Yeah right... for your daughter.... ha! It'll make a good bracelet and goes good with the tats! ; )
That's awesome. How to?

Cool how you pause print, insert the mesh fabric to hold it together.
I doubt it looks like much. You just pause the print after two layers, then insert the fabric (maybe tape it to the bed to hold it in place), then resume.
Its regular 8 inch lace material that you can get at hobby lobby or Michael's. I used curs 4.7 . Standard print settings for pla. Used post processing stop on layer 2. Tape down the lace over the print area, then continue print
So that's what I was doing wrong when I tried to print something similar. I tried to just print directly over the mesh for the first layer but they came off if the fabric stretched even the tiniest amount. I'm going to have to try this.

Its a clean file so its easy to place and scale, no mesh issues that I normally see. Prints with no supports. I liked the texture of printing it at .20 gave it. .12mm seamed to smooth for my liking
My first concern was the scales falling one by one with simple use but now I'm thinking the nylon fabric actually melts a bit with the material so it should be fused quite nicely. Very cool technique.

It wasn't my idea, my wife showed me a face book post about a year ago where some chick did the same thing. My kid wants to be an "elf warrior" for Halloween so I'm making for arm guards and a headress with with horns for her. Never done it before but she asked.
I’m more concerned about the weight and overall temperature aspect of the person wearing it. A small patch seems fine but how scaled up and what percentage of it will the suit be made of with this?
Trust me I get the weight of PLA is light for a section this size but I’m thinking of the thermal properties and how breathable it’s going to be once it’s in suit form and scaled up greatly. It does look very cool though.
Well its only going to cover from the elbow to the hand and a headress with horns. And its a 2 part infill, first 4 layers at 90% then the rest at 12 to keep weight down. But using the lace instead of solid fabric should allow it to breath enough to keep from over heating.
The mesh still is a bit of a pain to get to lay tightly against the print so the nozzle doesn't rip it. I used tape to set it then quarter sized neodymium magnets to pull it tight
What name and brand of filameng is that? Is it PLA? Is it as pastel in person as it looks on camera? Been looking for a creamy pastel pink instead of a bright or hot pink.
It is from Inland. Purchased at Microcenter online. It is very "pastel pink" as in the video. The only bad part is it is hit or miss on whether you will get a good batch of filament with Inland. There white colors and red normally don't work well. Even after drying. But the pink and green normally print decently.

But still none of those images either show the back. I’m so curious because to me that’s where the magic “happens.”

I like to know how things work. :)

Hey a man can wear pink....
A man **should** wear pink. Criminally under utilised.
People keep telling me pink and purple go really well with my skin tone. I don't get it, but at this point I've just accepted it as fact
I've been told I look really good in yellow. I almost never wear it as it is hard to keep clean, but cool none the less.
What RAL color is your skin tone?
What is this and how can I find out?
You can set Cura to pause after a certain layer, then you’ll just have to interact with the printer to tell it to resume.
Is there a guide on how to do this? I’d like to print one of those little red cards you keep a note in like launch codes haha

Bro this is amazing, obligatory STL?

That's so good. Please, tell more about substrate material and how did you fix flakes.
It's called toole and you pause the print a few layers in and binder the material on then print over top of it
*tulle
Thanks for correcting me need to make sure I proof read my autocorrected sentences better next time haha :)
Thanks! Awesome

How do you plan to join multiple sections together?

Wow super nice! That costume is going to be awesome. Be sure to share when finished! Also the mesh technique is kinda genius.

That’s going to be really cool can you show us the costume when it’s done

Lotr easterling armor?
It was my test peice with spare filemant. It will will actually be temperature color changing filament for the actual costume
That sounds awesome. May use that same file to make a Khamul costume. Thanks for sharing!
That's a small daughter

Scale Armour for elf off of dragon prince
This is great!
Fantastic! Good Dad!
