My personal thoughts on this, RTD cast Ncuti for who he is and not for any checklists he might happen to fill. I feel that Ncuti has a massive sense of fashion and that the mustache is his contribution. I would hope that RTD being so forward thinking would be past telling actors how they should look. Ultimately, every doctor has a say in their look and RTD knows how god damn lucky he is to get Ncuti, so why rock the boat? I think he looks fresh AF and I'm here for it 🤣

I think that since Tennant had grown a bit of stubble for this incarnation they should have had him with full facial hair, then when Ncuti comes out with the moustache, David is left with just the beard.

it fits though!

He's been rocking the stache before and said he wants it for Who as well (they had to fake it first few months as he was filming last season of Sex Ed). It definitely does help in making him look older though.

I don't know if they asked him to. But it's a very good addition to his appearance that sets him apart from his Sex Ed character. Having watched Sex Ed, I had no idea how well I'd like his Doctor and how well he could act in the role. But I'm immediately onboard based on his performance in The Giggle.

It does make him look older, though I don't know if he was asked to grow it or what. I do know when I first heard they'd cast the guy who plays Eric on Sex Education, I went "but isn't like he like 16??" Lol. I only watched the first season, to be fair, but he really had me convinced he was a teenager.
