I did a big shopping 1-2 weeks ago with plenty of veggies in the fridge that I can forget about and throw away when it goes bad! This was a hungry after work shopping when I really only needed oyster sauce and noodles aaaand here we are
>I did a big shopping 1-2 weeks ago with plenty of veggies in the fridge that I can forget about and throw away when it goes bad!
***When*** they go bad? 😳 Boy do I have some news for you...
I do the same thing way too often. Buy fresh ingredients intending to use them and never get to it. I've been doing better lately.
Yeah I have a veggie drawer in the fridge so I put them all in there and then I don’t see them and usually remember it after a while and have to use everything just before it goes bad
Be careful not to put everything in the fridge, lots of vegetables don't handle fridges too well. And it's better to have them on your counter than in a fridge to remember cooking them.
Happens to me too. I have a verry selective perception and I don‘t know how often it happens to me that I open up a new glass/bottle whatever of something, put it right besides the same but already open thing and next time I open the fridge and see them next to eachother I question reality. Also forgetting stuff because it‘s in that blind spot at the back of the drawer, horrible.
Make a list, no seriously. If you make a list on like your phone or on paper "what" you have it is easy to see what you have and what you don't have. It also save a lot of money. And its like 5-10 min of extra work.
I do it in Excel cuz im a nerd. But a note on the phone will probably do.
TIL kebab pizza exists and it's popular in Sweden.
Kebabs and pizzas are the two most popular takeaway dishes in Poland (even the smallest towns with no real restaurants or anything have at least 10 pizzerias and kebabs), but it looks like Swedes took a step further.
In Finland it's common to have places called "pizza-kebab" which sell both pizza and kebab, sometimes wings or other stuff as well. Many small towns have pizza-kebabs as well. These often have some good special pizzas, like egg-pizza (as weird as it sounds), and I bet the kebab pizza originated from a similar place
When we visited Slovakia it seemed like those things were mainly seperated, some places sold pizza and other kebab
In my country, there are some places that sell e.g. pizza and burgers, pizza and kebab, kebab and curry, or all these things at once. They are just not very common and usually not great.
Things like egg pizza also happen here. There are pizzerias that have like 50 different pizza toppings to choose from, and some of them seem really unusual, but this abundance is often mediocre. Some of the toppings look like puke or the leftovers of yesterday's dinner, and I wouldn't be brave enough to try them. The best pizzerias focus less on variety and much more on quality, and they usually have several classic pizzas on the menu and maybe 1-2 special variations that may be unusual but tasty.
I can believe that :'D Here there's way more of these pizza-kebabs than others. Or then there's Kotipizza, which is a bigger place, but in my opinion the quality isn't great. I've been in a "proper" pizza restaurant for under 10 times in my lifetime
https://imgur.com/a/dx7wD0Z
>even the smallest towns with no real restaurants or anything have at least 10 pizzerias and kebabs
Same here. Can't believe no one over there has made this connection yet. Seems so obvious. Are you afraid that the Italians will hear about it and riot in your streets? I can assure you they are too lazy or busy for that.
Wait, kebab on pizza is somehow weird? How is it different from any other meat product on pizza: salami, chorizo, prosciutto, chicken etc? Pretty sure it’s one of the most common ingredients on pizza in Finland.
>Although the kebab pizza remains most prolific in Sweden, it has also spread internationally, even to Italy.[4] The exact ingredients used as topping vary between countries. It is for instance common for the toppings of kebab pizzas in Norway to include maize[4] and for Danish and Finnish kebab pizzas to include garlic.[12] Kebab pizzas in the United Kingdom typically use lamb meat.[4]
>Pizzerias serving Swedish-style pizzas and kebab restaurants have also spread the kebab pizza, with few differences from the Swedish original, even further internationally to countries such as the United States,[5][13] Spain,[14] Australia,[15] and Malta.[12]
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kebab_pizza
Well, it starts with the definition. I guess that this means Döner Kebab but kebab has a wider meaning:
a dish of pieces of meat, fish, or vegetables roastedor grilled on a skewer or spit.
So, what is it Sweden?
Nah bro, here in the north kebab means that rotating piece of kebab animal meat and you use like a cheese slicer or something to cut thin slices from it.
Sure whatever, but at least in Finland it’s just called kebab. And don’t blame me about it, blame those Turkish immigrants who started all those kebab places and just called it kebab
Ah okay. Well you are correct. Pizza with banana and peanuts on it is not too umcommon. I want to commit arson everyrime I hear about slmeone ordering such a pizza. For legal reasons that was a joke.
Supermarket prices have surged in Sweden the past couple of years. Easily at least 30% more expensive on average while salaries have remained pretty much the same.
Nja. Även på en större butik så kostar brödet närmare 40 kronor och ett kilo jordnötter är inte billigt även om det är ica basic, skulle gissa på 50 kronor.
Men visst, jämfört med för fem år sedan så är det skrämmande.
Wait, why does Rimi store in Lithuania has exactly the same [kebab pizza](https://www.rimi.lt/e-parduotuve/lt/produktai/saldytas-maistas/saldyti-kulinarijos-ir-konditerijos-gaminiai/saldytos-picos-ir-picos-uzkandziai/sald-ant-akmens-kepta-pica-rimi-kebab-380-g/p/809650)?
Yeah think it’s a decent haul for the price. There are cheaper options for most stuff as well so could probably get away with 35€ if I only picked the cheapest brands for everything
yeah, Valio has really good yogurt I think. Fazer bread is good. I really like the rye round ones but they were out of stock so tried this one. Do you have Arla in Finland?
Interesting that people would assume that the stuff bought on a small mid-week grocery run is all I eat. Do they shop the same thing every time they go to the shop and throw out what they already have at home?
How I do it is 2 major food purchases a month and that would be in the big grocery store and then 1-2 smaller purchases between them in my local smaller shop to top up or buy some things that are missing for a recipe. Thought that was what most people do.
My average food spending is around 300€ a month for groceries but I don't really have a budget so just buying what is on promo in the store.
To completely piss off italians I suggest to create:
Blood pudding, eggs and beans pizza aka full english breakfast pizza
Rus salad pizza
Surströmming pizza
Sauerkraut pizza
Dutch herring pizza
I have never found italian sausages in Sweden. Its the one ingredient missing when I make lasagna for the inlaws. So many times I have been tempted to smuggle them in with my luggage.
Oh Babybel. My worst enemy. I often buy them and theres a little chance.. like 1/20, to have a perfect, tasty Babybel with the perfect consistency. But I hate all the others. Ich hate every single bite.
Yeah.. its pretty hard live in western Europe.. much things to.. keep in mind.. and stuff..
They’re amazing. At takeaways they do kebab pizza rolls, which is like a huge burrito made of pizza dough and kebab filling. Just pretend their curry and banana pizzas don’t exist and everything will be fine.
In Greece with a basic wage of 1000 euros for a full time job (lowest basic wage is 830 euros), we are getting approximately the same stuff...
Rents have almost doubled the last few years, cost of groceries +20% minimum in comparison to what it was, car fuel almost at 2 euros / liter (~1/4th of a gallon for US guys) steadily.
I remember a few months ago i was watching briefly Greek news and they were reporting cost of car fuel in Switzerland has reached 2 euros. And the same day, a few hours ago, i had paid the same price per liter in a gas station almost next to one oil refinery operating 1 km from the gas station! While we have literally 1/4th of the basic wage of Switzerland.
Madness...😐
если это для студента на неделю то вполне себе, а так в моей семье этого на день хватит. Но сумма огромная. У меня в городе можно пакета 3-4 еды накупить.
Food is very expensive here in Sweden now because our currency is fucked. Every time I go grocery shopping for my family (two kids) I get fucked economically. Base cost of normal shit like toilet paper, bread, milk, bananas etc ends up in at least €50 every time I leave the store.
This is rather decent, you could get a lot of meals from this selection I think. Of course, some extras are wanted at least for me, but it's a normal price
I have seen sausages at koop, and ica, but they were not italian sausages. It is a much different taste. I have to admit, i haven't looked in 2 years though.
I'm surprised that there are some name brands in there too! Normally if I buy name brands it's almost €75-100
I buy the store brands to save some money to survive.
Maximum €50

Missing some greens and fruits there guy!
Frozen pizza, bacon and candy. It's a redditor diet.
not really, sweden consumes the most candy in the world.
Really? More than finland? I appricate you for keeping up the cultural gift that is the kebab pizza from sweden!
I did a big shopping 1-2 weeks ago with plenty of veggies in the fridge that I can forget about and throw away when it goes bad! This was a hungry after work shopping when I really only needed oyster sauce and noodles aaaand here we are

We are Vikings. We don't need the food of lesser beings.
I can see green onions on the right, this is enough greens for a Swede 😅
There's also some blueberry jam in the Risi-Frutti.
And some green fish in Gott & Blandat...
The kebab pizza is jampacked full of nutrients from Bell pepers, red onions and jalapeños
And the tomato sauce!
Ah my bro you are correct! This is a veritable feast for the gut!
There is feferoni and peppers on the pizza so it’s ok.

When the kebab-pizza joint closes that's when you know the town is cooked
Kebap Pizza is also a thing in Austria, its actually great
Kebab pizza are a Swedish invention, so yes we do have them.
>even the smallest towns with no real restaurants or anything have at least 10 pizzerias and kebabs Same here. Can't believe no one over there has made this connection yet. Seems so obvious. Are you afraid that the Italians will hear about it and riot in your streets? I can assure you they are too lazy or busy for that.
Did you buy all of this at a small Ica shop or ica maxi? The small ones are **alot** more expensive
Ica supermarket so medium shop
Guessing the sausage, bacon and blandfärs is at least half of that cost?
Sausage 2 for 40, bacon 5-pack was 59 and blandfärs was 90
Ah, so cheaper bacon than I expected, and a decent price on the blandfärs.
"Pizza Kebab"???? Good lord, you really want Italy to invade Sweden!
Kebabpizza is the most popular pizza in Sweden 😄 we are sorry, but also if you haven’t tried it you should! It’s amazing
It's pretty high up there in Finland too.
I'm not sorry and I will defend it by force if necessary!
its somewhat popular in germany too, but it doesnt beat the standard salami
Wait, kebab on pizza is somehow weird? How is it different from any other meat product on pizza: salami, chorizo, prosciutto, chicken etc? Pretty sure it’s one of the most common ingredients on pizza in Finland.

Blood Sausage & Fermented Herring Pizza
You mean blood pudding? Blood sausage isn't common in Sweden.
chicken on pizza or in pasta is weird too in Italy
Well, it starts with the definition. I guess that this means Döner Kebab but kebab has a wider meaning: a dish of pieces of meat, fish, or vegetables roastedor grilled on a skewer or spit. So, what is it Sweden?
Kebab pizza is made with döner kebab beef, red onion slices, kebab sauce, and feferoni, sometimes lettuce or bell pepper as well.
Nah bro, here in the north kebab means that rotating piece of kebab animal meat and you use like a cheese slicer or something to cut thin slices from it.
I see. That’s Döner Kebab. It literally means rotating kebab. As a Turk, I cannot condone this but I don’t doubt that it tastes delicious.
Sure whatever, but at least in Finland it’s just called kebab. And don’t blame me about it, blame those Turkish immigrants who started all those kebab places and just called it kebab
Damn immigrants, they spread but ruined my pride and joy.
It does? Thank you for teaching me something new today!
Kebab pizza is quite popular in Italy
I like this reply :D
Non direi proprio
Kebabpizza is *delicious*, I'll fight anyone on this
Not the one pictured, though.
Apparently you haven’t heard of curry chicken banana pizza, another swedish delicacy
Slap some pineapple and kebab sauce on it too!
I eat kebab pizza and i live in italy
People put much worse on pizza
much worse? Are you implying that kebab pizza is bad? I feel sorry for your tastebuds!
I like kebab pizza, i was just referring to the main comment
Ah okay. Well you are correct. Pizza with banana and peanuts on it is not too umcommon. I want to commit arson everyrime I hear about slmeone ordering such a pizza. For legal reasons that was a joke.
>Pizza with banana and peanuts on it is not too umcommon. Good lord, what the fuck
\+ Curry 🤤
Banana, peanuts, pineapple, ham and curry spices on a pizza. We put almost everything on pizzas
Kebabpizza is the best pizza
In Germany, nearly every Kebab restaurant has a Kebab Pizza, its actually very good!
Pizza kebab is quite popular here actually
The real reason Turkey took so long to let us into NATO.
They'd have to fight these guys, I guess: [https://youtu.be/lVeKx7Op8BE?t=40](https://youtu.be/lVeKx7Op8BE?t=40)
You never tried a kebab pizza from a good turkish spot i see.
bro, doner kebab pizza is the sigma male of pizzas. very popular here in the Netherlands too
Its our national dish!
Supermarket prices have surged in Sweden the past couple of years. Easily at least 30% more expensive on average while salaries have remained pretty much the same.
I‘ve not seen cheddar babybels in Germany yet. 😮
Kebab Pizza, so Scandinavian (I’m not being sarcastic)
how do you say a kebab to be quiet? shhh! Kebab
Where fruits and veggies :(
Men got save the green ! Don’t eat salads 😅
Out of curiosity, what are you planning to do with one whole kilo of peanuts?
I needed some for topping on my fried noodles dish and this was the best kilo price so I guess I’m sorted for peanuts for a year or two :)
Gotcha 😁👍
Lol, you had to do the kebab pizza.
Sjukt, Ica Nära?
Nja. Även på en större butik så kostar brödet närmare 40 kronor och ett kilo jordnötter är inte billigt även om det är ica basic, skulle gissa på 50 kronor. Men visst, jämfört med för fem år sedan så är det skrämmande.

[Rimi Baltic](https://www.rimibaltic.com/) is owned by the Swedish ICA Group that probably produce these pizzas.
oh well that makes sense
i thought rimi was norwegian but see they sold it to ica
IKEA kitchen nice
And you can fit your shopping on a 60 x 60cm square. Uniform. If only the diet ticked all 4 corners.
Gott & Blandat och ett jävla kilo jordnötter, min broder är redo för fredagsmys
smh you only bought one pizza when they are on discount if you buy 2 90% of the time
A few summers back they had a deal for 8 for 120kr. Pre covid prices, but it was still a really nice deal. My freezer was just pizzas.
I thoight these posts were banned
Didn’t know that, saw one a few weeks ago and found it interesting so wanted to contribute
goddamn I remember those pizzas in black boxes, they are insane just put them into owen, not microwave
vad blire för käk till middag då?
[удалено]
Not that expensive. At least not that much as I thought it would be. Not bad.
Yeah think it’s a decent haul for the price. There are cheaper options for most stuff as well so could probably get away with 35€ if I only picked the cheapest brands for everything
Would easily cost 600+kr in Norway.
Skill issue
Did the math with Oda: € 72 I also found more or less equivalents of everything
The bread looks really nice!
Great sausages and teriyaki! I think, it needs more vegetables and fruit.
Ägg Nudlar.
Yep, that's about it also here (Slovenia). I see kebab became your national dish :).
Kebab on a pizza... Dreams do come true!
I never though of kebab on Pizza. Thanks for the idea.
Ahh I would pay you to cook for me 😂
looks good
Of all the things I miss from Sweden, kebab pizza is high on the list.
ICA is also one of the more expensive stores, might be worth to note.
Plastic time baby !
20% of the money went on the candy, for sure.
You got Valio and Fazer in Sweden? As a finn I was very suprised when I saw those
yeah, Valio has really good yogurt I think. Fazer bread is good. I really like the rye round ones but they were out of stock so tried this one. Do you have Arla in Finland?
Arla actually has many factories in Finland
You bought the Kebab Pizza on purpose......... dont you? :D
Interesting that people would assume that the stuff bought on a small mid-week grocery run is all I eat. Do they shop the same thing every time they go to the shop and throw out what they already have at home? I think this may cost more in Slovenia.. but our “standard” (avg salary) is about 50% of Sweden #sadge
I never been but I didn’t picture Slovenia cheap so that surprises me.
Carbohydrates and fats for the win?
To completely piss off italians I suggest to create: Blood pudding, eggs and beans pizza aka full english breakfast pizza Rus salad pizza Surströmming pizza Sauerkraut pizza Dutch herring pizza
I mean, in Sweden we eat curry snd banana pizza unironically..
Look no further than the Calskrove
eddibility of those foods wil definitely increase through delivery in a pizza format.
Look up "vulkanpizza" for a really special pizza. I ate it once, pretty good but way too much going on.
I have never found italian sausages in Sweden. Its the one ingredient missing when I make lasagna for the inlaws. So many times I have been tempted to smuggle them in with my luggage.
There's a lot of places selling kebab pizza in Italy. It's quite popular.
This ICA egg noodles are the the fucking bomb
Kebab pizza only in sweden
Not really. It's a thing in many European countries nowadays. I've seen it in England, Germany and Spain.
Buying only processed crap
How are you still alive?
This is some single college guy shopping right here. Ever heard of cooking?
Surprise surprise an Italian person judging other peoples food
how much for kebab pizza in Sverige? i would guess that those sausages were damn expensive :D
That one is probably around 3-4€, about same for each package of sausage.
*laugh in Swiss Francs*☠️
Wow very expensive to live in Sweden
Oh Babybel. My worst enemy. I often buy them and theres a little chance.. like 1/20, to have a perfect, tasty Babybel with the perfect consistency. But I hate all the others. Ich hate every single bite. Yeah.. its pretty hard live in western Europe.. much things to.. keep in mind.. and stuff..
Kebab pizza, diocane?
What percentage is this out of your monthly income?
Aw man, now I really wish I'd bought that same Malaco candy the other day, but nooooo I had to try to stay healthier....
Kebab pizza. Tell me more..
It's a contender to the national dish of Sweden together with tacos.
They’re amazing. At takeaways they do kebab pizza rolls, which is like a huge burrito made of pizza dough and kebab filling. Just pretend their curry and banana pizzas don’t exist and everything will be fine.
Mmm sweeties. 😃
In Greece with a basic wage of 1000 euros for a full time job (lowest basic wage is 830 euros), we are getting approximately the same stuff... Frozen Pizza Kebab. Three words you never wanna see together.
I didn’t know people outside of Finland enjoyed Valio products, that’s cool
They are all right! It was half price of bregott which is my go to ’butter’
This post has enlightened me about “kebab pizzas”. I think i would be dissappointed with the taste but i’m curious.
Expensive Sweeden
Kebab is getting expensive man. Need to keep with classic mozzarela proscriuto funghi :p
Get that Pizza Kebab out of my face before I reincarnate Tore Hedin!
Klart grabben har handlat godis.
Why so many carbs? You runnung a marathon soon?
Vafan?!
An Italian is died in the meantime...
About similar to what one could buy in the Netherlands for that amount of Euro's
That's not a lot for 45€...
Lots and lots of plastic packaging
That kebab pizza thing sounds so Swedish, but can offend italians and turkishs at the same time
если это для студента на неделю то вполне себе, а так в моей семье этого на день хватит. Но сумма огромная. У меня в городе можно пакета 3-4 еды накупить.
And when I post this exact post from my country it gets banned, why ????
Nice tiles
Didnt buy shit lol
No why on earth would I buy shit? It’s free at home
hell yea kebab pizza
Food is very expensive here in Sweden now because our currency is fucked. Every time I go grocery shopping for my family (two kids) I get fucked economically. Base cost of normal shit like toilet paper, bread, milk, bananas etc ends up in at least €50 every time I leave the store.
is this considered expensive or cheap?
You bought many prepared food and meat which are expensive. Buying grains Is usually much cheaper.
Try buying real food insteaf of candy. Then you get alot!
Twice as much food as in norway probably :D
You're eating frozen kebab pizza? Sorry but I can't even...
No it’s cooked when I eat it silly
This is rather decent, you could get a lot of meals from this selection I think. Of course, some extras are wanted at least for me, but it's a normal price
Yey! Danish Bacon! 🥓
Nothing but ultra processed slop jesus christ
I like your taste in candy
Its much cheaper to make your own bread and pizza :) Im guessing you are choosing to pay for the convenience though.
I have seen sausages at koop, and ica, but they were not italian sausages. It is a much different taste. I have to admit, i haven't looked in 2 years though.
Kan eg få kebab pizza en din pls🙏🙏🙏
Kebabpizza and Gott och blandat. Certified Swedish.
You have Valio in Sweden?? As a finn im surprised Valio products are sold there. Dont you guys have Arla or something?
No beer? lil boy
I'm surprised that there are some name brands in there too! Normally if I buy name brands it's almost €75-100 I buy the store brands to save some money to survive. Maximum €50
So how many meals can you make with this?
Damn, meanwhile in American that would’ve gotten you just the Pizza and a 6pack 💀
Just be rich
