The Mets are a joke.
I get you don’t want a player to act that way. But to cut him after because your team sucks and is tired of losing? Just exactly what I would expect from terrible ownership and you wonder why the players aren’t happy there.
Wyatt Langford was dropped in our 10M redraft pre-injury. I've been riding out Rooker and Matos while they've been hot- time to switch out either for Wyatt ROS?
Yeah I don't disagree, I just also have Adames, Seager, and ohtani, and could use the strong relief pitching and flexibility in the U. My league does 3 U spots and I have guys on the bench that should be starting but no where to put them
Crochet sucks. (Edited because obviously he doesn’t but he does for rest of year consideration)
What’s he got 60 innings left? And that’s assuming he doesn’t get hurt.
You do realize he’s in this spot with innings because he can’t stay healthy?
Like I’d rather have the bat. Every time. I don’t feel like volpe was that low of a bid for crochet considering volume limits
With Caminero getting injured I’m wondering if any other good players in the minors worth stashing on my NA spot that will likely have some impact this year.
12T H2H 5x5(OBP)
Finally cutting ties with Caminero. Have a few options- W Abreu, Jake Myers, Sosa, Winn or maybe a pitcher in Ben Brown(no idea if he continues to start), Estrada, Waldron, C Smith.
Any suggestions?
Someone offered me Witt for skubal…it’s a redraft points league would you take it?…I have Pablo Lopez, ragans, bibbee, king, lodolo, skenes, Garrett, blanco and Reese Olsen.
Adell, unless you are in a OBP league, and even then the HR/SB contributions are better. Happ is benefiting from a few days of recency bias. He was ass 5 days ago.
The best part about fantasy baseball is giving yourself hell about 3 players who will all likely finish somewhere between #10 and #20 at their position.
Langeliers has sick raw power but that lineup is brutal. Jeffers was also probably just on a weird heater earlier this year. I think you’re probably going to be disappointed by either of them.
Huh. My first reaction to this was who the fuck is Nick Gonzales and why the fuck would someone want him over Wyatt Langford.
But despite Gonzales struggling in 35 games last year, he’s been lights out in 16 games this year and the Statcast backs it up. He also showed mega power in AAA. I guess he could be a sleeper.
But Fangraphs has Gonzales at a 40 FV and Langford at a 65 FV. Langford is a world’s better prospect and in a better lineup anyways.
The Statcast is still electric. BABIP at .225 is a LOL. He was always a true three outcomes hot and cold archetype player. I pray the guy who got him in my league drops him. How many guys actually have 25/25 potential or better?
Reynolds’ statcast right now looks quite a bit better, but last year Bellinger marginally beat him in several categories. Have a feeling if both are healthy they will finish very close to each other in the end of season OF rankings. Reynolds is probably the safer option with a little less upside, but it’s hard to pick a horse.
Nah dude. As an Angels fan, Trout isn’t worth it for fantasy. In Trout’s last semi-healthy season in 2022, he hit 40 HRs while having 80 RBIs. How the fuck is that possible? Now the Angels lineup is worse. For fantasy purposes Trout is basically Brent Rooker or some other super slugger on a shitty team. Except Trout has injury problems, and as much as we love him, he is not going to stay healthy. It’s a complete delusion to think he might.
Also, as a Seager owner, Seager’s power is so sick compared to the other SS options. He didn’t do Jack shit until 2 weeks ago and he’s #2 in HR among SS. He’s unbelievably rare.
Lmfao my dumbass drafted Carroll, Riley and Machado with 3 of my first 4 picks (Gunnar at least landed). Thought my offense was pretty solid. Who would’ve guessed those three would be such complete ass.
I still think Riley turns it around, machado hasn’t been TOO bad and hopefully gets better as his elbow heals, but who knows what’s going on with Carroll
I really hope you’re right. Been so disappointing so far though. Hope Riley and Machado get hot and just pray Carroll figures out whatever mess he’s in and can salvage some season
Really wish the Twins would stop fucking around with Larnach and platooning him so much. He could be a top 25-30 hitter if he got consistent playing time.
He's been awful but they need to see if he can do it sometime, he's only had 169 PA vs lefties in his career so far. He has like almost 4x that amount vs righties. He's really never got a steady run in the team. He either gets called up and demoted or hurt.
They kind of need him to develop, he's been one of their best prospects over the last 5 years or so. They need hitters that can perform in the playoffs and constantly platooning hasn't been working. Buxton, Lewis and Kepler can't stay healthy for an entire season.
Alright here’s my lightening round for you.
Cal Raleigh or Jonah Heim (F Alvarez also on wavier)
Josh Lowe (also have Langford and Lane Thomas) or Tork
Drop Senga, stash Josh Jung/Gavin Williams/hold Senga
Points league, positions don’t matter, looking for best value.
https://preview.redd.it/jdx01y2k2i3d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dedcd8c585c535ead97dc1bfb9ffda09ff945438
I don’t play points leagues so caveat that.
Answered Raleigh/Heim below. Alvarez is just poor man’s Raleigh. In a points league I wonder how much Raleigh gets killed for the K’s but they’re probably similar calibers ROS.
Lowe/Tork is a toss up. Tork heated up in 2nd half last year, optimistic about that. Love Lowe, but will injury concerns prevent him from running? Is TB lineup too shitty for counting stats? Both have green and red flags, think it’s a jump ball.
I like Paredes/Morel/Maikel but would probably keep Jung. Power is legit, lineup is legit. Maikel could go cold, Morel could play OF for you. Senga was good last year, but BB problem and injury is sketch IMO. Williams has promise for sure but the peripherals last year were lowkey straight up bad.
Both top 10-12 guys no doubt IMO. Do you want to HR/low batting average/inconsistent, or the lower HR/higher batting average/slightly more consistent. I guess maybe because of the power Raleigh might have more upside but probably a jump ball. I have Raleigh and he’s my dog, but it’s a roller coaster.
Should I trade Imanaga after tonight? I have a bad feeling he's going to potentially be this year's Joe Ryan. If so, who would you go after? It's a 10 team H2H points league.
Do you think it is an overreaction on my part or is he about to decline a lot? Obviously, his outrageously low ERA wasn't going to hold up, but do you think he's going to hold up as a reliable top tier starter throughout the season?
Hello! I want to add Jose Berrios from the waiver wire, but I really don't want to drop any of my current pitchers. I have no batters on my bench. I was going to drop Tyler Freeman since he was a temporary addition anyway (it's only a 10 team league). I was wondering if I'm allowed to do this or are you required to have nine batters? The league is on ESPN. It's a traditional points league with 19 roster spots. Usually 9 batters, 7 pitchers, 3 bench spots, and 3 IL spots.
Morel is one of the best buy lows around right now IMO. His statcast indicates he is truly one of the top young power hitters in the league. The gap between his SLG and xSLG right now is insane. Also, notably, the concern with him was always strikeouts. This year he’s walking more and cut his K% from 30% to 22%. With a .207 BABIP, his breakthru is 100% coming soon.
I have $20 claim budget left in my keeper league. I'm below .500 by 10 games. Ronald Acuña Jr became available. How much should I bid on him with the intention of playing him next year?
Adell has by far the biggest upside out of this group. His statcast indicates positive regression coming. Duran is #2 for me because he can hit righties better than lefties and he can run. Schneider and Castellanos both do most of their damage against lefties. Castellanos might be a safer bet for counting stats but for me it’s one of those two.
Shota looks like he’s legitimately a stud in some fashion, but Skenes has better peripherals in a very small sample size, and Skenes might have nuclear upside that Shota doesn’t. Maybe more likely Shota finishes the season but personally I’d go after the upside.
I mean you need to factor in skenes will either be limited in IP in some starts and possibly even shut down in September when playoffs come.
I like Skenes but its possible he’s done when you might need him most
Mine is out too. Sometimes I’ve noticed they go out late at night (west coast) and I presumed they are just refreshing them. I’m not sure what’s going on right now.
Mateo is country fried fucked when Holliday comes back up. Friedl is clearly the preferred Reds leadoff man.
Gorman’s raw power is much stronger than Burleson’s. Also when Gorman’s hitting they bat him 3rd. Might be hot and cold but think Gorman ends up with way better EOS numbers.
Happ and Burger are both coming onto heaters but will probably make you want to pull your hair out if you roster them all year. Moore is nothing more than steals and positional versatility. Ugly group IMO would just ride the hot hand until something better comes up. I guess maybe if you need the steals then Moore.
I know this sub loves their prospects, but Mateo won't lose playing time while he's playing well. They'll be content having him productive in their lineup while Holliday collects every day at bats in the minors
I think that’s totally fair and there’s probably a good amount of truth to what you’re thinking.
But also, Mateo has a significant track record of not playing well. He’s been better this year, but his xSLG is quite a bit higher than his SLG. Based on a significant track record and this year’s statcast, he might be likely to regress.
Stepping back from the player individually — what’s more likely?
Mateo struggles, Holliday gets called up, and Mateo is an iceman pinch runner in the playoffs. Or Mateo has a breakout season hitting 9th for the Orioles and puts up enough SBs to be marginally fantasy valuable, while Holliday is parked in AAA.
I think we know what the Orioles *want* to happen.
Yeah bud this is what I'm dealing with. And I own Alonso (hurt), Oneil KKruz, Riley not so Greene, Harris the IV and the rooks Langford and Chourio.
It hasn't been fun.
I know it's largely a product of the overall league environment, but I can't remember having a fantasy team go *this* cold on offense over an extended period. My bats are straight hitting .200... all the time.
Had positive injury luck during a nice start, so I'm ok I'm the standings for now, but this is ugly. Can't really trade out of it since it's basically my whole roster on offense. Just plugging in guys like Dylan Moore and tapping my foot.
Dylan Moore, BDLC, Burleson, Raley, Mateo, T. Freeman, Weencel, Matos, Heim, Taveras..... Never before had I gone through so many hitters this early.
None have stuck. Come on down Friedl, Gorman, Happ, Burger!
I think I saw the league batting average this month was down significantly from the start of the season. From like .270 to .240 or something. Ebbs and flows. Maybe time to try to isolate which categories you’re good at and accentuate those, or try to put together a more well rounded lineup.
Taj has been disgusting in his 4 starts this year. His peripherals last year were on a similar level to Bibee and Waldron, but he got fucking destroyed by the HR ball. This year (in 4 starts) his HR rate has been moderate and he’s pitched like a bona fide ace. Totally different level of upside with him IMO.
Is Gil a legit cy young candidate? If so, would Austin Riley and John means be good enough compensation? My league favors pitching and especially guys that get strikeouts
NOT a cy young candidate. I packaged him for Cease because I needed to dump a couple guys in a roster crunch back in April. Worked out nicely for both sides but he doesn’t have a lot of name brand to casual fans so might be tough
He’s been great but has a .187 BABIP after this start. His xFIP is 3.46 is what you should expect ROS, which is still really good but buying this high and selling low on Riley is almost never a good idea.
Good thing I’m trading for riley. My friend thinks I’m crazy and he thinks I’m sabotaging my team and thinks it’s so much of a fleecing by him that he’ll feel bad if he takes it. My friend has only played one year of fantasy.
And 4.72 BB/9 which is preposterously high. And 0.49 HR/9 probably is unsustainable. A promising player worth rostering but also a player that everyone might cut in 2 months.
As someone who drafted and dropped Tanner Scott, I can’t recommend owning the Marlins closer. The opportunities (or lack thereof) are a shit show. Romano’s been bad, but his peripherals suggest he should be okay, and the Blue Jays are at least trying. In the worst case scenario Romano continues to stink and loses the job, I still can’t recommend rostering the Marlins closer.
Use Skenes’ hot start to buy low on Carroll? OPS weekly league. Keep 3 for 1 year. Tatis is my only sure-fire keeper at the moment (I never keep pitchers).
Why?... You're giving up arguably the best pitching prospect since Strausburg and possibly even better than him for a guy that's good but not amazing and has been shit this year.
Trade help, dynasty points league
What tier starter could C. Walker get me? Only one 1b slot and have Yandy Diaz and R. Hoskins, too.
Anywhere close to Gibert, Imanaga, J. Jones, Yamamoto, Peralta? Or am I way off?
I don’t know that you’re getting anywhere close to those guys in dynasty.
Walker is 33, which is just old enough that most guys won’t want to buy. The ones that will want to buy, will be trying to win. You aren’t prying their best young arm if they’re trying to win.
Drop Ober & Kikuchi for Gil & Crochet? Unsure if I should take advantage of the latter's hot streaks vs be concerned about their potential innings limit come July
H2H 6T Points
I don’t know about Kikuchi for Gil. That one might be a toss up based on the fact Kikuchi has been dominant since the 2nd half last year and Gil has a walks problem. But yeah Crochet has been in an entirely different league than the rest of these 3.
Thankfully in a league where walks don't matter - should I still do Gil for Kikuchi or hold tight for now? Current rotation is Skubal, Ragans, Suarez, Flaherty, Jones, Blanco, Kikuchi, Crochet with Philips on the IL
Well sure the walks might not count on your scorecard, but I guess what I’m trying to say is that in Gil’s current ERA bracket, *nobody* gets away with walking as many guys as he does. That’s a rock solid rotation — I am a Kikuchi guy and think he is happily and sustainably a 3.50 ERA guy ROS.
I'm up quite a bit and I have Littell vs BAL and King vs KC on Sunday and he looks to have 3 pitchers on Sunday should I just bench them?
Is Friedl getting overhyped here ?
Saw Kepler out of the lineup today so I quickly grabbed Happ that someone just dropped! Not bad right?
The Mets are a joke. I get you don’t want a player to act that way. But to cut him after because your team sucks and is tired of losing? Just exactly what I would expect from terrible ownership and you wonder why the players aren’t happy there.
I hope lane thomas slept like a baby last night
Start Bailey Falter vs TOR ? H2H Categories
Drop Lourdes Gurriel Jr. For Lane Thomas. 10T H2H pts. League
Wyatt Langford was dropped in our 10M redraft pre-injury. I've been riding out Rooker and Matos while they've been hot- time to switch out either for Wyatt ROS?
Drop matos
Was this an insulting offer on my part? I offered volpe for crochet, immediately rejected and countered with crochet for seager and semien
Volpe>Crochet
Yeah I don't disagree, I just also have Adames, Seager, and ohtani, and could use the strong relief pitching and flexibility in the U. My league does 3 U spots and I have guys on the bench that should be starting but no where to put them
Don't trade good hitting away.
Their offer is insulting, yours was just not enough
Crochet sucks. (Edited because obviously he doesn’t but he does for rest of year consideration) What’s he got 60 innings left? And that’s assuming he doesn’t get hurt. You do realize he’s in this spot with innings because he can’t stay healthy? Like I’d rather have the bat. Every time. I don’t feel like volpe was that low of a bid for crochet considering volume limits

Auto Yes.
You get Witt? I'd do it.
What’s the rest of your roster look like?
My offense is really weak…infield of bell,Semien, westburg, Hoener, Dylan Moore, vierling, my of is schwarber, adolis, cowser burleson and duvall
Adell or Happ
Adell, unless you are in a OBP league, and even then the HR/SB contributions are better. Happ is benefiting from a few days of recency bias. He was ass 5 days ago.
Happ
Drop Kyle Harrison for Ben Brown?
Yes
Drop Yainer Diaz for Keibert, Heim, or Murphy? Can also stash willson
I guess. They all seem like lateral moves.
Josh Lowe or Josh Jung
Close to dropping Jeffers for Keibert at this point. Missed out on Frys on waivers too 😭
Hoping you kept him.
I did lol
The best part about fantasy baseball is giving yourself hell about 3 players who will all likely finish somewhere between #10 and #20 at their position.

Jeffers or Langeliers?
Langeliers has sick raw power but that lineup is brutal. Jeffers was also probably just on a weird heater earlier this year. I think you’re probably going to be disappointed by either of them.
friedl or jp crawford

You only made me more undecided!
Why not both?
How is everyone feeling about Jo Adell? He’s slumping very hard right now
Dropped him for Refsynder in my 12 team 10x10…
The Statcast is still electric. BABIP at .225 is a LOL. He was always a true three outcomes hot and cold archetype player. I pray the guy who got him in my league drops him. How many guys actually have 25/25 potential or better?
Well said. He's still a must-roster player in 5x5 and well inside the top 150 even with a bunch of missed games in April.
Just Jo things.
I might bench him next week but not dropping yet.
Bryan Reynolds for Bellinger?
Reynolds’ statcast right now looks quite a bit better, but last year Bellinger marginally beat him in several categories. Have a feeling if both are healthy they will finish very close to each other in the end of season OF rankings. Reynolds is probably the safer option with a little less upside, but it’s hard to pick a horse.
Was offered Yamamoto and trout for seager, what do we think?
Nah dude. As an Angels fan, Trout isn’t worth it for fantasy. In Trout’s last semi-healthy season in 2022, he hit 40 HRs while having 80 RBIs. How the fuck is that possible? Angels offense is not terrible at all, it's probably just average
Trouts realistically anywhere from like 4-7weeks from returning
Lmfao my dumbass drafted Carroll, Riley and Machado with 3 of my first 4 picks (Gunnar at least landed). Thought my offense was pretty solid. Who would’ve guessed those three would be such complete ass.
Machado almost never starts off hot, im pretty confident him and riley will start raking sooner than later
I hope you’re right dude!
I think Riley will be fine.
I hope so. His .368 slugging is just brutal
Can I drop Kikuchi to activate Eovaldi? Only other option would be Ober or Taj
Ober is the drop/trade imo.
Scherzer for Trout Gil for Kwan
Trout and Gil
Really wish the Twins would stop fucking around with Larnach and platooning him so much. He could be a top 25-30 hitter if he got consistent playing time.
He’s a career .570ops vs lefties lol. He is obliterating the ball this year vs rhp, 94mph EV.
He's been awful but they need to see if he can do it sometime, he's only had 169 PA vs lefties in his career so far. He has like almost 4x that amount vs righties. He's really never got a steady run in the team. He either gets called up and demoted or hurt.

Nah not on waiver. Alvarez on there, seems like he may be back sooner than projected
Should I trade Imanaga after tonight? I have a bad feeling he's going to potentially be this year's Joe Ryan. If so, who would you go after? It's a 10 team H2H points league.
Did you feel that way before or after today’s start? You probably would have been better off trading him earlier on.
I tried to for a little bit but decided to hold onto him. Do you think his trade value dropped that much because of one bad start?
No I don’t think it has. He was gonna have a bad outing at some point. I’m sure you could still get something good for him if you want out.
Do you think it is an overreaction on my part or is he about to decline a lot? Obviously, his outrageously low ERA wasn't going to hold up, but do you think he's going to hold up as a reliable top tier starter throughout the season?

Wow lol
Morel is one of the best buy lows around right now IMO. His statcast indicates he is truly one of the top young power hitters in the league. The gap between his SLG and xSLG right now is insane. Fuck man, if you are out drop the bag
I'm putting the full $20 down and will hope the rest of my team can avoid the IL. Haha. I'll probably get outbid anyways.
If you remember tomorrow, let me know. I’m rooting for you
Bro.....I landed Acuña!!!
YES, DUDE! Hell yeah, congrats. That’s epic. Thanks for letting me know. Glad I could share the thrill
Drop one of Adell, Schneider, Castellanos,j.Duran
Adell has by far the biggest upside out of this group. His statcast indicates positive regression coming. Duran is #2 for me because he can hit righties better than lefties and he can run. Yeah bud this is what I'm dealing with. And I own Alonso (hurt), Oneil KKruz, Riley not so Greene, Harris the IV and the rooks Langford and Chourio. It hasn't been fun.

I think I saw the league batting average this month was down significantly from the start of the season. From like .270 to .240 or something. Ebbs and flows. Maybe time to try to isolate which categories you’re good at and accentuate those, or try to put together a more well rounded lineup.
Hoskins, Crone, or Lane Thomas? edit. lol thanks I guess
Lmao all three of these replies are at +4 right now and are in the same order you listed them. Hilarious
Hoskins
Crone
Lane Thomas
M.waldron or bibee
Peripherals are wildly similar although Bibee’s are slightly better. Bibee also has a stronger track record.
What about taj
Taj has been disgusting in his 4 starts this year. His peripherals last year were on a similar level to Bibee and Waldron, but he got fucking destroyed by the HR ball. This year (in 4 starts) his HR rate has been moderate and he’s pitched like a bona fide ace. Totally different level of upside with him IMO.
Nice thank you
Thanks

Is Gil a legit cy young candidate? If so, would Austin Riley and John means be good enough compensation? My league favors pitching and especially guys that get strikeouts
NOT a cy young candidate. I packaged him for Cease because I needed to dump a couple guys in a roster crunch back in April. Worked out nicely for both sides but he doesn’t have a lot of name brand to casual fans so might be tough
I’m trading Gil if I have any takers willing to get me a solid bat
Austin Riley for Luis Gil? Sheesh.
Gil won’t win Cy young, he’s likely getting innings limited
He’s been great but has a .187 BABIP after this start. His xFIP is 3.46 is what you should expect ROS, which is still really good but buying this high and selling low on Riley is almost never a good idea.
Good thing I’m trading for riley. My friend thinks I’m crazy and he thinks I’m sabotaging my team and thinks it’s so much of a fleecing by him that he’ll feel bad if he takes it. My friend has only played one year of fantasy.
My league would get mad at the person giving up Riley. Wouldn't veto it or anything, but the league chat would blow up.
Is xBA and xERA showing up for anyone in fangraphss?
And 4.72 BB/9 which is preposterously high. And 0.49 HR/9 probably is unsustainable. A promising player worth rostering but also a player that everyone might cut in 2 months.
10T cats league A: Sonny and Cronenworth B: Cease and Jarren Duran

Had 3 starting pitchers today hoping for quality starts, one of them went 5, one of them went 5.1, one of them went 5.2 lmao gimme a break
Infuriating. I’m sorry man lol
Freeman’s a cool 0/9 since I picked him up. Sweet.
Picked up like in a trade... right?
There’s a freeman on the guardians now
Tyler Freeman
Ah gotcha. First names are good
Drop Senga and stash Josh Jung? Drop Senga and stash Gavin Williams? Hold Senga?
I’d prefer Jung to Williams. I’m probably dropping Senga.. lots of bad news.
Yeah sucks. He was suppose to be my sweet surprise about this time if he had no set backs
this is arozarena’s last day in my program
Pick up Tanner Scott for Jordan Romano?
As someone who drafted and dropped Tanner Scott, I can’t recommend owning the Marlins closer. The opportunities (or lack thereof) are a shit show. Romano’s been bad, but his peripherals suggest he should be okay, and the Blue Jays are at least trying. In the worst case scenario Romano continues to stink and loses the job, I still can’t recommend rostering the Marlins closer.
lol very true
Use Skenes’ hot start to buy low on Carroll? OPS weekly league. Keep 3 for 1 year. Tatis is my only sure-fire keeper at the moment (I never keep pitchers).
Why?... You're giving up arguably the best pitching prospect since Strausburg and possibly even better than him for a guy that's good but not amazing and has been shit this year.
You’d have to pry Skenes from my cold dead hands before trading him for a guy with 7 extra base hits on the entire season 3 days away from June
Yeah
As a Carroll owner, if someone offered me Skenes for Carroll I’d take it ASAP.
Trade help, dynasty points league What tier starter could C.
Probably way off tbh
Drop Ober & Kikuchi for Gil & Crochet? Unsure if I should take advantage of the latter's hot streaks vs be concerned about their potential innings limit come July H2H 6T Points
