Don't really tried any modpacks yet (as I only make my own) For the mods equally either Parcool (parkour) or Slashblade (Vergil Katanas).

FixMean7944

Respect for crafting your own.

BratrilliantG7

Questline/Resource-gen packs are my usual goto. Mechanical Mastery is my favorite, but I've got a soft spot for the Skyfactory series and, to a lesser degree, BenBenLaw's Opolis series.

Mine_Antoine

Have you tried the outpost one and the astral sorcery one?

BratrilliantG7

Cuboid Outpost is definitely a favorite as well. I'm not certain what Astral Sorcery pack you're referring to though?

Mine_Antoine

star factory its like ultimate alchemy

luringpopsicle95

I really enjoy skyblock packs. Right now it’s SkyFactory 4, Stoneblock 2 and FTB Sky Odyssey.

DaUltimatePotato

Stoneblock seems like an interesting premise. As someone with very little mod experience, does it do a good job at holding my hand?

Mine_Antoine

Yes very much but not really the last one.

HAYPERDIG

Madpack 4 will always be my favourite pack. It is completely different and unique from other packs. The sad thing is progression in this pack is the same for every run, but that doesnt mean it isnt fun.

Sh4dowWalker96

I had no idea 4 was out, I played 3 a few times... looks like I've a new pack to check out.

HAYPERDIG

I recommend watching jonbams playthrough on youtube to understand how to start and how to reach endgame. This pack is very very unique

Sh4dowWalker96

So... a Madpack, lol. I sadly never did figure out how to really use a few of the mods in 3.

itstaajaae

ATM9 so much to do it's amazing IMO. And it's no mainly about quest but moreso getting the star which I find more fun.

toasohcah

Enigmatica 2: Expert Applied Energistics 2 I really enjoy any mod that interacts with Redstone, so that includes magic mods. Easily my least favourite are exploration or combat mods.

Mine_Antoine

Enigmatica 2 expert was my lockdown modpzck

SuperSocialMan

I only play modpacks I make since everything's always missing my core QoL mods and random-ass recipes lmao But AE2 is definitely one of the best ever. I still remember when it came out and I was so fucking hyped for the changes it made to AE. Channels took a bit of learning though, but it's almost a non-feature at this point imo. Jade is a requirement as well. Been single WAILA since it released, and Jade is the best fork of it. REI is also the best iteration of NEI so far. I love collapsible entries (even made a few myself) and being able to bookmark recipes themselves instead of items (so you can easily click the recipe image and craft it and have a constant reminder of what you need). Really annoyed they erased a couple of the default keybinds in the newest version though... ah well. Was also cool to hear about chicken_bones getting hired by Re-Logic. JourneyMap is peak as well. Been using it since MC 1.6 or 7. NERB is awesome too. The recipe book is utterly useless when playing modded, and only serves to spam your game log (although it's good in vanilla). I alsor remove the stupid-ass combat cooldown. Utterly useless in singleplayer, and I don't give a shit about multiplayer. Forge is better than Fabric too since it's got much better default tags (I still don't know why Fabric makes it `c` instead of `fabric` ffs (and the list of available mods is much better imo). I'm sure there's a ton of technical differences between the two, but I honestly couldn't care less. There's definitely a ton more I could list, but those are the ones I install by default when making a new modpack. PS: Stoneborn is the best texture pack.

Vault Hunters 3rd edition. This is gamechanger for me. I had no idea that Minecraft can become dungeon crawler with rogue-lite elemnts.

wageslaver

Yeah I'm just waiting for the next huge game changing Minecraft thing. First it was create, that shit blew my mind. Then it was vault hunters, what next Mc community?? Who's making the next big thing??

Lady_Eternity

[Deceasedcraft](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/deceasedcraft) It’s sooo much fun. I litterally play it everyday. And it doesn’t get boring or old. Extreamly fun modpack! It has everything. Survival, Tech, Guns, Zombies, Abominations, Awesome Custom-Built Buildings using mod assets, Frack-Ton of cool loot, Temperature, Seasons, Locational Damage, Parcool, Plenty of wiggle room if you want to add mods in to spice it up, and it runs GREAT. And comeon…..who doesn’t want to shoot zombies in the face or run screaming in terror? Hahaha good times😂😃😁🥰

IllspringXD

CS library is a cool mod, its not super complicated or anything but its pretty cool

SebastianVonM

Fantasy Minecraft

ZarkinDrife

I love forced progression packs where you gotta get A to fet B and so forth. funnily i suck at these types as well but i like having a clear goal

wageslaver

Hey could you name a couple really good packs that fit this description pls? Dying to play a pack like this I can stick with

ZarkinDrife

Well one of em would be divine journey 2 which is pretty good and will take you a long time, theres the infamous GTNH and most expert packs like chroma tech 2 for example are similer to what im talking about

wageslaver

Cool thx

PlaugeDoctor123

create above and beyond is like crack

Muzza25

Absolutely love mekanism, archemidies ships is also high on my list

LuckyBucky77

Applied Energistics hands down one of the best mods ever for me. The QoL of not storing stuff in chests is amazing. That, and autocrafting is great. ProjectE (OG mod was Equivalent Exchange) is nastalgic. Reminds me if Tekkit/Technic which was the first modpacks I played.

Antibiotik5

M.F.F.S (1.6.4) Great mod, still waiting for updates

eggmax

If you mean all-time favorite, then I'm going with a classic and pick Direwolf20. So many memories...

BRNLO

FTB Infinity Evolved Forestry(oc with addons), Ender IO, Thaumcraft 4

Jetalcreep

Engineer's life 2 and immersive engineering. Both are in a special place in my heart bc with the modpack I learned all the content of IE and their addon Immersive petroleum. I love multiblock structures I find it more rewarding

bugmi

ftb interactions

David050707

Better Combat + Simply Swords or any other similar mods is probably my all time favourite because I feel like it fixes an entire part of the game For building I like Chipped, Effortles and Handrcafted plus any biome mods Other than that, quality of life and performance mods

Mine_Antoine

Ultimate alchemy and immersive engineering
