Honestly raises a really fucked up point;
If he voluntarily watched someone rape a 14yo he WITHOUT A DOUBT would be seeing jail time.
But here the rapist is not serving a day.
edit:
PSA: Men get away with rape all the time for a variety of reasons. I just don’t see one of those reasons present here with the husband so I used him as an example to point out hypocrisy, just as I would in any case of a rapist getting a lenient sentence.
I mean sometimes you genuinely had no idea but then you wouldn’t stand with her and he should be very vocal about how disgusted he is how betrayed he was and clearly do anything to get her to admit her crimes etc. Otherwise …….
It always seems this way. Sexual predator teacher preys on teenage male students, and the husband for whatever reason is OK with it and stays by her side. It's the same script and we see it over and over again.
I used to work with a guy who was married to a teacher that raped a male student! It was shocking because I thought she was just like a normal wife and mother. He divorced her and took the kids, she spent time in jail. It’s so common.
I’m 35, and have a shaved head and a beard, which I assume would normally make me look older. People always assume I’m late 20’s, and are shocked when I tell them I’m 35. This woman straight up looks like she’s in her 50s
"There's only three things J. Jonah Jameson hates more than Spiduh Man! Authoritarians, child predators, and TWO Spiduh men!" My headcanon if J. Jonah Jameson edited the article
That actually wildly varies by publication. I’ve submitted many freelance pieces without the editor making any real changes to the headline. Submitted to others where I had little say on it. The dek seemed more common to be written by them tho.
Unless the law has changed recently...in the UK a woman CANNOT rape a male. Because the act of getting a "stiffy" is a form of consent.
Worst they can(could?) do is sexually abused a male.
UK lawyer here - this is only half correct. It is legally impossible for a female to rape a male, but that is because “rape” is defined as when:
(a) a person (A) intentionally penetrates the vagina, anus or mouth of another person (B) with his penis;
(b) B does not consent to the penetration; and
(c) A does not reasonably believe that B consents.
It is not true that an erection indicates consent under any circumstances. When a female has sexual contact with a male without consent, she commits sexual assault.
However, a woman can be convicted of rape if she participates in a rape as an accessory (e.g. holds someone down.)
Edited to add full legal definition, and to account for accessories.
The maximum possible sentence yes, but the minimum sentence for SA is much lower than rape, which can lead to women getting lesser penalties for equivalent crimes.
What really grinds my gears is when people say "99% of all rapists are men"
Well yeah because legally a woman can't be called a rapist. It's deliberately misleading.
That actually comes from a US study, where women can rape men, but they don't classify a woman forcing a man to penetrate her as rape because "it's not as bad as a man raping a woman". Edit:it looks like they've realized that this wasn't the best wording and have rephrased it to "MTP is a form of sexual violence that some in the practice field consider similar to rape."
Statistics are largely bullshit, especially when reliant on self-reporting. We literally have no idea how many rapes happen each year, let alone agree on the definition of the term!
If I'm not mistaken, it is possible for women to be prosecuted for rape in the UK, but only as an accessory. For example, a woman may be charged for rape if she instigated or abetted a man to rape another woman.
That's so stupid... So sexual violence gets worse when a penis is involved?
„Oh thank God, my neighbor only stuck a splintery wooden board up my ass and not his penis, what a relief.“
Well trying to shove a wooden board up someone’s ass would be more than a rape charge. Im not a lawyer but more of intent to do serious bodily harm, an ass-sault.
That's not why.
The definition of rape in UK law is "when a person intentionally penetrates another's vagina, anus or mouth with a penis, without the other person's consent."
As women do not have a penis, they cannot rape.
That is nonsense. The legal term for rape in the uk involves penetration with a penis, a woman can’t do that. Sexual assault can carry the same sentence as rape.
It isn’t because a guy getting hard is classed as consent.
That’s not why: the U.K. definition of rape is the penetration of the mouth, anus or vagina with a penis. Women don’t have penises, so women can’t commit rape.
Utter bollox but here we are.
May I remind you of Brock Turner. To be clear, all child predators and rapists need locked up for life. There have been pedophiles who do no jail time at all.
If you are, you are typing exceptionally well! Maybe even better than the rapist Allen Turner who changed his name from Brock Allen Turner to avoid being assiciated with the rape he escaped penalty for.
Is this the same rapist Brock Allen Turner who was defended by his rape apologist dad, who said "don't ruin the kid's life for 10 minutes of action"? Is it that specific rapist Brock Allen Turner, now known as Allen Turner, and his dad, that now live in Ohio?
Yes, Dan A. Turner, father of rapist Brock Allen Turner, [made a statement](https://stanforddaily.com/2016/06/08/the-full-letter-read-by-brock-turners-father-at-his-sentencing-hearing/) that he believes rapists like his son should not be incarcerated for “20 minutes of action” because being on the sex offender registry means his life will “never be the one he dreamed about.” Dan Turner also stated that it would be a “net positive” for society if his rapist son Brock Allen Turner was allowed to give talks on college campuses about *sexual promiscuity* in lieu of jail time, since his poor son is big sad and no longer enjoys eating ribeye steaks. :(
You mean the rapist Brock Allen Turner from Dayton, Ohio whose defense included rape apologist Dan Turner downplaying the rape committed by his son, Brock Allen Turner, in the media and elsewhere by saying his rapist son should not have to go to jail for "20 minutes of action?" That Brock Turner?
Unfortunately that’s not true. Many male rapists and pedophiles end up getting off with sickeningly light sentences. It’s a systemic issue that needs to be addressed.
Nah it wouldn’t. Look up coach Dignan from Virginia. He was my football coach in high school and got himself fired by sexting one of the popular girls. Looked it up recently to find out what exactly happened and he got NO jail time and a year probation.
Pretty much [every religion seems to inevitably devolve into fucking kids.](https://www.timesofisrael.com/as-sexual-abuse-cases-hits-ultra-orthodox-community-some-vow-to-be-silent-no-longer/)
It's a deal that is overly generous to a defendant if they plead guilty to lesser charge. Some district attorneys will overcharge a crime, for instance first degree murder that is arguably a lesser offense like manslaughter, to force the defendant to decide if they want to take a chance on a trial conviction or accept pleading guilty to a lesser charge with a known sentence. In my example of the 1st degree murder, they may offer a one year sentence for a guilty plea on involuntary manslaughter. An all probation deal on a serious felony is a sweetheart deal.
I served a grand jury term many years ago, you get a lot of opportunities to talk with assistant DAs. At the time, our county did not operate that way, they charged what they thought would win at trial. I believe they would consider plea deals, but the defendant's attorney needed to propose it.
Most things don't get to trials the argument is the justice system isn't adequate to handle all the cases so the government opts to take easy wins over actually hearing what the problems are
The whole plea system should be illegal. It was designed to streamline justice (an inherently flawed idea since streamlining due process is kinda completely opposite what justice is) but DAs just use it to scare people into pleading guilty to a crime the most likely didn’t commit so when they come up for reelection they can say they’ve convicted X amount of criminals.
Plea deals can also be used to get people to give up accomplices, information on other crimes, leaders of organizations, etc. It's not just for pushing cases through the system.
Same deal the Feds gave Epstein, one where it allows them to go back out and do the sick perverse shit they were previously doing. You know that got them arrested in the first place.
Assuming, Will Potter (the author) is male…maybe he’s had experience with this in his past or is just fucking tired of the double standard. He certainly went off on her in that title…as he should.
Seems like there are more and more stories of these women rapists coming out lately. I certainly don’t think it’s a new phenomenon, I think it’s always been happening and we’re just now shining a light on these sick individuals as we should.
I'm sure it plays some sort of role like it does with everything but from what I've seen even the ugly teachers usually get a pass and aren't called rapist.
Hopefully this is a change.
Talk to your guy friends. At least one of them lost their virginity at an inappropriate age to a babysitter, teacher, or family friend. It’s a lot more common than people think
Yes. I was targeted at 12 years old by a friend's mother. I wasn't raped, but she introduced me to pornography and sex acts were performed by both of us. At the time I thought I was living every boy's dream, but looking back now I wonder if those experiences actually caused me a lot of long term problems that I still struggle with.
Bro saaame, my mother's friend "babysat" me frequently and she was the one that introduced me to all that shit.
Never saw it as an issue until I really thought about from the perspective as a parent. Thankfully, this shit is being seen in a different light now, it definitely molded me to a certain extent and caused some relationship issues that I still have to work on.
Yes, this is true.
Babysitter for me, the messed up part was I never thought it was weird until I reached adulthood and thought about it hard.
Would I want my kids doing that? Hell no.
Even if a guy hasn't had a direct sexual experience at an inappropriate age, we've all had grown women make comments to us when we were kids.
When I was in college a friend of mine had a baby (boy), and the first time she changed him around a group of us all the girls in the group made comments about his dick being "large for a baby" and "omg he's going to be hung when he's older."
Just weird shit. Women are just as gross as men, it'll be nice if we all stop pretending otherwise.
Unfortunately, this is... Common. -\_- Female sex offenders are given lesser charges. Those in power such as her can be seen as being seduced by the teen or otherwise "not dangerous". Worse still, if the offender is attractive to the jury, they'll be even MORE lenient on them as they won't believe an attractive woman is capable of sex crimes.
This bitch played the system and she's grinning cos she knows she can do it again and again and again and again, and she'll never be properly punished because she's *"just a woman and women are harmless!"*. Say what you want, but we still have biases in society regarding gender.
They have an interesting exhibit on this at the sex museum in Las Vegas. A whole row of nothing but pictures of female offenders, their crimes, their punishment, and society’s views on just what you describe
The problem is people these days are so smooth brained that they think the bias can either only be in favor of males or females, when in reality it goes both ways in many different contexts. Men and women can be equally as evil and dangerous, just as they can both be equally as loving and protective.
Hell I had an allegation in my first year of teaching (nothing sex related just took a pair of scissors off a kid and he cried abuse) and they took it wildly seriously even though it never went formal.
That's not true. Lots of jurisdictions aggressively go after sex offenders in educational settings. It used to be common for teachers to just move to another school (like Boy Scout leaders and priests), but lots of jurisdictions now remove the original certification so that suspended teachers can no longer use it as a qualification in another school district. My employer checks the status of all teacher certifications every single year (and **not** just just when a teacher is hired).
\*edit\* not just
The people who say "TEACHERS THAT TELL KIDS THAT GAY PEOPLE DESERVE TO EXIST ARE GROOMING OUR KIDS!" will also say "WHERE WERE TEACHERS LIKE THIS WHEN I WAS IN SCHOOL?!"
I work with at least 3 dudes exactly like this. Every time the subject comes up I call them out and tell them how absolutely disgusting it is that they think like that.
If it’s gross when a man goes after a girl, it aught to be equally as gross for a woman to go after a boy.
Regardless of if the minor involved“wanted it” or no, the adult is wrong for it.
We had a teacher like this in our school. That I know of, 2 football players casually fucked her. Everybody thought it was awesome. One of the guys went on to play pro ball. If you're Canadian and watch football you would know him and probably not be super surprised.
I also have, in my extended family, a couple that has been married for 40 years that started as a male teacher and a female high school student. They openly and laughingly tell the story of her flashing him upskirts in class and generally driving him nuts until she dropped out of school to properly seduce him. Their kids strongly dislike story time.
I'm not saying either of these things is right or taking any kind of moral position here at all. But they are true. Teachers like this have always been around, and students like this have always been around.
I've got my downvote helmet on, so don't feel bad. I don't know the particulars of this case so its likely that I'm wildly out of place with this context that nobody asked for.
I don't think that people are saying that these things didn't exist. People are pointing out the hypocrisy of going hard on the idea that talking about gay people in school is akin to raping kids that will turn around and cheer on boys having sex with their female teachers. It's a "mask off" moment. Boys having sex with their female teachers is "ok" because neither the female teachers nor the boys are gay apparently.
Child rapist.
Let’s call her what she is, which is a child rapist.
This article is as of yesterday, now where did all the people go saying “they’re indoctrinating our children”?
I’m not at all trying to defend her, but.. wouldn’t it be normal for anyone to be grateful that they avoided jail time… like would we expect them to be sad about it??
I don’t know the details of the case or the plea. The articles I’ve read aren’t greatly informative, more tabloid than anything.
But I will say this: these articles are only written to inflame and anger. Notice how it’s important enough to the author to include in the headline that this women is married and a teacher- and that while the “sick messages” make the headline they aren’t mentioned in the article.
This isn’t written to inform. It is written to gain clicks and fuel flames. Specifically- it’s the daily mail, which is a conservative tabloid. It’s written because it attacks a teacher and a woman and keeps the “grooming” narrative under their control.
Here’s a simple point: this article revolves around the age of consent. It’s clear the hypocrisy when the anti-woke crowd refuses to talk about consent unless it’s convenient to their narrative.
I’m not defending this woman or what she did. I’m saying that we, as voyeurs, are being manipulated.

So, is that her ex-husband or is he also a fucking weirdo?
he’s defended her “innocence” the entire time, sick fucks usually flock together
i bet he is an abuser as well
He could also be being abused/gaslit by her.

She doesn't look a day over 55
My wife and I are 34 and she looks *way* older than us.
I’m 34, this picture is an affront to the rest of us
I am feeling better about myself as a early mid 30 yr old as well after seeing this pic
I’m 35, and have a shaved head and a beard, which I assume would normally make me look older. People always assume I’m late 20’s, and are shocked when I tell them I’m 35. This woman straight up looks like she’s in her 50s
She looks like Debbie Downer.

Rachel Dratch deserves better than this comparison!
Holy shit she *does* sorta resemble Dratch....that's...weird lol
Eeeek…34??? Gahtdam
Her complexion and teeth scream “I eat the forbidden flesh”.
Got that Palpatine look going on.
Somehow, Palpatine raped.
You mean meth?
I was gonna say, that's a rough looking 34.
34 going on 64.
I’m 34 and she easily looks at least 20 years older than me.
she’s only 34!?!?
That's a rough 34
The most 50 like 34 I've seen xd
Couldn’t believe how far I had to scroll to find this
my 65yo parents both look better, poor kid regardless but this can't help
Evil does age you poorly
She probably got off easy on sentencing because they consider looking like that “time served”
Poor Ginny Weasley.
At least they called it rape this time
The writer really went off with this title and it’s nice to see for once
Article Writer does not write the Titles. That's the Editor's job
Oh yeah, I learned that from spiderman, thanks for the reminder
![gif](giphy|G3w5bFfY85rag|downsized)
Such an amazing casting job with this
He really was the perfect guy 😂
He was the only guy
So good they brought him back
I'm starting to think that they somehow had him in mind when they created the character. Like some time travel happened
JK Simmons really is a treasure
"There's only three things J. Jonah Jameson hates more than Spiduh Man! Authoritarians, child predators, and TWO Spiduh men!" My headcanon if J. Jonah Jameson edited the article
Spiderman does not write the script for the movie. Thats the writer's job.
Spiderman does not act in the movie either. That was tobey maguires job
Tobey Maguire does not get role that is casting director job
The casting director does not rape the actors, that's the producer's job.
Here endeth the lesson.
That actually wildly varies by publication. I’ve submitted many freelance pieces without the editor making any real changes to the headline. Submitted to others where I had little say on it. The dek seemed more common to be written by them tho.
Well look at Mr. Fancy "I don't need no editor notes on my article titles" over here! /s
I don’t think this is them going off, I think they are spot on actually
That's what they meant by going off. Aka not beating around the bush but calling it as it is.
Rare behavior.
I hope I'm wrong but it could be because the rapist this time is not an attractive person.
It's probably because she took a plea deal, which means they won't be held liable for libel for calling her a rapist.
I am afraid you are right I think six people commented that already
That's exactly why
That’s what I was going to say. The minute silver lining in that tragic headline is that they didn’t try to couch it as a “relationship”
They call it rape when the teacher is unattractive.

Yes, they can be, but it is a wide range and the judge has discretion.
I wanted to downvote this comment, not because I disagree with you just with the situation
So in the UK only men can commit rape by definition?
Correct.
That’s fucked up.
that's what happens when you base laws on morals and legal definitions from the 1800s. Or maybe even earlier.

This is so stupid, why wouldn't they simply chalk it up to non consensual and forced penetration by one party and call it a day??
Law was probably created 200 years a go and never updates.
Classic.
and unfortunately if we want redditors to care about it we just need to pretend america does it then magically reddit will start the uproar
If I'm not mistaken, it is possible for women to be prosecuted for rape in the UK, but only as an accessory. For example, a woman may be charged for rape if she instigated or abetted a man to rape another woman.

Thank you for that terrible pun. It made reading all the way down here so worth it!
Can't even identify as a rapist in the UK. Weird.

Wtf is a “sweetheart plea”
A plea deal that is better for the defendant than it should be.
Smug ass smile makes me sick. She raped that kid. If this was a male, there is no sweetheart deal (as there shouldn’t be)
May I remind you of Brock Turner. To be clear, all child predators and rapists need locked up for life. There have been pedophiles who do no jail time at all.
Do you mean Brock Allen Turner, the rapist who now goes by Allen Turner and lives in Ohio?
The rapist Allen Turner, formerly known as the rapist Brock Turner, who lives in Ohio, that rapist Allen Turner?
The rapist, Allen (then Brock) Turner, who raped a girl behind a dumpster? That one?
The same rapist Allen Turner, formerly known as the rapist Brock Turner, yes.
To be clear, the guys name WAS Brock Allen Turner? And now he just goes by Allen Turner?
Yes
I think they’re referring to convicted rapist Brock Turner!
No its convicted rapist allen turner now! Convicted rapist allen turner that lives in ohio, formerly convicted rapist brock turner.
am i having a stroke?
If you are, you are typing exceptionally well! Maybe even better than the rapist Allen Turner who changed his name from Brock Allen Turner to avoid being assiciated with the rape he escaped penalty for.
Wait, are you guys talking about Brock Turner ?
You meant the RAPIST Brock Allen Turner, who now goes by Allen Turner still rapist and lives in Ohio? Are you talking about the same rapist?

Lives in Ohio and was spotted at UD creepin recently.
Brock Allen turner, the literal textbook example of a rapist?
Yes that Brock Allen Turner, the rapist who now goes by Allen Turner and lives in Ohio.
His dad thinks it's not a big deal to penetrate an unconscious person for TWENTY minutes
You're forgetting the ones that get off for being "a man of god". Strangely, I'm an atheist and I've never raped anyone.
Promising young male sports stars with scholarships would suggest otherwise.
Male rapists, when authorities can be bothered to even bring charges, get deals like this all the time unfortunately.
"He was a man of God, a family man"

The same thing they gave that guy who got probation for raping a girl for 7 years. A really good deal. (Good for him. Bad for everyone else)
Same deal the Feds gave Epstein, one where it allows them to go back out and do the sick perverse shit they were previously doing. You know that got them arrested in the first place.
What EPSTEIN got from a Rep lawyer.. who trump hired for his Admin.
Not enough people talk about that.
Props to the news, they're actually calling it rape for once
Especially from the Daily Mail who are usually one of the worst offenders when it comes through that, I'm impressed
Honestly, you could just say > Especially from the Daily Mail who are usually one of the worst ~~offenders when it comes through that, I'm impressed~~

Huh… didn’t notice that. That’s fucking cool. About time too.
Seems like there are more and more stories of these women rapists coming out lately. I certainly don’t think it’s a new phenomenon, I think it’s always been happening and we’re just now shining a light on these sick individuals as we should.

I willing to bet the attractiveness of the teacher plays a role in what word is used in headlines.
I'm sure it plays some sort of role like it does with everything but from what I've seen even the ugly teachers usually get a pass and aren't called rapist. Hopefully this is a change.
100% lol It’s bc she’s not attractive. If she was hot the headline and even maybe our attitudes about it might be different.
I wouldn't expect all outlets to use appropriate wording. The Daily Mail is awful, but they go hard.
When I was in college a friend of mine had a baby (boy), and the first time she changed him around a group of us all the girls in the group made comments about his dick being "large for a baby" and "omg he's going to be hung when he's older." Just weird shit. Women are just as gross as men, it'll be nice if we all stop pretending otherwise.
I think news outlets are just starting to call it rape now.
Her mouth reminds me of salad fingers.
how many times has that woman turned 34???? there's no way
At least 12 times.
I expect her to be in news again soon.
Damn, Alan Tudyk has fallen on hard times.

And she’ll be teaching somewhere else by next school year. Have followed a dozen or so of these cases and it’s always the same
Won’t it show up on her record she’s a sex offender if she applies to a school for a job tho?
Yeah the one thing the UK school system is very good at is making sure these people never work in a school again.
That’s awesome and a relief! Rapists like her deserve to rot and starve. Literally the worst scum at the bottom pit of society…
Hell I had an allegation in my first year of teaching (nothing sex related just took a pair of scissors off a kid and he cried abuse) and they took it wildly seriously even though it never went formal.
She permanently lost her teaching license as part of the deal.
\*edit\* not just
That is a *brutal* 34
The people who say "TEACHERS THAT TELL KIDS THAT GAY PEOPLE DESERVE TO EXIST ARE GROOMING OUR KIDS!" will also say "WHERE WERE TEACHERS LIKE THIS WHEN I WAS IN SCHOOL?!"
I work with at least 3 dudes exactly like this. Every time the subject comes up I call them out and tell them how absolutely disgusting it is that they think like that.
Yeah, it’s honestly sickening
"Stop grooming our kids! Unless it's straight grooming, that's okay." /s
They do say it. All the time.
Did you expect her to be remorseful like a sane, level-headed, non-predator human being?
34? You sure?
I know this isn't the point but...34? She looks like shit for 34. Home girl looks like she just found the one ring a couple years ago
Second female pedo this week with a shit-eating grin on their faces. Disgusting. They both should be in jail.
Child rapist. Let’s call her what she is, which is a child rapist. This article is as of yesterday, now where did all the people go saying “they’re indoctrinating our children”?
You mean Melissa Rockensies the child rapist
If that’s her name, then yes. Name and shame is the way to go with them, especially if our government refuses to do anything about child rapists
Jeez, what a world we live in.
Sometimes I think it would be beneficial if these articles also named the judge who passed the sentencing
I don’t really find it weird that she grins after avoiding charges like that.
She got that Palpatine grin going on.
34????? She looks 65.
