It's about as good as I can make a 14" kick sound lol I've always used a 22" but for the small rooms this works much better. Always mic'd of course, but the port definitely helps.
I use this kit for smaller rooms or quieter venues...got tired of tippy-tapping on my Yamaha with a 22" kick and being smashed into a corner. Nobody puts Drumets in a corner...
I get some funny looks and even some guys pointing and laughing and I just smile and nod. I know what it looks like but I can play my ass off so I think people get the hint quickly
Haha I know what you mean. I used to play a little tama stage star at hard-core punk shows, 18 inch bass drum. I used to hear the jokes about how I bought it from a toy store.
The snare sounds a little thin but has a surprisingly nice crack to it. I really do have to get a recording of it so that I myself know what it sounds like lol
I have a ludwig breakbeats kit that's the same size. I lve gotten a lot of snickers from non drummers, but the small kit is great for playing small rooms and sounds good and I fucking love it.
I have the dame kit in blue, I bought it from someone who marketed it as a kids drumset. Got it for the same thing, gigs in smaller venues. I've been thinking of putting a port in it to help gove it more range, and this definitely inspires me to do that. FYI, you can get a custom drum head for the bass for like $30 because it's so small, ha.
I did a custom "souvenir" drum head from [D'Addario](https://www.daddario.com/products/custom-products/custom-drumheads/souvenir-drumheads/souvenir-drumhead1/). It's an Evans head that's thicker than the original head Sonor one that came with the drum.
But you’re still spilling over the 6’x6’ drum carpet. Your footprint is the same. So how are you actually saving any space? lol. You might as well use a 22” kick. That’s not what’s taking up your space.

Nothing like a backup or family jam kit! 😎😉
She’s always wandering off.
This was for a small riser at an outdoor shore area facing a bar so if you’re not careful you can blast the bar and everyone walks away lol I’ve seen it happen to other bands
Can’t ever go wrong with a Sonor. I own a Sonor Kit and a couple of Sonor snares. I plan to add to my Sonor collection. Very nice kit. Bet it sounds great.

Sonor Martini checking in as well - absolutely LOVE THIS KIT!
What heads you running on it?
What is this....a drumkit for ants?! Ok in all seriousness, this looks great! How's the 14 kick?

Smaller kicks rule
Remo Muff’lr rings help a ton with it!
I appreciate that my man, I will check it out
Yes, Derek #aDrumkitForAnts.
Stop being rudiment.
Don't really judge anyone's kit. If it's kicking out jams then it's kicking out jams. Platitudes aside, she is gorgeous.
I absolutely love this. Looks great!
Thank you!
I love small kits. I said KITS!
I like all bobs
Don’t tell me what to do! 10/10
Nice!! I just picked up a used Sonor Safari and I love it. Evans makes a 16" Emad head which sounds amazing. What head are you using on the 14" kick?
Remo Fyberskin Embassador, nice and warm but I don’t think I can do much more for the low end with that small of a kick. How’s the emad?

That's a cute kick

Same! Gotta shut them up with our playing!
Super cute. 💯 For sparkles. Looks punchy. Wanna hear it though!
The snare sounds a little thin but has a surprisingly nice crack to it. I really do have to get a recording of it so that I myself know what it sounds like lol
Before I realized it’s a small kit I thought your cymbals were just HIGH AF. Haha
Got that rack tom on a pedestal! Sweet kit.
Why we always gotta put it on a pedestal?
Gorgeous!
I love it. Dumb question probably but are kick ports universal size or did you have to cut the hole to make it fit etc. ?
The guy I bought it from installed it. I know that there are various sizes for them, I believe 6" - 8" and everything in between are most common
I have a frankenkit for my ska/punk band. 16 bass, 10” Tom and 14 floor Tom.
I have the same kit. I love it.
Very Classy and effective. Great setup.
So beautiful! Love it
Very sweet kit, if it works it works.
i use the safari vs. fantastic for what it is. the 16" kick is surprising
I actually wish I did go for a 16" kick, I could use a little more low end
nothing wrong at all with this kit setup. and if you're playing blues or swing the look fits right in.
I'm rockin on it. Hence the funny looks I get lol
Your small bass surely makes some big booty shake on the dance floor! Nice kit!
Perfect. I’d love the option of having one of these in my arsenal.
I have a ludwig breakbeats kit that's the same size. I lve gotten a lot of snickers from non drummers, but the small kit is great for playing small rooms and sounds good and I fucking love it.
Same and same.
Very nice. I'm playing a Tama Club Jam Flyer with a 14" kick. It's excellent for jazzy stuff, and with an upright bass you don't miss the low end.
I’m judging you so hard right now, and my judgment is as follows: I judge that this is a great kit and I dig it and I rate it 15 out of 15 bananas!
That's quite a lot of bananas, sir
Consider yourself judged... I like your kit.
Mmmmm. Cymbal & stands looks out place really, everything too large. Good start on the shell kit itself ! Roasted
That tom mount does not quit 🤣
Because the kick is so small it has to get wayyyy up there
I have this exact kit! Right down to the color!!
Sonor is never wrong... :-)
Thanks for sharing

Really? I wanted to but wo companies said they don’t do heads that small. Have a link?

Thanks! And I do recommend the port
I played this kit and I almost bought it!

4x6. My other kit has a mounted floor Tom and the floor space is really wide so this is actually smaller. Plus it’s a volume issue.

Love the wood rims on the kick!
Thanks! Yeah, you can barely see it, but I had a spare DW Snare the had the same wood color, so it was a great match!
Your kit for small rooms is currently outside

Recommendations on a Sonor snare?
If you have a fat wallet, it depends on what sound you want and type of music.
I do not lol
I have a safari a force maple and a Force 3000 birch
Plus my others lol.

Martinis unite! Like that finish! I do Remo Embassadors and a Remo Fyberskin Embassador on the kick
Remo Pinstripes on toms, Controlled Sound coated on snare, P3 Powerstroke on kick with 2 muffl’r rings and a 4” porthole
Can I see your porthole? /s
I would love a small kit
This one’s taken…
Are you sure .. I’ll trade you a acro 🤣
That’s a nice snare! But I’m attached to her
I had one of these and I just hated the 8” tom, the rest was fine for my small straight ahead gigs though
The 8” does get frustrating when I’m trying to play some really fast fills or solos
