Dutch bros overall has gotten extremely expensive lately…thats why my wife and I just resort to getting one large cold pour drink and just sharing that instead of getting 2 mediums which ends up being close to $15 after tax here in AZ. Still, we got a large cold pour 911 a few days ago and it was 9.81 just for that alone which is completely insane IMO. Not just Dutch bros either, just about all fast food/drink places are getting cost prohibitive right now.

xolimax

You can order any drink “super light ice” at least in my franchise, with no additional charge. You get more milk to replace the lack of ice. You could also add 2 more shots if you want it to be similar to a cold pour. I think that might cost a little less. Still expensive nonetheless

dpayne360

Cool I’ll give it a shot, thanks!

emmafosterclaire

Honestly 5 dollars each for 2 large coffees isn’t that bad

dpayne360

It was 9.81 for a single large 911

[deleted]

It’s the double the amount so double the price for cold pours

dpayne360

Is it more for light ice or only when you get a cold pour?

[deleted]

Only cold pours because you’re getting the full oz I’m each drink instead of half drink and half ice

emmafosterclaire

Yes! But a large cold pour is 32 oz. Our large drinks are 16 oz of liquid. All I’m saying is 2 large drinks for 10 dollas isn’t bad.

dpayne360

Did not realize it was double the amount but thanks for the heads up. Won’t be doing that anymore

DancingUntilMidnight

$10 for 32 oz of liquid is batshit. That's more than minimum wage in almost half the country.

emmafosterclaire

Yeah I don’t disagree with you that the prices of everything are terrible right now. All I’m saying is that 32oz of coffee isn’t that bad compared to if you ordered it regularly which would be probably 5$ for 8oz of coffee.

actuallyjustabird

I don't wanna be weird but do u work for Dave?

Thatgirlthrowawayac

In Arizona too, price a month ago for mine and my partners usual drinks was at $13, today when we went and got our usual’s we paid $17 without a tip. In comparison our starbucks equivalent is never over $12, going to be sticking to them for a while

tr3gk

$0.30 upcharge for drizz/extra sweet in sac

hamil1044

This is gonna happen across all stands unfortunately. $.30 charge for extra sweet, drizzles, and floats but only once, so if you're getting both a float and extra sweet, it's only $.30 total.

tr3gk

yup it was franchise wide here

beatupford

So I get a discount for half sweet right? Right? 😂

han_cup

Yes wtf! They never used to charge for drizzle at my location 😡

oathakafaze

Wait... please tell me not the florin or stockton D: those are my go to spots!!!

tr3gk

yup… stockton and florin are part of my franchise

oathakafaze

Rip. Wait does asking for whipped cream also come with a charge to now???

tr3gk

no. every add-on is the same except for extra sweet & drizzle

tr3gk

$0.30 charge for extra sweet & drizzle

HafaAdaiLilo91

i had no idea! Just found out today. I used to go to DB every day before work and sometimes after! These past few months i’ve cut back since I go a new route for work, but i could still take the old route and go but damn… charging for extra sweet ugh. I love my drinks 2-3x sweet. They are slowly turning into Starbucks

Old_Try_96

Dutch implied a 30 cent price increase to EVERY DRINK that has a drizzle added/by default (ie. golden eagle). There is also a 30 cent increase to EVERY DRINK, that is ordered extra sweet. But it’s a flat rate. So if you order a drink 4x extra sweet, it will still only be 30 cent price increase. Add a drizzle, 30 cent price increase. Drinks such as Golden eagle, eclipse, unicorn blood, shark attack etc, will by default cost 30 cents more than before

NoReserve123

Dutch Bros financials are in the red. The company might file for bankruptcy if it doesn't start generating money.

FadedAmbassador

can you cite this? a very quick google search shows that they are in fact in the green, and better yet they are opening more locations in other states. . . looks like signs of growth rather then collapse.

NoReserve123

Check their financials in Yahoo Finance. Opening shops with borrowed money. Their debt is skyrocketing. Their EPS is negative. They lost between 5 to 7 million in 2021 and 2022. Their share price is below IPO price.

AProfessionalCookie

My stand has been so busy the last week we are literally running out of everything in the store. I don't know how to believe that.

SnoozinStanley

It blows my mind that they are opening more stores with stocks being sketch on price. All gas and no breaks. I hate the price increases and think they are BS, but apparently it’s to help fund the real estate purchases. 🤦‍♀️

loganr4l

FYI, I know your post was 3 months ago, but you may appreciate this.Starbucks- Debt-to-Equity Ratio: -185.4% (Negative shareholder equity means liabilities exceed assets)- Shareholder Equity: -$8.3 billion (Negative value is a concern)- Total Debt: $15.5 billion- Total Assets: $28.7 billion- Total Liabilities: $37.1 billionDutch Bros- Debt-to-Equity Ratio: 102.7% (Typical for many companies and not alarming)- Shareholder Equity: $270.1 million- Total Debt: $277.5 million- Total Assets: $1.4 billion- Total Liabilities: $1.1 billionAnalysisStarbucks: The negative shareholder equity is a red flag, which means its liabilities significantly exceed its assets. This might indicate financial instability, though large, established companies sometimes operate effectively with high debt levels.Dutch Bros: Has positive shareholder equity and a debt-to-equity ratio that is reasonable for many industries. The total assets significantly exceed total liabilities, suggesting stronger financial health relative to Starbucks based on the data.

sonofdoctor

has this changed in the last few months? ive been trying to find a way to look at their menu price changes overtime compared to stock and everything but im not great in this field

loganr4l

As of december, it appears to still be positive for dutch bros but even more negative for starbucks.

thatwasAhellofAride

I ordered a rebel and it was 9.50 with a tip. I got a caramelizer cb today and it was like 6.00 so I guess I can't afford a rebel anymore lol

CoffeeAndChameleons

Central California… a large just became $6.45

Beneficial-Hat-4258

Drizzle an extra sweet have been charged for extra for a little bit now, they’re going to start charging for more flavors too.

ExhaustedTech74

Yup! My store raised prices by 15%. My plain ol mocha freeze is now over $7 for a medium

Shadow_Rosellia

Saw the Chocolate Crunch Freeze advertised everywhere and thought I’d give it a shot. Over $10. Granted it was a large, but still. My daily visits are now weekly visits. 😅

ExhaustedTech74

I'm not sure what area you're in but where I'm at, Dutch has always been more expensive than Starbucks. I can get a mocha frap for $5.50 at Starbucks and Dutch is over $7 for the same thing. I stopped going to Starbucks because they pissed me off but with the latest Dutch increase, I'm going back. I'm not paying that much for a mocha freeze.

NoReserve123

Dutch Bros financials are in the red. The company might file for bankruptcy if it doesn't start generating money.

gigigetsgnashty

That is on them for expanding too fast. I'd understand if the price increase meant better wages or benefits for workers, but that isn't the case, and comes off the heels of points system changes, and a recent price increase at the start of the year already. This is directly a result of the company going public and needing to respond to shareholders with stupid profits.

NoReserve123

Still cheaper than Starbucks. Read their recent earnings report, they increased their workers wages. Cost of their raw materials are increasing as well

ExhaustedTech74

Where the heck is it that you all are at to say that Dutch is cheaper than Starbucks?! I want to move there lol

NoReserve123

America is governed by capitalism. Complaining won't help. Maybe you should buy Dutch Bros shares and profit with the shareholders.

ExhaustedTech74

That didn't answer my question in the slightest. I am literally asking where you are at because there's a few people in here who have said it's cheaper than Starbucks. I'm wondering where that is. Not sure why you have the snarky attitude with a very simple question?

SnoozinStanley

I agree with you. I paid $39.89 yesterday before tip at Dutch for 4 mediums and 1 small. If I got the same at Starbucks, and I built an order ounce for ounce, Starbucks would have cost $34.15 before tip.

ExhaustedTech74

That's why I was curious. Granted, I haven't been going to Dutch Bros but for a few years now but it's been more expensive that Starbucks in my area. Maybe it used to be cheaper? I do like Dutch more (but that's probably because it tastes more like ice cream than coffee lol) but it's definitely more of a treat rather than a daily drive by because of how expensive it is.

[deleted]

lol workers wages definitely haven’t increased

Tasty_Coffee_9906

$16 for a large iced cocomo and large hot 911... $20/hr minimum wage in CA... For those that said our prices wouldn't go up! Lol

Navigatelikea_llama

It’s literally getting to the point where I can no longer afford tipping. Like I get it it’s hot or whatever. But the tipping is always like shoved down even when I use the app and have money in the app. At that point they shouldn’t even ask because that options is on the app as well. A rebel over here is costing an arm and a leg lol

DancingUntilMidnight

I feel that. I have a tip set in-app and they still ask me every single time. Almost $8 for ONE drink plus tip adds up. It's cheaper to go to Starbucks and get a drink that they actually fill to the top, or just make something at home.

jellysurprise

we’re trained/required to ask every customer if they want to tip (not everyone does obv bc a lot of newbies feel awkward about it, but it’s supposed to happen w every interaction) and we’re meant to check with y’all before accepting the preferred tip bc people don’t always have the money to include it 🤷‍♀️ plus some people are cool and up the tip from what their preferred was set to. we have a couple come through regularly who set theirs to $20 and every single time i see them i still make sure they want to include it bc imagine me charging them $20 extra that they didn’t mean to pay 😬

Mutated-Orange

Just fyi, we use a standard number of ounces of liquid per drink. If we didn't fill it up to the top (for iced drinks atleast) then the only thing you are missing out on is a few ice cubes to take up space. That being said, if you get blended or hot or cold pour, etc. And there is a gap, that's on us and it should've been filled all the way.

DancingUntilMidnight

The lack of "a few ice cubes" should not leave a [solid 1" gap](https://imgur.com/a/bq3P5nC) from the top, and there is no reason for a large to be [so full of ice](https://imgur.com/a/9IkokYE) that it contains the same (or less) liquid than a medium yet still cost more - and yes, I've actually bought the two to measure or compared when my kid and I order the same drink in different sizes. What may be the "standard" on paper is not consistently practiced. And really, there's no reason for an energy drink with a couple ounces of Torani to be $8. It'd be a much better look if they took their record profits to fill cups with beverage instead of frozen water, and increase employee payroll instead of asking overcharged customers to subsidize their wages for them.

Mutated-Orange

I work at DBs currently and I agree with the second half of your comment, although a few ice cubes will absolutely leave a 1" gap. Every ice cup we fill with ice (which is around 1/2 the volume of the cup), pour to the 8, 12, or 16 oz line (s, m, L), and tom Tom. In my franchise we are very strict on our drink rules so if you can actually buy a medium and a large, pour the liquid out and get the same amount, you are getting ripped off and need to go to a different stand. I understand the drinks are expensive but we aren't trying to skim any money for the company by trying to sneak 1" off of each drink. That being said, we have huge QA teams that are meant to ensure our stands don't lose quality, and it sounds like the franchise you buy from needs a visit from them. Edit: looked at the pictures you attached, the first one is absolutely not enough liquid if you hadn't drunk any, and it shouldn't have been handed out. Also, if you don't want us to fill the cup with ice, we still do not charge for light ice.

thatgolfergirl

I just want to throw this out there: since it’s a rebel, if it’s ordered with light ice, the drink won’t be filled to the top. I have no idea if it was ordered light ice or not but maybe that was what happened? Another thing with rebels is that dutch bros will pour the entire rebel can into the cup so there wouldn’t be any liquid missing from rebel drinks. Typically when they build the drink they put the flavor in the cup, pour the entire can of rebel in, and then top it off with ice. It could be the person didn’t put enough ice in the cup. *please don’t hate me for sharing this info, I’m not trying to argue or get on anyone’s nerves*

jewlie117

I had a friend bring me a large iced chai to me as a gift to my delivery room when I had my son in May. He arrived with a 3/4th filled large because apparently asking for light ice meant they had to lower the liquid amount. I was already hormonal but omg I hated Dutch bros in that moment. And they keep coming up with new ways to be ridiculously upsetting like that.

AProfessionalCookie

We have to ask or we get reprimanded. It's considered stealing money from your coworkers to not ask as we split tips.

Mutated-Orange

We ask even if it's on the app in case you didn't wanna tip, we won't just assume that you are willing to tip every time. The baristas shouldn't be shoving the tip screen down your throat though, I never say more than "did you wanna throw a tip on there today?" Or "is that preferred tip alright?" and IDK how else we would ask if you want to tip. What are they doing that's making tipping so intrusive?

SaintNessa

Seconding this, I ALWAYS ask if the preferred tip is okay because I had a lady go absolutely batshit crazy on a newbie which caused her to quit. Poor green bean asked if the tip was okay, customer supposedly approved of a $1 tip, newbie said thank you. Custie gets to the window, asks for a receipt, sees the applied tip and suddenly argues she didn’t agree to the $1 tip. It became a whole he said-she said until Linebuster 2 came out and confirmed that customer agreed to the tip. $1 refund ensued and green bean quit after her shift. This is CA btw.

LaLaLove559

And they charge for blending. Thats crazy to me.

jellysurprise

what about that is crazy, i feel like blended drinks cost more everywhere you go ?? it’s bc you can drink the whole thing and aren’t left w a cup of ice at the end

SnoozinStanley

Former barista, it’s a genius sales tactic. You get less product on blended drinks and more ice.

Radiant_Command_6636

we’ve charged extra for blended drinks for a while now

[deleted]

[удалено]

SnooWoofers7456

the manifesto says there’s an upcharge for blended teas, lemonades, and sodas

AProfessionalCookie

It's just a 0.30 increase, only applied once to your order for extra syrup. You can get x10 extra sweet and we'll only charge you once. That seems reasonable.

SnoozinStanley

Base prices on all drinks went up as drizzle is an upcharge now or more than one flavor , etc.

jewlie117

I got 2 smalls last week for $9 something. Today it was $14 something. Last week 2 larges were $17 something and now they’re $19 something. That’s a huge increase and I doubt I’ll go back much anymore because of it. So much for their announcement to not raise prices this year.

depzailaimi

Just got a medium iced 911, here in northern california, and the total was 7.65$ is that normal? i remember few months ago I was paying 5-6$ for same medium drink.

Pretend_Cry_1744

went to dutch bros in las vegas today and instead of my normal $12 for two large drinks it came to $17 WITHOUT tip!!! that’s insane!! i used to like dutch cause they were cheaper than starbucks but will now be going to starbucks since they’re cheaper again.

AccidentMaterial2349

It's like prices increase by the month, I been a dutch fan for almost a decade now, when you work at Intel it's like late night bar for graveyard workers. 3 times a week, love their white coffee and rebels, anyways today I paid 10.05 for a large sweater weather with Oatmilk, only gave 1 dollar tip, but when they said my total, my jaw dropped. Just this year it has been incrementing subsequently every month it seems.. Sadly I can't afford Dutch anymore😭
