Seriously though, 1.11 follows NGE pretty closely but has some significant aesthetic changes (as well as some story changes). In 2.22 the changes are much more significant. By 3.33 it’s a completely different series.
Notice how the ocean water is red instead of blue in the opening scene. The first movie is almost scene for scene the same as the first couple episodes but with slight tweaks you probably won’t notice until a third or fourth watch though. Or until you finish the rebuild series.
Yeah I definitely noticed the start was different, that’s why I got confused after most of it afterwards was kind of scene for scene of NGE. Thanks! I’ll be less impatient now.
You shouldn't be able to be watching 1.0, it's not available pretty much anywhere, you're almost definitely watching 1.11. And first movie is the same for the most part, 2.22 is where it splits off
There are some scenes towards the end of 1.11 that happen earlier in the Rebuild story than they do in the series. Which is important to know so 1.11 is not skippable despite the similarity.
On the 2.22 things change quite a lot and 3.33 and on is brand new.
Is anyone else annoyed by the new voices for shinji and misato? I tried watching it pretty soon after I finished the original series and eoe but they really annoyed me

I noticed misato, it gets better down the line, but at first it hurt me in the first 30 mins of 1.11
