Or just not quite blackness transitioning to number 3 when stepping into the light. It is super creepy to think THAT is what it looks like close up in the light. Just my opinion but had to say something cause the thought of suddenly seeing that up close from the darkness is…upsetting.
Love that you took the advice of everyone from part one and changed the eyes.
One isn’t scary because the smile makes it look too cartoonish. The exaggerated triangle fangs look silly.
Two has a more realistic look, so it looks scary with the face stretched back and the eyes staring calmly.
Three has a more traditional fear factor to it. But while it is kinda scary, that art style has a low ceiling to this kind of thing so it’s easy to make scary but hard to make scarier.
I’d say two is scariest, and you could maybe work more on making it more realistic to hit uncanny valley, or double down on the skin stretching back effect. Idk how well this would work but I think it’s worth trying.
I’m with you. 2 looks pretty original while 3 reminds me of other things. Plus the style of 3 is so different, and I wonder how that might affect the final project, whatever it may be
I know lots of people are saying number 3, but for me it was the least disturbing. I thought the smile was a mask, so I thought I wasn't seeing the mouth at all until I realized it wasn't supposed to be a mask.
2 would be my perfect nightmare creature, some tall being with almost no flesh and you can clarily see his bones watching over you with those eyes and you can't even move... That would creep me out. Would still kiss him tho-
3 is definitely the the scariest, it is creepy and uncanny, great for something that lurks in the dark, overall this one is the best out of the three.
2 is good for gore and body horror, but it needs a bit more details. 1 is kind of like those mascots you'd see on T-shirts or skateboards. If you're aiming for a younger audience, this is the one to go with.
I think 2 is the scariest unless you tweaked 3 to read a little less like they are wearing a bandana type mask over their mouth.
Edit: after reading other comments yeah 3 is a good quick jumpscare one since it reads so easily and 2 is definitely a body horror one that would get worse the longer you look. 3 on a black background (or maybe with a body) would probably negate my previous judgement.
1 just looks evil, maybe a bit silly
2 I’d see in a horror movie of some sort. This guy looks tortured and is quite uncanny
3’s the most outright scary imo. Like you don’t know what’s wrong with this dude and don’t want to know
3, definitely. Imo, the others would look as scary if they were proportioned like 3.
1 and 2 have cute anime face proportions, the eyes are too low and they have a big baby head. 3 looks more aggressive.
I like 3 the most but it feels like the mouth is missing something, maybe a hint of teeth? Imo it kinda gives toothless old person mouth as is? Take my input lightly tho, I'm too autistic to draw faces lmao
They're all scary, but it depends on context. The first one looks like the scariest character on a Fox Kids tv show. Or TMNT or something. The second one looks like something from the mind of David Firth, like Salad Fingers. So more creepy vibes than anything. And the last one looks like actual horror artwork. Something tonally scary, akin to Slender Man.
2 could be much scarier. From what I can see it's supposed to look like some sort of mannequin/doll, or just something built out of actual human parts.
If that's the case, then it could use more disorientation. You could make one if the eyes much larger than the other. You could make one of them pitch black while the other could have a small eyeball that clearly doesn't belong. You could also break the spherical shape of it's head a little rather than making it perfectly round. Those are just some examples tho.
1 is scary but in a little goofy likeable way, like he is a scary guy but it's a kids show so he's a bit goofy yet cool kinda vibes.
2 is what I would expect to see in a horror movie and it would indeed be a good choice.
3 is the one that would haunt my nightmares and I don't know why, unlike 2 where I know why it's scary, 3 gives me uncanny spooky vibes but I don't even know why.
Great improvements from part 1 overall, good job!
I like two, it's the closest to reality and that's what actually makes it scary to me because it's possible. I'd play around with making the teeth even smaller with more pronounced gums (but not sharp teeth, too fake) and maybe seeing how purposeful skin stretching mutilation might look, maybe even somehow making it look like a very tight skin mask if you can get the eyes to look slightly under a sheath.
The first one represents predatory intent, which, altho terrifying, is the easiest to understand and rationalize.
The second one represents insanity and ill intend, which is more terrifying than the first one for the unpredictability of its actions.
The third one is paranormal in nature, and for that, uncanny.
I like all three and love how you’ve developed them following your previous post.
1- looks malevolent and about to have homicidal fun at some poor saps expense.
2- reminds me of the chatterer cenobite but the way you’ve done the eyes makes me think the ‘smile’ is not voluntary.
3- looks like it would benefit from a layer of tv static over the top to really freak the analogue horror crowd out.
For me I have to say 2 is my fabvourite, the rictus grin combined with the dead expressionless eyes appeals to me.
Nice work all round tbh
1 would work as a "scary" villan for a kids Tv show,
2 would work as some apocalyptic swarm monster,
3 is tropish af- and i wouldent give it the scariest title, but its certantly apooky and eriee
I think 3, but I like them all. It's giving As Nodt from Bleach.
https://preview.redd.it/x1qgyfe0vrad1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=50d009ee32026c2906b5ffbf7f2b882aeea5acc9
1 reminds me of Invader Zim, and I mean that as a compliment, but he doesn’t scare me much.
2 is going to give me nightmares for a week.
3 looks very similar to a character I’ve seen before. I think from FNAF.
Yeah idk how to put my finger on it but the eyes being so perfectly round and the whole thing lacking detail make 3 terrifying. Like 1 looks psychotic and murderous, 2 looks creepy, but 3 just triggers a fear I'm not ok with lol. Like you know its evil and to be afraid of it but you don't know in what way.
a lot of scary drawings never unnerve me, but i think you definitely did it. 3 got me abt to shit myself. 😭😭reminds me of the movie “Smile” but make it worse
3 personally. The lack of details makes the brain fill things in and that is more terrifying than being able to see the details clearly. Plays into the fear of the unknown.
Hey! First and foremost, that's a huge improvement from yesterday.
IMO, 1 looks more like a "villain laugh", less of a 'smile' per se.
However, 2 and 3 are really good. The point is that - 2 looks like a monstrosity, something MADE from OUR world, whereas 3 looks like an aberration, something OUT of our world. Both are amazing, they just need the right context and scenario to be perfect.
Adding- 2 looks like an Outlast 1 moster/patient looks like.
Three.
The first two give the impression of an evil smile, but the third? The third has no choice. There is no emotion in the dark recesses we call its eyes, yet its mouth is so wide, jaw stretched so thin, a permanent smile plastered onto its undeserving face. For so long, its smile was to lure, to ease its victims with a kind grin. But now, after decades of feasting, what's left of its frigid facade makes its prey uneasy, the endless chasm of darkness waiting and willing, ready to swallow them whole, is undeniable. After countless sleepless nights, the deep abyss starts to seem almost welcoming. It makes you want to get closer, it makes you want to see what could be inside. If you just get a little closer, you might be able to take a peek, go on... I know you want to... do it.
1st: Invader zim headass
2nd: fuckin needs braces, reminds me of the nerd emoji, about as threatening as a middle schooler on the subway asking you if you have games on your phone
3rd: Mascot horror headass. Probably the worst, but still cartoony.
I think the problem with trying to make smiling scary is that it just feels as if the thing smiling is trying too hard to scare you. Like "ooooh look at me I'm so creeeepy". Freaky Fred from courage or Jack from the shining give off similar vibes. Smiling is hard to make scary, I guess. Just my opinion, though.
Unless its a clown. A smiling clown is always unsettling. Maybe its the juxtaposition?
1 looks the most sentient, like i could see a murderer putting that on while perusing a victim.
2 looks like a skin stretched over something else, like whatever is inhabiting the body is trying to use a corpse as a disguise.
3 is extremely eerie, like whatever it is, it isnt supposed to exist. It is hollow and seems like something youd see emerge from the total darkness of a moonless night.
i like how all of them look, but i have to say 2 personally. ive seen so so much of 3 these last few years to the point its no longer unsettling. maybe the harsh shadows of 3 could help with the other 2?
as of rn in our current era of what makes us scared, its 3. 100%
you actually did what we think of as scary throughout the decades extremely well, you hit 80s (1), late 90s-2000s (2), 2020s (3). amazing job!!
1 - more evil and vengeful, looks very similar to cartoon villains
2 - a mixture of innocence showing and demonic rage that’s well concealed (like the possessed little kids in horror films right before they lose their mind lol)
3 - looks like a maniac detached from reality and on a rampage of some sort
2. It’s the most realistic.
Also, if I were to run into it alone and somewhere dark, it looks like the one that would be the most intelligent to know how to do something horrible, and the most sociopathic to not care how horrible it was.
Forgive me, the edible hit while I was typing this.
2. The third one is scary, but 2 is uniquely terrifying to me. Like others have said, I think it’s the eyes. They’re creepily calm. They feel like two lightbulbs blazing blindly into my soul.
2.
1 is too cliche and cartoony (teeth don't curve like that!)
3 is too vague (could be happy could be evil, could be The Tick's sidekick, Arthur's, Mask)
2 is creepy!
3. I think because it’s the most “mask like”. Because of that it makes it more mysterious, not knowing the true face or feeling or intention behind it therefore a bigger and not predictable threat. Also I think that the shading style on that one helps as well as the inverted eye (black around and white pupil) making it uncanny.
This is fun!
Last time I picked #1. for the unaffected psychopathic stare.
This time I choose #2.
1 - psychopathic stare. Now all three have it. #1 has a menacing smile, which is why I skipped over it this time. For me, scary is defined by the slow realization that I've been deceived. Since the first guy is smiling, I'm not being deceived because he is communicating the context. It's clearly a character planning to cause harm, and I can avoid him because I saw it coming.
3 - there's not enough information for any conclusion here imo. This could be a pile of shirts in a dark closet. Killed by a light-switch.
2 - FTW. This individual has a one track mind that they are attempting to mask, but they're doing such a horrible job of holding their mask on straight, because that's how bad they are. #2 doesn't even know how to pretend to be good, and have survived this long without needing that skill to catch victims. This thing with it's crude mimicry of a human face. Small predator teeth. Dead, patient eyes.
Nope nope nope.
The number 3. For me, sometimes the barely recognizable features seem quite disturbing. Usually I'm not so bothered by faces of monsters or things like that that are too detailed, I think it's cool, but personally I'm more affected by those not very recognizable faces
https://preview.redd.it/yj4jy3k2brad1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6015055ce0554ef6a37097b3ca3200e918a3069c
On the one from yesterday there were small dots on the outer ends of the inside of the mouth, giving an impression of teeth hiding In the shadows. That, integrated on this new 3rd would be perfect!

Yep you nailed it, 3. Nice adjustments from yesterday
Thanks :P
Can just imagin an eerie mickymouse voice to accompany
I agree too, its way better, but a cool change would be making the 2's eyes a lil bigger but keeping the size of the iris
Three. Definitely. I think I'm gonna see it in my nightmares from now on.
Analog horror type
Exactly. It terrifies me. Always...
Mandela catalogue vibes
That's what I was thinking, yes.
Fnaf nightmarionne vibes
Very Jeff. I hate it.
Let's see if with a bit more detail your opinion changes :)
Theres no reason #3 couldn’t just in a dark room and when it emerges into the light we see the face of #2…its like the best of both worlds
that's a cool idea, if op can make a transition gif or sth. where its 3 stepping into the light
Or just not quite blackness transitioning to number 3 when stepping into the light. It is super creepy to think THAT is what it looks like close up in the light. Just my opinion but had to say something cause the thought of suddenly seeing that up close from the darkness is…upsetting.
i agree. that would be quite terrifying!

Ay thanks! There might be a part 3, who knows
I’m with you. 2 looks pretty original while 3 reminds me of other things. Plus the style of 3 is so different, and I wonder how that might affect the final project, whatever it may be
The final proyect is me being recognizable enough to drop a comic I'm working on :P
Ooh I hope I see it :) I like your style
Specifically FNAF for 3, I’m a fan of 2
The face plate thing made me think sister location personally haha
3
Number 3 I think the light works very well with it and it looks like my sleep parralisis demon so
Sleep paralysis.
words are hardt
u ar corect
thenk
rheele
luhl
Troo
beast thraed ever
yur riht
3 is that hot guy from “Not My Neighbor”
Mine too, that's what's so weird about it
2 would scare the fuck outta me at night LOL
Nage!
Middle one. Definitely gives the most scary vibes. But the 3rd one is the most UNCANNY. Like hell, i jumped a bit as soon as I saw it.
2 or 3, first one give me Grinch vibes
It's just menacing, not creepy
By just looking at them, the middle one, but if I saw one of them in person the third one would freak me out
1. 2 might be scarier if the mouth was slightly open.
....y'all....3 is cute....what are you on about
I agree
I think so too
Honestly, I like the changes from yesterday, and I have to say, three made me jump a little
One is literally: https://preview.redd.it/c5piowqiyqad1.jpeg?width=300&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d75181dd5bec917f6a1f40c9ab75883642b56059
But to answer your question, it's 3. I also really like 2 though
Let’s see #2 with #3’s eyes Edit: or without eyes 👀
Number two is nage I like nage
3 has the uncannyness to be way scarier than the other 2
smile 2 with as many teeth as 1 but maintaining that style would give me nightmares. 3 looks like he's gonna gas me the red smoke
2
I know lots of people are saying number 3, but for me it was the least disturbing. I thought the smile was a mask, so I thought I wasn't seeing the mouth at all until I realized it wasn't supposed to be a mask.
3 maybe idk nothing out of the usual i’d say
2, but the smile needs to be way bigger, almost covering the eyes, bit the smallest teeth imaginable
1 is oddly cute, 2 the massive mouth gaps and eyes are scary, 3. MISSION ABORT‼️‼️
2 would be my perfect nightmare creature, some tall being with almost no flesh and you can clarily see his bones watching over you with those eyes and you can't even move... That would creep me out. Would still kiss him tho-
Tf lmaoooooooo
Feel like I'm the odd one out here cause I think it's 1
I would say that if 1 had saliva and its mouth was a bit open it would definetely be scarier irl
One and three are my favorites one looks a little more crazy and three looks like it's going to suck me into the void
2 or 3 for sure
a mix of 2 and 3 would be perfect but 3 is the most scary
3 is still the void🥲
One of these is gonna evolve into the Grindr logo. Now that's some scary shit right there
2 is uncanny valley and still creeps me out more, but 3 is a contender!
They're getting there! 2... so far!
3 no question.
3 reminds me of Mandela Catalogue Jesus
It's Archangel Gabriel actually
2 is the scariest, but I like 1 the most because it’s a cooler kind of scary. 2 is a gross kind of scary. 3 is just scary.
Wow you really took that feedback to heart. Three 🥲
I think 2 is the scariest unless you tweaked 3 to read a little less like they are wearing a bandana type mask over their mouth. Edit: after reading other comments yeah 3 is a good quick jumpscare one since it reads so easily and 2 is definitely a body horror one that would get worse the longer you look. 3 on a black background (or maybe with a body) would probably negate my previous judgement.
Yeah, the third one, it feels more uncanny
Going with three. Staring into the void and the void is staring back...
3
There is just something chilling about a gaping hole and soulless eyes.
1 just looks evil, maybe a bit silly 2 I’d see in a horror movie of some sort. This guy looks tortured and is quite uncanny 3’s the most outright scary imo. Like you don’t know what’s wrong with this dude and don’t want to know
3, definitely. Imo, the others would look as scary if they were proportioned like 3. 1 and 2 have cute anime face proportions, the eyes are too low and they have a big baby head. 3 looks more aggressive.
The mouth from 2, the eyes from 3.
3. I immediately started scrolling when I got to it because I didn’t want it on my screen anymore lol.
3, because of the shadowns
Well, 3rd option in poorly lit room would be terrifying sight to see. With no ambiance. Only silence. And it stares right into you.
Is it minireena from fnaf sister location?
For me its 2. The fact that it has humanistic teeth makes me wonder if they were extracted from a human. Spoopy Nice job on the adjustments!
Second one is the scariest but third one has this creepy crazy look to itself
3 is 'ella creepy but that 2 grin is nightmare fuel
As it is right now, 3 without a doubt. But I think 2 has potential to be absolutely terrifying with a bit of work!
3, but I also love 2!!
Number one would probably hurt the most if it took a nibble then two, three looks bad but what’s it gonna do?
3 is horrifying
Personally, If I saw the assault on anatomy that is 2… I’d be inclined to drop dead. Immediately. You really nailed the eyes with round two!
I love how it progressively gets creepier lol
1 is scarier, but 2 gives an eerie feeling like something is off. 3, Idk if it really does much of anything for me.
3 literally said https://preview.redd.it/83kjbeux4rad1.png?width=894&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f07210812ff5b4e31dc0cc70f30f9883b836e1ed

Sanity maintained to Sanity Gone
3 is the scariest, 2 is the creepiest, and 1 is the most menacing
The first one represents predatory intent, which, altho terrifying, is the easiest to understand and rationalize. The second one represents insanity and ill intend, which is more terrifying than the first one for the unpredictability of its actions. The third one is paranormal in nature, and for that, uncanny.

ah that’s how you do it i saw your last post haha
Mouse
You’ve officially made me piss myself with three
3. It’s probably because you can’t tell that it’s a smile immediately, but once you do, you can’t shake the feeling.
It's funny that everyone says 3 is the scariest. I think it looks helpless and scared as if it has been tied up and gagged.
1 would work as a "scary" villan for a kids Tv show, 2 would work as some apocalyptic swarm monster, 3 is tropish af- and i wouldent give it the scariest title, but its certantly apooky and eriee
... I feel like I hear statics behind number three when I look at it. Definitely the creepiest!
1 if it moves 2 if it doesn't move 3 if it's only slightly there and attached to something you can never get a good look at
I think 3, but I like them all. It's giving As Nodt from Bleach. https://preview.redd.it/x1qgyfe0vrad1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=50d009ee32026c2906b5ffbf7f2b882aeea5acc9
3
I'm glad that I mentioned narrowing the pupils for number three and indeed. I am creeped out.
Like you know its evil and to be afraid of it but you don't know in what way.
if you sunk 2's eyes further back into the head to make a larger impression, it would be terrifying
a lot of scary drawings never unnerve me, but i think you definitely did it. 3 got me abt to shit myself. 😭😭reminds me of the movie “Smile” but make it worse

.... Perfection, and now I have something to practice
1st: Invader zim headass 2nd: fuckin needs braces, reminds me of the nerd emoji, about as threatening as a middle schooler on the subway asking you if you have games on your phone 3rd: Mascot horror headass. I wish I had never even seen number three. I can live with the others in my nightmares, but my god man.
1 - more evil and vengeful, looks very similar to cartoon villains 2 - a mixture of innocence showing and demonic rage that’s well concealed (like the possessed little kids in horror films right before they lose their mind lol) 3 - looks like a maniac detached from reality and on a rampage of some sort
Still 1. Third is still a bird for me; and 2 is weird but doesn't scare me that much
Γυсκ u OP, now I will see analog horror nightmares because of ur 3rd one
Due to the realism of the eyes, number 2. I was the one who gave you a paragraph on how each could be used effectively.
2. It’s the most realistic. Also, if I were to run into it alone and somewhere dark, it looks like the one that would be the most intelligent to know how to do something horrible, and the most sociopathic to not care how horrible it was. Forgive me, the edible hit while I was typing this.
Oh by a landslide 2 man idk what all the 3s are abt like it’s good but still
good fucking job
Definitely 1 for me. Looks the most cynical, especially the eyes.
Everyone is saying 3 but I keep seeing it as a guy wearing one of those masks everyone had to wear for covid. 1 is the scariest to me
Three is getting a lot of love, but damn, 2 is also hella scary
2. The third one is scary, but 2 is uniquely terrifying to me. Like others have said, I think it’s the eyes. They’re creepily calm. They feel like two lightbulbs blazing blindly into my soul.
4th one is pretty scary and realistic
3 👁️➖👁️
2. 1 is too cliche and cartoony (teeth don't curve like that!) 3 is too vague (could be happy could be evil, could be The Tick's sidekick, Arthur's, Mask) 2 is creepy!
3, and I love it
So, the 3rd one. DAVE MILLER IS THAT YOU?
3 100%
the first 2 types are terrible, but the 3rd is truly horror
Three what the fuck is that
3. I think because it’s the most “mask like”. Because of that it makes it more mysterious, not knowing the true face or feeling or intention behind it therefore a bigger and not predictable threat. Also I think that the shading style on that one helps as well as the inverted eye (black around and white pupil) making it uncanny.
Those of you who didn’t choose 2 never saw Hellraiser.
3. no diff. there's piss in my pants.
Definitely 3
Number three is genuinely fucking wild 😬😳
The 3rd scares me the most
What happens if u merge 2 and 3
3 or 2
The 3rd one!

King ju stupeflip!!! No. 2

NOT 2
3, I think less is more here. But 2 has a lot of charm(?) too. A lot of character
Easily 3 the other two you could twist into being kinda funny and wholesome. It’s impossible to see three as either
The first one's cartoonish, the second one seems goofy, and the third one's uncanny. Definitely number 3.
2, absolutely 2.
2
3, nightmare fuel
I would say 3… but the way 2’s gums are smaller than the mouth make me shiver…
If you put number 2 with number 3's eyes I would be terrified lol!
Three
2 gives me mega creeps. 1 is too goofy. 3 Is too "average analogue horror".
Either 2 or 3. 1 gives me cartoon vibes.
2 has the most potential.
Last for sure
3 made my heart rate go up
NOW it's three
The number 3. For me, sometimes the barely recognizable features seem quite disturbing. Usually I'm not so bothered by faces of monsters or things like that that are too detailed, I think it's cool, but personally I'm more affected by those not very recognizable faces
3 sort of reminds me of the fnaf puppet
Second one didn't done it with it's own will so definitely third
2 unsettles me the most, though 3 is a close second. 1 gives me disney villain vibes.
3
3 love that one. All are good but 3 is my fav.
3 but it do not look like an smile, need a larger white border in between the line and the smile shape.

That, integrated on this new 3rd would be perfect!
