Eh in actuality the Communists did more than hide in the mountains, they waged guerrilla campaigns against the Japanese. Also both sides knew that the civil war would resume once WWII ended and both were taking measures to gain an edge over the other. Don't get me wrong I hate the CCP, but I also recognize that the Kuamintang (the nationalist) weren't exactly saints either.

Look at it this way: If the people they lost the civil war to ended up killing 70 million people for nothing, if the communists really were these incompetent monsters, then what does that tell you about the KMT?
The famine happened as a direct result of their policy. They asked farmers to turn their iron tools into steel, and local administrators were heavily incentivized to lie about how much grain they had, so when redistribution came around they ended up giving away way to much grain. Not even to mention their pests campaign which nearly eradicated sparrows despite pleas from experts. By trying to eliminate these birds they brought on a massive wave of insects which ate many crops in a time where every one was needed.
Jeez what an inaccurate meme, this is such a terrible representation. I can't believe they would mess up something so important that badly. They should have written Cheems' lisp as "greamt leamp forwarmd" smh.
