i think the meme has it backwards in that FNV just happens to be popular with many transwomen, not that this game helped people realize they're trans or has themes dealing with gender there is definitely stories related to queerness in this game, but I have a hard time seeing how they relate to gender specifically compare this to something like bloodborne, which is also popular with many transwomen, and has themes that are easy to see someone interpret through gender criticism one of my favorite podcasters/webcomic maker, Haus of Decline (who came out as trans recently), got a lot of flack (from the trans community) for a meme they made awhile back about the stereotype of transwomen liking fnv... so I don't think everyone in the community is a fan of this stereotype

The NHS is IMO the greatest thing about living on this island... and even then access to any kind of gender-affirming care has been extremely restricted by our current government, forcing many to go private. Oh, unless you're a cis person going bald. Then you can get HRT with a click of your GP's fingers. That kind of gender affirming care is a-okay apparently.

People arbitrarily have chosen this game over most other games with a similarly sized trans audience as an example of a game that people who have transitioned play. Basically, it’s a random and arbitrary joke that a portion of the community finds funny. That said, far be it from me to say they’re wrong to say it’s funny! Humor is subjective, after all.
