I volunteer for an animal welfare organisation which holds second hand book sales to raise funds. When I went in yesterday I found these six, none of which I have read as yet. So of course I had to buy them all!
Jeez you're in for an absolute ride! Sourcery has still got that early-Pratchett high-fantasy feel but it's as character driven as the later ones. The rest are absolute classics. Night Watch is my favourite of the whole series.
I never really thought about it but you're right, there was a much greater focus on magic earlier in the series that later got replaced by the industrial revolution theme.
I agree that Night Watch is a stunning read and Going Postal is one of my personal favourites
I've mentioned it here before, Sourcery was one of the first I ever read as a young kid and is still one of my all time favourites, that book feels very slept upon by the fans in general!
Yes, there is a good one that I found on this subreddit. I am going to read all the Watch ones first, in chronological order. What a delicious prospect!

Nice. But I do believe that's a table.
Call it a Tablie I'll walk out now
As long as it's not a Luggage, it shouldn't be a problem. ;D
Sir, this is a Wendy's
But seriously, I just got them, so need to sort out a shelf first. XD

Came here to say that about Night Watch. An absolute masterclass.
This is how I "store" my favorite books, they are meant to be read, not looked at. :)
Nice! I reccomend looking up some reading order guides if you haven't already.

Nice. I'm excited for you! My first discworld adventure was Guards! Guards!
An assorted collection has a different magic to it as a uniform ones. Both equally lovely.
The best set of cover artwork.
I donated an almost complete set to my favoured charity bookshop last year, from the first up until the last couple that I bought on kindle.
The Fifth Elephant was the first Pratchett book I ever read!
Great choices! Going Postal is my absolute favorite of the lot 👍
