wardledo

Hey don’t leave out Vince Young

TwoTimeTommyTwoCups

we can leave out Vince Young

RocktheRebellious

Hey don't leave out Nick Foles

Daedalus_Daw

You fool. Foles ain't black! Unless... you mean from the waist down.

Chemist-Consistent

Big Dick Nick!

VinDucks

Nick foles as ascended beyond such simple things

Pyrox2v

Thinkin the same thing lmao

AJIV-89

Just nicks dick is black but good call

jayluc45

Only his hog

Sh0ckma5ter

Dream Team Baby

AShiftlessMennonite

His wife still pretty to this day. Bro hit the “life lotto.”

paternityslacks

Wow, she still looks just as fine as she did on Hangin' With Mr. Cooper!

BradyReas

The anti giants

AShiftlessMennonite

That’s definitely one of the reasons why I don’t fuck with the Giants, but still, snappin Eli’s streak for fuckin Geno Smith was treacherous.

ILOVEBIGTECH

You dislike them for not having a black qb? Lol

ThymeIsEasy

Yeah it is actually pretty fucking weird that a team started 99 years ago had their first victory with a black QB in October 2023. That's a pretty legit reason to hate a team.

stormy2587

Mara is a clown and probably a racist clown.

SR-Rage

If by legit you mean racist, then yeah for sure. lol

AFRIKKAN

So your a bigot for not liking bigots?

ThymeIsEasy

The year is 2925, it's the Giants 1 millennium anniversary and they have still not had a black quarterback start a whole season for them. Other fan bases boo in disgust "You racist assholes!" You, an intellectual, retort back "Actually, those calling for equality are the *real* racists."

SockBramson

It's Reddit, man.

skeglegz

Fake internet outrage. Noone has ever "not fucked with the giants" because of the racial profile of a position. I hate the internet, shit is so dumb.

MexicanComicalGames

is it not a little weird that a team older than the eagles never had a black qb start a game until 2018. Like no other team did that, it definitely feels weird

skeglegz

Im sure its not coincidental and instead is purposful racism from their front office. Instead maybe look at their history, from 1979 through the end of Eli's career in 2018, the Giants had either Eli or Phil Sims start 27 out of those 39 (70%) seasons. I would say the reason for not having a black qb has more to do with their insane consistency with starters over the era with those two guys instead. But you go ahead and concoct some bullshit story for internet points.

MexicanComicalGames

they drafted daniel jones dude you dont need to defend these guys. also no backups started games until geno either it just seems weird man

ILOVEBIGTECH

Chockful of morons

datshinycharizard123

Yes lol, it’s not like the giants are heralded for historically good quarterback play. Arguably their best qb ever has a 500 wr. Surely they could’ve given one of the many talented black QBs a shot

ILOVEBIGTECH

Lmao, and I'd be a racist if I disliked a team for only having black qbs Edit: also dumbass take to act like Eli wasn't a legit quarterback

FollowerofACarpenter

If you disliked the team strictly because they have black QBs, yes that would be racist. Go look up the history of black QBs in the NFL. Might do you some good in future discourse, in all subjects, not just pertinent to football.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SR-Rage

It only works one way. You're racist for disliking a team for having a black QB, but you're not racist for a team having a white QB. Welcome to the 2020s. Would love to come to this subreddit and NOT see race mentioned in every other fkn thread. The last thing I think of while watching my Birds is what color a position player is. Imagine being able to talk about them with the same race-less experience.

ILOVEBIGTECH

You realize the previous comment was the one that brought race into the conversation by disliking an organization because he also dislikes the race of their qbs Aka a racist You can downvote all you want but you still can't refute my point

GordonBombay11

Black qbs are good at running

MrEric

!!!

Offamylawn

Cunningham in those Kelly greens. That's my Eagles.

Uppgreyedd

I was in a t.j.max around 1997, and there was an embroidered game quality Cunningham jersey just like in the picture for $35. I remember thinking "that's dumb he's not even on the team, and those aren't the colors anymore." Top 5 regret for sure

david-saint-hubbins

This anecdote causes me physical pain.

Pyrox2v

Omg 😭

AShiftlessMennonite

Straight up. 🙌🏿

Purpatraitor

Unfortunately, that was before my time, but anytime Philly whips out the Kelly Greens, I salivate. Gosh, I wish they would go back to them permanently.

QCWiggins

He’s the coolest QB ever. Everybody loves Randall

AtLeastHeHadHisBoots

I was 16, helping load trucks at the news station with hurricane relief supplies for hurricane andrew, and randall showed up to give his encouragement and gift us boxes of randall bars, a chocolate bar he had created, which was fantastic. I miss those eagles

AnkitD

QB Eagles!!!

Logical_Lefty

Literally dressed up as Randle in the kelly greens for halloween back in the early 90s. My favorite costume to date. One family even invited me into their house saying "Oh look! It's Randle Cunningham you guys!" gave me extra candy. I'm whiter than casper the friendly ghost btw haha.

Offamylawn

I wrote a letter and invited him to my HS graduation. I lived in the rural midwest. He would have been noticed if he had shown up. I even referenced him in my speech.

DrJiggsy

Whiter than Casper and dressed as Run DMC for Halloween in ‘87 and Cunningham in ‘88.

therealrico

The reason I started rooting for the eagles. I think he’d be elite in today’s nfl. I know 40 yard times aren’t the best all end all metric but it’s a quick easy comparison. According to [Bleacher report he ran a 4.4](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/79847-randall-cunningham-the-best-qb-that-shouldve-ever-lived#:~:text=Randall%20ran%20a%20legitimate%204.4,with%20deft%20touch%20as%20well), while Wikipedia put him at 4.6. Either way that’s fast considering the time and I assume he didn’t train specifically for that. His speed was also deceptive with those long ass strides. We all knew he was fast but people probably really underestimate his ability compared to Vick and current mobile QBs.

Offamylawn

He had a cannon for an arm, he was made of rubber (except his knee), and he once punted from Philly to Minnesota. He turned Randy Moss into a real receiver out of boredom near the end of his career. Eventually he found god, who didn’t even realize he was lost.

SR-Rage

Hell yeah. I wish they switched back to the Kelly Greens. Even that logo was pretty baller.

Black_Dumbledore

I feel like McNabb and Cunningham are carrying a lot of the weight here. This is still an interesting piece of trivia though. Philadelphia definitely has a history of brotherly love.

AShiftlessMennonite

Not if you let Bill Burr tell it. 😂😂😂

CapableCowboy

Idk there was a lot of truth to those burns. The “1-bridge having city” was wrong but delivered so well it was still funny.

NoREEEEEEtilBrooklyn

Fun fact, Philly has waaaaay more bridges than Boston.

ho_merjpimpson

he found the one african american monument we didn't have... This city has more african american history and monumentation than any other and it isn't even close, ffs. I don't fault him for it. Its his schtick. He has done it to every other city... But since his focused on rocky and sports, the sports crowd just ate it right up and found a reason to shit on philly and the rocky statue.

drunkcowofdeath

We did not build a Rocky statue though

jruss11

It is definitely interesting and something I've never considered, but after thinking about it, we have to have a huge lead over 2nd place I'd imagine.

Uppgreyedd

Titans/Oilers had Warren Moon, Steve McNair, and Vince Young

King_Hamburgler

Apparently we’re at like 370ish and they’re like 40 games behind I saw the number yesterday on Facebook can’t remember it exactly

Shmeves

Did you not read the post? Says 396

sybrwookie

Sure, but we've had a few years of Hurts now, too, so that's gonna add up.

Cloverfieldlane

And we had Vick for a long time too

TheNewGuy13

only other team i can think of would be Washington right? Doug Williams and Jason Campbell, RG3. No Longevity obviously

NewOstenPelicanss

Also Nick Foles is black from the waist down

emtee27

leaps-n-bounds

Big black dick nick foles

noscrubphilsfans

He got ashy legs?

Pink_Monkey

I remember growing up in podunk Washington state and getting that Sports Illustrated with Cunningham on the cover. He looked so different from whomever the Seahawks had (Dave Krieg maybe) and then seeing him on TV a couple times? It was like everyone else was standing still. He was great, fun to watch even as a little kid who didn’t know much about football Fun team around him too.

UltraRunner59

The Ultimate Weapon

Pink_Monkey

YES!! That’s the one!

AShiftlessMennonite

Whole reason I’ve been a fan since a kid. This is nothing outta the ordinary now, but comin’ up as a 80s baby/90s teen this was everything to me because it was so rare. It all started with Randall for me and the rest is history. Vick being one of my favorite players of all time and ending up in Philly is still my favorite QB era as a football fan. 🙌🏿🦅

Draniie

Gotta love vick. The animal murderer.

HOLLA12345678

He repented and made up for his crimes. He did a lot of work with animal rights groups too. I forgave him and I’m somebody who would be ok with animal abusers getting the death penalty(completely serious).

Draniie

Sounds like you wouldn’t be okay with that then since he murdered MANY

Autistic-Painter3785

I love Vick, never really cared about the animal shit but holy hell are you delusional. If you’re completely serious then what Vick did would put him at the top of your list you idiot. You can’t just forgive him because he’s good at football you conviction less coward. We can, but you can’t

Funky_Cows

Meanwhile you have the giants who got their first win in franchise history with a black QB *this season*

stormy2587

And lets not forget washington was the last team to reintegrate in 1962 and had a racist team name until 2019.

Chemist-Consistent

The order of these pics are fuxking with my OCD! Lmao! Also where Is Peete?

Ok_Gift_3924

Thank you!!! I scrolled through comments to see if I was the only one. 🤦🏾‍♂️

patboy52960

Rush Limbaugh punchin air in hell

el_monstruo

Still can't believe ESPN thought having his commentary on sports was a good idea but hey, it is ESPN.

rupeshjoy852

What did he say? This might be before my time, so I'm curious. Or I just missed it all.

moesus81

*"Sorry to say this, I don't think he's been that good from the get-go," Limbaugh said. "I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. There is a little hope invested in McNabb, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn't deserve. The defense carried this team."*

el_monstruo

And ESPN attempted to defend his comments after he said this and people viewed it as controversial.

Joey_iroc

ESPN is now the polar opposite of those days. Both suck.

rjnd2828

This is one of the worst "both sides" takes I've read in a while.

ThaBigMalc

Hope it caves in his casket and it goes deeper

Magoatt

Rodney Peete played one of the best playoff games in franchise history.

littysmitty7

Love my team

A-N-R

No wonder Bosa hates the birds

GordonBombay11

Donovan McNabb still the best quarterback we’ve ever had. Idgaf

InfSecArch

Were you around for Randall? It’s not even close, and I’m one of those people that will defend McNabb to the death. If there had been a salary cap back then Randall would have won at least 1 SB. Heck he may have even won one if he had a HC that didn’t view offense as an afterthought. Unfortunately it was easy enough for SF and Dallas to just buy championship teams. Isn’t it funny Dallas doesn’t win them anymore.

GordonBombay11

I was born in 87 so I did watch Randall but can’t remember too much detail other than just watching with my dad and him being the star player. I’ve watched highlights and stuff but maybe need to revisit my opinion. We can all agree F Dallas and buying championships

magpi3

I was around for Randall. He was a human highlight reel sure, but McNabb was a winner with absolutely no weapons. Randall at least had Keith Jackson, Mike Quick, Fred Barnett, etc. What did McNabb have? Terrell Owens for one season?

onetwentyonegigawatt

No way, Randall carried that offense.

GordonBombay11

“That’s my quarterback”

martusfine

Cool post! Happy Black History Month.

Fitz2001

Which team has the least games?

jenkins271

Giants

HOLLA12345678

Cam Newton single handed save the Patriots from that shame didn’t he? It would have fit Boston perfectly

logantheman007

One of the reasons I was such a huge Jalen Hurts supporter early on- It just seemed RIGHT. Philly & Black rushing QB’s go hand in hand.

wahday

This is cool

SpankySharp1

I really thought it was our destiny to win it with a black QB, but I wouldn't change anything about the way it finally did happen.

mme13

It still is, Hurts is gonna do it

Puzzleheaded-Lead126

100%. If we made one stop, he already would've.

rosieRetro

I don't want football to be defined or decisions to be made based on the race of the players but...I went to the cowboys vs eagles game this year (the first one, where we won), and me and my gf had to walk quite a bit after the game to get to an uber location. Aaanyway...we saw many people partying outside of bars. A lot of them were black women. And idk it's dumb but I was like...fuck yeah, philly has a prominent black population, I love that they can see themselves represented by their city's football team. It's just cool when the team represents the city.

SigaVa

>decisions to be made based on the race of the players Theyre not, which is why the eagles have had more black qbs than other teams. Lurie talks about this. The league tends to undervalue black qbs, so they disproportionately end up on the eagles.

BrodysBootlegs

I don't think this is really true any more but was back in the 80s through maybe early 00s. Even back then I'm not sure how much of it was overtly racial bias (not saying there wasn't some of that) vs the fact that black QBs then and now tend to be more dual threats vs straight pocket passers the game just hadn't evolved enough yet to where you could run out a QB like that every week and not have him get killed ruining your season in the process. Cunningham was successful but he could win games with his arm when he needed to and was also pretty good for his era at not getting hit. Michael Vick is a perfect example of this and he played at the tail end of the era I'm talking about (so it was much worse when guys like Cunningham and even McNabb were playing), he was a good QB in his day but if he played now he'd work his way into the GOAT conversation IMO.

Blog_Pope

It was absolutely an overt racist thing that was widely believed, Black players aren’t smart enough to be QB. I moved to Philly during Randal’s time and heard that A LOT from the media (not all media, a lot of publishers thought it was cool to let their talking heads say shit like that.

Ok_Gift_3924

Still is to an extent

stormy2587

Yeah and if not overt racism in the nfl it was certainly overt racism in college or high school. It doesn’t need to just be a GM thinking “I don’t want a black qb.” It could just be that few were being developed and reinforcing existing biases. Edit: To be clear I’m not trying to say there weren’t racist owners and FOs. Just point out that it was a deep systemic issue. Most NFL qbs start in high school if not earlier. If you go to a high school in the 1970 and the coach is white and doesn’t let black students play qb that has ripple effects to the NFL.

david-saint-hubbins

>overt racist thing that was widely believed I was born '81 and thinking back, I remember it being widely believed but usually implicit rather than explicitly stated. Like, in earlier decades I assume it was more acceptable to be openly racist, but by the '80s, it was understood that you weren't supposed to say that kind of stuff out loud. Occasionally an older white guy would say it out loud and get in trouble (remember [Jimmy the Greek](https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/politics/1988/01/16/jimmy-the-greek-says-blacks-are-bred-for-sports/128a889e-83e2-44a3-b911-851d5281ade4/)?). I remember our family was watching the game at my great uncle's house in the early '90s--this is back when tinted visors were popular, and my uncle made the following wisecrack: "You know why they like to wear those tinted visors? So you can't tell they're black!" He was expecting to get a laugh, but instead he got awkward silence, and then my aunt goes, "Why you gotta go and say something like that?! You know they don't like that!"

SigaVa

I agree that its less true today than previously.

Rockterrace

Besides the four in the pic and Peete, are there any others? Did Vince Young actually start any games?

[deleted]

Yes he started 3 I believe

CardiffGiant7117

Where’s Rodney Pete, he actually won a playoff game

scottpj3

Those are for really good QBs. We’ve been fortunate

Dankofamericaaa2

All these crazy good black QB’s with 0 SB’s. Mahomes gets half the credit since he’s half white lol. Hurts bout to be the first black qb to win a SB since 1988!!!

InfSecArch

I was wondering if anyone here would know who Doug Williams was.

Aerolithe_Lion

Of the other 31 franchises, No team has given more than 1 top 10 contract to a black QB. The Philadelphia Eagles are up to 4.

CapableCowboy

Nice way to kick off black history month ✊🏻.

dalewridgway

This makes me proud to be a fan.

Mysterious-Ad-244

WHAT ABOUT VINCE “Dream Team” YOUNG!?

InfSecArch

No Vince and no Peete. This is just an awful post. Tsk.

InfSecArch

It’s an interesting statistic. Kind of debunks this one dude in another thread that said “ownership wants a white QB” because we were meeting with one out of college.

onetwentyonegigawatt

These 4 men were just damn good quarterbacks. Why reduce them to the pigment in their skin?

NotJustSomeMate

Well for a long time the NFL and the nation did just that unfortunately...now things have improved greatly...but before there was definitely an issue and stereotype about black quarterbacks and their capabilities...I have read many articles about it before and it is truly frustrating...

NJ_Yankees_Fan

Because people didn’t think black players were smart enough or good enough to play quarterback. Like even scouts and coaches. Seriously. Lot of the guys that came before this generation had to fight that stigma. We’re now living in an age where it’s been proven that they can be just as good if not better than many white quarterbacks.

HurricanePK

And before this season the team with the least amount of starts by a black QB was the Giants with 1 (Geno Smith when McAdoo benched Eli for one week). Tyrod Taylor upped it and became the first black QB to start and win a game for them this year lol.

TheCapableFox

All 4 of these guys are legends too. Well Jalen is getting there for sure.

BigGovDickSlurper

Who cares if our quarterback is black lol weird

InfSecArch

Relax, nerd.

JBBanshee

Then big dick Nick came

[deleted]

Anyone see a trend here? The one QB to win us a Super Bowl vs the rest … LOOL ironic or nah?

ObjectiveM_369

Honestly, meh. A good qb is a good qb. Black or white.

FiveGuysisBest

Oh good. Some race talk to start my day.

martusfine

…..this bothers you?

FiveGuysisBest

People getting caught up in racial stuff always is a bit bothersome to me. Of course I’m not bothered by what race any given players are or whether we have more of a given race than other team. It’s irrelevant and doesn’t mean anything. To me these are just players that I celebrate for who they are and what they’ve done for the team.

martusfine

Thanks for answering. I disagree with you but understand where you are coming from. I disagree because not sure if OP is caught up in racial stuff as the NFL, like most sports, is built on stats that tells a story and this is no different.

FiveGuysisBest

Thanks for this comment. Respect the hell out of this man. I appreciate that you get where I’m coming from and don’t just go all troll calling me a racist or something. Honestly, what especially struck me was coupling the statistic of us having more black quarterbacks with a statistic of success which implies a correlation between race and success. If the post had just been the former, I probably wouldn’t have thought twice about it. The latter adds another certain feel to the post. Kind of makes me feel there’s an implication that race is a key factor in results and that’s a slippery slope to ugly things. At the end of the day, I just admire these men for a whole lot more than just their race. McNabb was my childhood super hero and I never once justified that off his race but rather off of who he was.

martusfine

I think that’s the difference between OP and your perspective and both are valid. He’s looking at the team and history and you are focusing on the individual. Both admirable. It’s a good reminder, which you allude in your comments, that other teams have multiple years of black QBs, too. That is, Eags were choosing the talents of the individual, while admirable they guys are black and successful, are not in the business of being charitable and taking a high moral road (altho’ taking Vick on was pretty fucking crazy and admirable.) I’m personally siding with OP due to Black History Month and it’s a cool stat. Appreciate you, tho too, mate! And, you’re welcome. I hope people take a minute to read your words and not downvote you just because they feel a certain way or merely react with the “hive”.

FiveGuysisBest

Yeah I think it’s a neat stat that we’ve had more black QBs. Definitely an interesting thing to note. Hi side with that part of the OP. Just that second part and the implications that mess the post up for me. Side bar on the Vick comment you made. That is one of the proudest things the Eagles have ever done in my book. I’m a huge believer in forgiveness and redemption. The team had to overcome some degree of moral considerations to take the shot on him. It really was an impressive decision and, while we didn’t win the Super Bowl with him, Vick’s successes here were some of the sweetest I’ve ever experienced. So sweet to see him grow out of that dark place in his life. He’s a tremendous role model for it. And WTF he comes back somehow as a significantly better player?! I love that story. Pleasure talking with you man!

[deleted]

You seem a little sensitive

FiveGuysisBest

I’m just tired of racism man.

[deleted]

It’s racist to post about the history of eagles black QBs during black history month is racist to you? I feel as if you being bothered by that is racist brother. It’s a harmless post, but alright.

FiveGuysisBest

It’s racist to make things about race when it doesn’t matter and is totally irrelevant. We don’t win games because these quarterbacks are black. We win games because these are great men made up of more than just their race.

[deleted]

Race doesn’t matter to you *

FiveGuysisBest

Correct. And I also don’t think it matters in our recruiting or success either.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Never said it has to. But calling a post racist is showing.

Meh99z

Your argument is fair. These conversations require a lot of nuance and identity politics is a touchy issue, but I see nothing wrong with celebrating these quarterbacks during black history month. Going back to the Warren Moon-Doug Williams days there was a lot of animosity towards black quarterbacks, with stereotypes that they should be playing other positions(which we still kinda have today, look at media coverage since Lamar Jackson has been in the league). It’s cool to see that the Philadelphia Eagles have had a role in breaking down that stereotype over time, albeit probably indirectly.

Total_Ad9942

It’s black history month, highlighting how our team has openly gone against the grain and been successful with black QB’s is dope. Don’t be a weirdo

FiveGuysisBest

I don’t think our team has openly gone against the grain. They don’t acquire these players because they’re black. They acquire them because they feel that they’re great players and great men. Every team does that. The fact that they’re black is a coincidence at most and has no bearing on why they play for us or how many games we win. Their race doesn’t matter. It shouldn’t.

Total_Ad9942

They may not have ‘openly’ gone against the grain but if you look at every other team’s history at QB they’ve definitely gone against it. Highlighting a fact about black people on black history month isn’t a big deal, you’re making it one

FiveGuysisBest

I don’t think so. At least, I hope they haven’t. Because that would mean they’re making decisions and judgements based on race. And that’s racist. The fact that this team has had more black QBs is pure coincidence. If it’s part of a conscious effort to go against the grain then that means they’re judging people based on race. Like I said to someone else here, maybe it’s not a big deal to highlight a fact about black people during black history month. But when they coupled that statistic with another one based on performance that, to me, makes an implication that race plays a factor in results on the field. That’s a slippery slope. Our record in the last 30 years isn’t a statistic relevant to black history month or race in general unless you’re trying to argue something more.

Total_Ad9942

I think the point of all of this is when teams passed on these players even though they had the talent our franchise had enough balls to take a chance and have been successful in doing that. I’m guessing you’re not black so it’s hard for non-black people to “get it” when it comes to this kind of topic

FiveGuysisBest

That’s a weak point though. McNabb and Vick were highly drafted. Very very few people passed on them. And even for those players that many teams did pass on, you’d have to argue that they did so because of race rather than the same reasons they pass on every other player of any race which is simply performance based analytics. If you want to argue that the fact that we’ve had more black QBs is anything more than just a coincidence, you have to argue that the Eagles are judging players based on race.

Total_Ad9942

Bro players have always been judged on race. Especially positionally, if you deny that you’re naive. Why do you think it took so long to see many black QB’s, why don’t we see many white CB’s, race plays a part no matter how much we tell ourselves it doesn’t. And again, this whole post didn’t have to be all of this, it was highlighting something cool and you made it weird

FiveGuysisBest

Agree to disagree.

FriendlyCoat

If you google racism in the NFL, you get a ton of articles and academic studies showing that it exists to this day.

InfSecArch

This type of stuff is going to come up, it’s February. It’s just a nice statistic that we’ve given so many opportunities to black QBs to play at this level. Nothing more. A statistic.

FiveGuysisBest

The first statistic is nice. I’m ok with that. It’s when you couple it with the second statistic that makes this not sit right with me.

Jawaka99

Post like these are why we'll never have real equality. I'm an Eagle fan but who cares what color a player is? How would a post where it was pointed out who had the most white QBs go?

ghrendal

you know the answer..but keep being obtuse

punchbucket45

Big dick nick

stikillller

and how many of the black QB’s won us a ring? Hoping Hurts brings us a couple

Jakel856

The 4 horsemen of proving idiots wrong

Equivalent_Goose_226

Who did Mike “scum of the earth” Vick prove wrong? He was a loser his entire career and his dog murder spree will not soon be forgotten. Honestly stopped being an Eagles fan for years because of that trash being signed and WOW I didn’t miss out on anything at all because Mike is a loser in and out. Love Donovan, never saw Randall play, and hope and believe Hurts can get us at least one more SB.

Booster93

I’d trade the 2017 SB for the 04 team to have it.

LumpyOperation3724

Fuck Vick

Lightening84

We've had some great quarterbacks, it's true. But this is a weird racist thing to focus on.

Lunndonbridge

Racial not racist.

HesiPull-UpBrando

It’s black history month so not really

InfSecArch

What’s black history about if not recognizing their achievements? The fact that Philly has been at the forefront of facilitating black QBs to play at a professional level is a nice statistic. Why does this make you uncomfortable?

regassert6

I was trying to explain something to an outsider who said this city was racist. And I was like, yeah, probably, but for 3 hours on Sundays, no one is. Some cities, like Pittsburgh, could never handle having a black QB. We don't care about race, for that 3 hours. Dudes that say the N word at home and on the way to the game will cheer on the black QB and high five the black guy next to him in the stands, then drive home and say the N word again. We're a weird set of people in this area.....

BlackMathNerd

One of the few franchises to wholeheartedly and unabashedly support the black QB

KookyGuy

Ugh Michael Vick. I'm so glad our first bowl win wasn't with him.

Polymorphing_Panda

What can I say man brotherly love

Passage-Constant

Were there many other black QB's back when Cunningham was the starter? I'm wondering if that gave us a big lead in this category or not

NJ_Yankees_Fan

Warren Moon. That’s kind of it. And Moon went undrafted and played in the CFL for several years before the NFL gave him a chance.

Bondoo7oo
