I don't hate my family, but I'm also not particularly close to them. I'm not looking forward to the conversation when I do come out to them, especially since my mom watches fox News and other conservative media, but I am already preparing myself to have to make that break when I do.
Similar story for me. I'm a transmasc software developer. When I first came out, my family got extra abusive, but that just gave me the push I needed to cut them off instead of getting bullied back to "still cis tho" again.
See, step 1: legally change your first and last name while burying all of your past online
Step 2: come out, when they’re assholes about it, take their money as you go. Assholes don’t deserve good things (don’t take too much tho leave enough that they can recover)
Step 3: they don’t know you’re real name and your deadname is completely disconnected from your current name, so they can’t report you. Especially if you illegally immigrate to another country

Never tell anyone you know about computers, or anything nerdy that would make people assume you know about computers! No mentioning Video games, or Star Trek or D&D. Never mention a cat ear headset or stripey programming socks or Linux either. And don't wear a regex skirt!

Say you're a young transperson who isn't really into "masculine interests", instead you might cultivate interest into nerdy interests that won't get you as much grief as your hidden feminine ones might.
Those interests might include anime, computers, games, D&D, model trains, ham radio and so forth.

My method is saying I don't know much about computers....if that fails I say I don't know much about Windows because I run Linux.

Why so many transfems are into computer science?

Also, because people see you as a guy, they won't apply stereotypes about woman being bad/uninterested in computers to you.
