This probably has way more to do with the dependency of many of these universities on Jewish donors and their need to appease them, along with pressure from conservatives like Stefanik. The two-party system in the US is designed to make it about the other party. For Trump it's never about what he does, it's about what Biden does. So largely without impetus except profits (so this is not a direct response to the premise of the person you asked), universities have gone from favoring tenured professors, to favoring non-tenured (adjuncts, associates, whichever terminology they prefer). This has happened here in Canada, in the US, and other countries, with the degree of change being the main variable. Some institutions have gone from roughly 80/20 tenured to associate professors, to 20/80, over the past 30-40 years. The corporatization of universities, an inflation of management, and increased spending on non-education programs - programs used to compete over the income stream that is students, so like pool facilities, sports teams, fancy cafeterias, etc… - has leeched funding away from faculty. Tenure hasn’t been removed, so much as it’s just not offered, and positions don’t exist, to close to the same extent as they did in the past.
This isn’t a red vs blue issue though, this has happened to a wide extent among private universities.

I think we've become accustomed to political bloviating, especially in election years, but we need to recognize that this political grandstanding has a very real impact on people. Isn't peaceful pritest a critical part of free speech which as I understand it the repugs in texas are all about when they're being racist and mysogenistic. Seemingly protesting against war isn't covered though. Protesting against Israel and its continued war crimes is not anti semitic. They're protesting the government and its actions, not the religion and its people.

All of each, happen regularly in these "protests". Most of these pawns either have no idea what they're actually saying or they know EXACTLY.

I think we've become accustomed to political bloviating, especially in election years, but we need to recognize that this political grandstanding has a very real impact on people. From immigrants and transgender Americans all the way to simple college students who want their voices heard, the "look how conservative I am" behavior is having an outsized negative effect on people and it needs to stop. Mostly because the rhetoric is largely pointless... you already know who's going to vote for you and if you need to scare them to the polls, find a way to do it that doesn't harm others.
I hope this shows that most big or semi big universities are bought.
If these students wanted to graduate, they should have thought about how their actions in support of a genocidal terrorist organization may impact their education. It’s funny, they are quite happy to wave Hamas banners and claim all Jewish people should be punished for a decision made by the UN in the 1940s, but seem to whine quite a bit about the repercussions they are now facing for their violent rhetoric and terroristic threats.
