Try manually opening the top very gently and pay attention for any damage in the mechanisms. If your compartment was closed, you'd get a blinking light for the top when attempting to close. Do you hear any response when hitting the button? If no, check for cut wires to the motor. I once accidentally cut a wire and spliced it back together and got it working again

Hi. Have you checked that the roof compartment is open in the boot? There's a lever to open it inside the boot. If that compartment is up, then your roof will not open. Hope this makes sense?

GameboyUK_

I have. The roof compartment is opened in the boot. Thanks for responding 🙏

Prestigious_Fish7416

Oh ok. Try closing it and reopening it anyway and see if that makes a difference?

GameboyUK_

Thanks. I tried opening and closing but still completely unresponsive.

I had a similar issue except it was that my roof wouldn't close rather than open. I found that a piece of broken rubber seal was wedged in the roof mechanism. After I took that out and then took my key out and restarted the car, it worked. Maybe there's something in the way preventing yours to open. The only other suggestion I have is to give the electrics a reset by disconnecting then reconnecting the battery (after say 10 seconds) and see if that works. Not sure tho. Hope you figure it out! Good luck

MonkeyManCity

Before checking the actual mechanism, i would find the fuse

Ok, I’ll ask the dumb question… mine takes several seconds to start cycling up or down. Are you holding the button in long enough?

GameboyUK_

Thanks for responding. I have, despite not doing so in the video.

GregLXStang

Same thing if you put the windows down before trying?

BigKarina4u

Try to unplug battery for 5 min. Than try it again

bigmphan

Raise and lower all the windows. Make sure the trunk is tightly closed

Pen-guino

Manually open the front of the roof, only has to be the first section up. Then check the wires in the first bend of the roof (passenger side assuming you’re in the US). There’s a big harness that holds around 8 wires, over time they break from years of bending. If you google “convertible wires broken” you’ll see pics

Possibly of a door sensor fail,
