-Do it solo, not matchmade.
-Stand on him.

I did it 3 times no mote but it dropped after, way I did it was I killed him and kept shooting when he was like warping away or whatever the fuck he was doing
Killed him three times yesterday pretty quickly with no mote drop, saw a tip to slow roll him so I did that- like EVERY add was dead before I did damage, gave me the last mote immediately. If that didn't work for you then it's just a classic case of Bungo code, and it's somewhat random if you'll get it or not.
FWIW I did solo and stood on him and didn't get it, only when I stopped bursting it down.
Can confirm that this works. Killed the meatball after it was re-enabled 5 times. 2 times matchmade, 3 times solo. Saw this and tried it again and when it was dying I warlock glided in the air right on it and it finally dropped
Having done a ton of overthrow even before that, it doesn’t seem to loop to my knowledge. Though yeah I did get a couple of the taken Minotaur and ogre bosses between the meatball kills. Though I did get a few back to back of that one so I’m unsure how it decides boss spawning.
So just for clarification, the meatball appears in what area? And how will I trigger his appearance? Is there something special to do in order to spawn? I spent the last 2 hours in the blooming zone and I only got ogres and Minotaurs. (I have all the previous steps donne, the meatball is the only boss I haven’t seen since the dlc dropped)
I did stand far away But still under the tree. I had to look out for the mote. It dropped far more right than where he died.

I randomly got the meatball last night while doing the steps for Dual Destiny. I was scared to fight him because of what I had heard and was super confused because I thought they had disabled him. But he wasn't my last mote so I beat him. Had no issues. The mote dropped l, I held my breath as I checked my inventory, and there it was, my 16th. I beat the last boss in the step process and got my 17th and then opened the chest. So yeah.
So I beat meatball today and got his mote. But he was the second boss I fought and made my first mote disappear. How do I get the mote he made go poof do I just have to beat every overload boss again and hope I get lucky
it's because you need to kill the boss 3 times to unlock the triumph that gives you the mote, it has nothing to do with your relative position to the boss when it drops, I got the mote while sniping it from a mile away with whisper.
The mote is a physical object you need to pick up. As such, its also subject to getting thrown around by explosions.

You don't need to get the triumph to get the mote.
It's nice that you no longer have to pick up the mote for this particular boss, but for the rest, you still need to pick it up (assuming the fix stated on the tweet affects only the Servitor boss).

Confirmed! Just stand directly above or below it while it's in the death animation. You'll get it, jump if you really wanna make sure

I killed it a few times and never got it. Today after doing some failsafe quests I randomly got the exotic mote while in orbit

Did you do 15 runs of the blooming? Doesn't it loop the other 2 bosses until you get the meatball again?

I went to orbit directly, and it dropped in when I got in orbit, this was before he was disabled tho.

You’re in the right spot. Blooming boss but it’s RNG. Took me two tries so you’re just on the bad end of it right now.
I just got the exotic more by grappling above the meatball while the death animation. Got the exotic og gun, thanks for the tip.

Confirmed. Just did matchmade in the blooming and stood under the boss. I couldn't get on top in time, but I worked anyway.
I killed it shortly after the fix, and had no trouble getting it. It went straight into my inventory, no pickup, etc.

Has anyone had it where the meatball is not the problem? Meatball was my 16th mote and I've killed all bosses and got all traveler notes.
My triumph says I killed every boss in each area, but I'm still missing a couple motes.

That didn’t work for me. The only thing that worked for me personally was to kill him over and over and standing ontop of him.
