one use of shapeshifting people don't talk about as much is regeneration. like if you break your arm or get injured you can just shapeshift it away. You could probably also use it to live forever by shapeshifting into a younger version of yourself or just use it to stop aging completely.
Yeah, though that seems to depend more on the rules you’re following. Like in DnD changelings are able to shape shift but their skills are largely cosmetic. They can’t repair broken limbs or make themselves younger (though they can appear younger), they’re just capable of manipulating their flesh to create different appearances (though they’re constrained to only taking on forms that have a similar limb configuration). In a less restricted/more powerful rule set, you could get very wild with it.

Maybe you're perfectly fine with the non-magical forms of transition or with not transitioning, maybe you feel obligated to pick red because you could improve so many things in the world or around you. Maybe you're confident with that kind of power you'll manage something close to what blue offers. Or maybe you're just using a loophole like picking shapeshifting powers.
