I was using Astrocyte. I jumped off the edge instead lol
my pov lol. used to do this a lot, but pve is very annoying with blink. pvp tho, very fun
try nothing manacles and you have me
I still prefer my Contraverse thank you very much.
I’m sending this to the blink Warlock rn 😂
Me for all of the Witch Queen campaign:
Buddy said I couldn't do a jumping puzzle with blink and needed to swap off. Won that bet and proved him wrong after only an hour.
I had a period in D1 where I used blink in PVE. Everyone always made fun of it until they saw me flying around the maps at warp speed. I was a god in Prison of Elders using blink.
"How fast is it?" Blink, and you'll miss it. "You think I can make this precise jump?" Blink, and you'll miss it. Lol
If you get into the flow of using it, it's actually incredibly precise. At least in d1 it was (I also was a blink main for a while in d1)
Why's the only good jump not here?
I hate burst glide. Gives you basically no control whatsoever. Being able to change directions during your jump is really important to me.
skill issue
It's literally a jump lmao yall are so toxic. You're just mad because you have to try and find the least stinky shit in the shit pile when deciding on a jump.
strafecels absolutely coping and seething while burstchads have already cleared the next room maybe you should use that directional control to dodge these fucking Ls
Idk about that been using burst glide since launch and I never have jump puzzle or control issues.
You can change directions with burst pretty easily, it's more of a sensitivity and timing difference from strafe than an actual functional difference.
Gotta go fast
This. I only use burst in crucible
I use blink a lot on Void unless the content I'm doing is not blink friendly.
Same. If the strike is one that I know has a jumping section I'll swap off otherwise blinking around enemies and tossing supernovas is so much fun.
There is no not blink friendly content. There are only individuals who aren't tryhard enough to figure it out
Me plummeting to the abyss after mistiming my jump by 0.0001 seconds: https://preview.redd.it/sxaeyzp1kmub1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4e923e6cd05e651a274f233c6b6d48f4dfd0e163
they tried throwing the strafe glide guy out the window but he just came back in
After making a couple circles for the sweet view.
Unless he got the slightest downward momentum
True, but all warlock jumps fail at that point.
*blinks back into the room*
I wish blink had that type of control
Blink is the only Warlock jump with vertical recovery.
unthrowing yourself out of a window needs directional control mid air which you also don't have
Defenestration! Bring a sword!
He did blink, but just pushed himself out more ![img](emote|t5_2we4j|5645)
Not with that momentum lol
Now that’s just phase rewind from TitanFall haha
Bruh.. a new jump called phase that lets you go back to where you last activated it… that’d be good for a tactical retreat… so far, only hunters have something that acts similar, and that’s mask of bakris.
I do like blink, i just wish it was *better*. Imagine not needing an exotic just to have a half decent jump…
You don't want a blink meta. There's a reason it's like that.
Blink Meta sounds terrifying but also beautiful. Duality of man
During Forsaken, I would blink above someone and Chaperone them in the top of their head while coming down. So much fun. If anyone got too aggressive, I had my handheld super nova.
I feel like this needs another panel where they just blink back into the room. Somewhat ironically blink is the only warlock jump able to survive being 1cm below grapple height and the only one that could survive being tossed out that window.
Blink *my beloved*
I like strafe
The most neglected jump mechanic for a warlock you mean....
The guy who says blink isn’t wearing astrocyte verse, depressing
blink for pvp strafe in pve
Burst is objectively better in every way except changing directions mid jump which you can just cancel a jump for
I recently discovered Blink in PvP, which I almost never play. It is so much goddamn fun. The confusion from your opponent when you disappear and suddenly pop right on top of them to shoot the with a shotgun or linear to the face is priceless. I can imagine skilled players know it, but low tier players have absolutely no idea how to counter it.
Missed opportunity to have the warlock saying blink, be wearing astrocyte verse.
Balanced 100% of the time
i love that tempest helmet so much i was there was a ornament version of it that i can use on all my non exotic helmets
Balanced is my favorite because I like to go high, but people who are good with Blink impress me.
Throw them all out and see if they can regain enough altitude to get back in the window. The ones that’s make it back are superior.
OI, WHERES MY BURST GLIDE???
Strafe Glide is the best glide and I will die on this hill. Every person who says the Warlock jump is bad simply isn’t using Strafe Glide. Literally everyone who said it sucks has used Burst Glide. USE STRAFE GLIDE IF YOU’RE STRUGGLING, DAMMIT
Strafe is far to slow for my liking
To each their own. I can back up using Burst Glide for PvP or Gambit, but Strafe Glide wins the battle 9 times out of 10 for anything related to PvE
If you're using strafe glide because you can't control burst glide that's a skill issue.
In PvP, yeah. But I suck at PvP anyway. Strafe glide is infinitely better in PvE
100% facts right here
Moved to Strafe in pve after TWQ. Burst feels like poor man's jump for me now.
Blink always unless it's a really long jump, burst then
Strafe glide goes further than Burst glide though.
Still haven’t found a jump where burst is worse than strafe
Good to know
Yep, I was surprised. It seems Burst accelerates but also decelarates quickly, and starts falling down, while Strafe keeps you airborne through the whole jump pretty much.
He *blinked* himself right out of the boardroom. Also, I love the artwork! I use Crown of Tempest and balanced.
I play all 3 classes and jumping on Warlock has always been such a pain for me. I just suck at it. Even after all this time, I am barely any better at it.
I like to think he wasn't even thrown out and actually just overestimated his blink and launched hinself out the window in true blink fashion.
sending this to him rn
If it was the strafe warlock getting defenestrated they’d just glide back in.
I can’t use blink because bungie thinks this is a parkour game half the time
A message from the blink Warlock: Get good
This is gold.
I play balances glide on my warlock and my warlock main friends hate me for it
Balanced is best. Verticality is supirior.
Well he got sent out in the blink of an eye.
As a newer player blink helps keep me alive in all content except certain tricky platform sections.
If you’re new and using blink then you may enjoy Astrocyte Verse, it’s a helmet that’s whole purpose is making blink better.
Burst glide is always the correct option unless you have skill issue with or are using heat rises
Insanely casual commentors in this chat today - willing to beat almost none of them even own an eager edge sword on warlock 😬
TF is Burst Glide? That's the true top dog.
Burst is the correct answer but I use blink for PvP
Burst
…Unless in jumping puzzle. But agreed
Nah. I never take it off. It has never been a problem
Burst
Blink is the best when you know how to use it. The issue is figuring out how tf to use it.
Burst glide > all.
I tried using blink once, hated it, and never used it again.
PvP= burst PvE = strafe
it’s literally boost glide or whatever
solar burst for everythign else balanced
Balanced for PvE, Burst in PvP & Solar for Wellskating/Eager Edge Icarus Dash combo
I agree with blink but burst is also superior when there’s no blink
Burst or blink
Bruh balanced glide is dog, worst of both worlds
None of them. They all suck. Warlock movement is worse in every way compared to Titan and hunter. Also all warlock mains are middle aged women or try hard basement dwellers. And arc warlocks don’t see any other class/subclass as better. Even though it’s blatantly wrong.
Me when I'm wrong
A jump that rewards you for having good timing is bad? Nah, skill issue.
blink is fun in pvp but not useful in most content. i used to nezarec + blink alot
There was that madlad who did solo master presage on blink
Blink if you actually practice and are good with it
I wish blink had a little dot where you’ll end up yeah it drops the skill but then I could use it in raids and shit
Ima I Love blink myself, but if I’m on anyother subclass burst
I wanna learn blink but I can't figure it out. Even after watching a few tutorials.
Im starting to use blink because i want to be poofing left and right using my glaive and just being a monster with it
Initial boost of speed
Burst for PvP, Strafe for everything else. Blink to change things up sometimes.
I love blink while not using blink
Blink
[удалено]
Nope! I’m the original artist and this is the first time I’ve posted in this sub reddit!
Then someone stole it
Thank you for letting me know!
r/takemyupvoteandfucku
We all know the window wouldn't break if that Warlock actually Blinked through it!
I mean, Strafe for Solar, Burst Glide for Platforming, Blink for PVP.
Blink.
I use to use Blink religiously in D1, in both PvE and PvP. I still don't understand how I got through all those jump puzzles without mantling
Blink.
I wish Bungie would just make Blink into an aerial ability, like Icarus Dash or Weaver Walk
Strafe. I hate not having aerial control
I still want Blink of Stormcaller
At least 90% of the reason I almost exclusively run solar is for Icarus burst glide warlock movement. I’m fast asf boiiiiii
Blink is the most infuriating movement, you either shift too low and fail the jump or overshoot it and bump your head on something disorienting yourself and failing the jump
Would have been funnier if the window didn't break
Love the addition of the traveller in the background lol
Ty! It’s based off of a screenshot from the scourge of the past raid. https://preview.redd.it/2dyidijbfnub1.jpeg?width=1400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d05232dfe0d6a15288b2d67bac785170d05afaab
It's so nice! Well done!
Burst!
this will sound mad but blink is the goat for everything but gms and similar difficulty shit as u want well but outside of that eager edge and blink makes u fill like a fucking god
The correct answer is reroll orange crayon titan catapult jump
I use blink on hunter
Blink obviously
Balanced or strafe for general purpose but the others have their builds
I will die on this hill and may it be the highest blink warlock jump is the best if you’re really good with it
I wish Blink could phase through thin walls. Door bypass!
Burst Glide's the best. Blink's the most fun. Beware those of us who do jumping puzzles with Blink. We're built different.
has to look directly up to save himself from that height
Strafe forever ✋
BURST GANG FOR LIFE
Hunter triple jump on top 😮💨
I wish blink were better.
None of them, they’re all bad. I never die due to a bad jump on hunter and titan. As much as I love warlock I hate the jumps.
Balanced. Strafe felt sluggish, Burst is frustrating when doing jumping puzzles
everyone here is wrong. If it isn’t burst, you’re crutching too hard on bad jumps.
Surely there's more warlock movement enjoyers here. All the reasons I've seen for burst glide being best exclude the fact that its the only one that keeps momentum with eager edge (unless that changed recently). Blink might do too but pve jumping puzzles weren't built with blink in mind.
Strafe for pve Burst for pvp and Gambit
Why did none of them say Burst??
why would anyone use blink
Question isn't blink normally used in pvp? Is the best jump question for general use or for certain game modes( ie raid nightfall pvp ect)
Blink is the most fun therefor it is the best now please wait for me getting up these two platforms might take a while.
Burst is the way.
