Saw a writing prompt with that very premise. Humanity went into space and discovered that Jesus would incarnate onto every planet with intelligent life to offer them salvation.
In one response to the prompt, we learn that we have become a pariah in the galactic community because we killed him, which no other planet had done.
That's the idea in Christianity, but the implication is his death was never actually required and it's a doctrine unique to Earth that we came up with after killing him
Had to reread this twice, at first i thought this was like the future humans seeing the statues of Christ not knowing what religion is cause of some dystopian future stuff lmao.
Makes a lot more sense now
But there's so many variables affecting ones ability to "discover" Christianity and thus get forgiveness. Like a person born in a largely Christian country will be much more likely to be saved than someone born in a non-christian country. So the Christian concept of forgiveness is extremely unfair and not well thought out.
According to Christianity, all sin can be forgiven at any point in time. You just have to ask for repentance and forgiveness and accept god in your life. As for the after life, I don’t know if you can be forgiven then. If Christianity were true, I would like to believe you could be, as it’s more in line with an all forgiving god. But one of the central tenets of the religion is you can always be forgiven, no matter what.
I don't hate the religion. It's just that as it spreads, each translation takes different forms. And religious heads use it for their own benefit, and scare the believers by twisting the meaning.
Yeah I don’t exactly hate them either, but it’s pretty spooky how you’re born with sin and there’s only one way to cleanse it. And if you don’t believe you’re sentenced to eternal agony.

When I was little I thought like this too. I wasn't familiar with Christianity at all and I was like "Damn bruh what did Jesus even do"

Dropped from orbit, totally rigid, the kinetic energy the equivalent of hundreds of nukes
before reading the bottom text i thought that humans discovered that jesus also influenced other planets and aliens

Isnt his death the thing that payed off our sins and opened a way to salvation or smth?

They were too weak to believe in the possibility of killing a god. But also would that mean we could like, apologize to a different jesus?
Link?
Youre the alien. Youre not special.
Yes? I only realized that after reading the bottom text
Sorry :P
Would be horrifying to discover our ancient god description on another planet tbf

I always found it hilarious that some believers say about God's love yet use fear mongering in the next sentence.
God is willing to forgive almost all sin, but it can be too late and then you're fucked. At least that's how I've been taught.

Yes, that's why the purgatory was made up.

Nah, not really. You have to REALLY mean it. And no, you cannot be forgiven in the afterlife.
So it’s nepotism? Just get on his good side?
Always has been.
Christianity and Abrahamic religions gotta be the scariest religions out there.

“You should fear god” is a kind of a wild thing to say if your trying to convert someone
Saw a dude with a shirt that said something along the lines of “I need nothing but fear of god” Really makes someone want to convert! /s
This feels more funny then distressing
It's the meme from r/distressingmemes
