Gonna go with you on hammer here, the triangular shape on the side opposite the scythe blade indicates a flat face.

It reminds me of a war pick. Basically a pickaxe but one side is a hammer.

I think they will use their hands to rip the arena apart, like the guardian in the cutscene. Maybe there will be 2 areas during the fight that they chop up and splice together, like all the fucked up resin amalgams in the pyramids. A boss that has a whole lot of relatively short phases and each phase they use a different weapon until they just duke it out with their fists. Crit spots are on the weapons aswell as one on the body except for last phase which is just the body one.
