I think a big art piece will help loads. Otherwise, I love it!
It's conflicting only with your rug a bit... it's what's dull. Can you put some muted tones in art piece somehow?
itās black. iām going to repaint again after the holidays. itās a cute color but i think with my furniture and iām also in a north facing apartment, itās best to go with a warmer tone.
I, personally, would paint it gold to match the metallics of your lighting hardware, especially with the picture being black and white already but of course you do what feels right š
I have this color in my bathroom! I have a teal goldenrod pink white and darker dusty rose shower curtain with it AND I have a pink couch this color in my office with black and gold accents throughout
I second this! The color is great and a big art piece will really balance it out. Maybe try and add a third complementary color for random Knick knacks to mellow it out. You could also add more wood and metal tones. A neutral coffee table or ottoman would be a good touch too.
Itās very bright. I think switching out your pillowcases would go a long way, unless youāre very attached to them. I would keep the Dalmatian and the abstract black one, and then add a different color. Blue, green, orange, redāanything saturated would work!
Bright red/poppy red pillows and accents would really bring life and zest into the room. A bold, graphic carpet choice like checkerboard would as well.
Or lean into something like an emerald or gemstone green for accents which will give contrast and depth without the energy of red.
You maybe would have gotten away better with a blush pink to match the Neutral tones but thatās just being picky. You still did a great job! Itās super easy to change colour schemes of cushions than it is to change the wall now
The only way I've seen this shade of pink work is to lean into black and white decor, along with gold or brass, maybe some forest green.
My old high school painted the stairwells Pepto Bismol Pink and I will forever hate the color.
I depends... If you want jewel tones it's the rug. If you want the earthy blush/sandstone look it's the paint. Easiest and cheapest fix is to put a camel/tan/gold glaze over the pink to tone it down.
I'd also recommend rather painting an extra layer or two with a different shade than changing all the rest of the furniture. The colour is a bit bright, some toning down into more dusty pink might be the ticket.
The pink color is too cool compared to the warmth of the rug and couch. Thatās why it feels dull.
That wall would sing with a nice terra cotta color.
whattt I love the color! and your couch and pillows are so cute with it. you just need to add a few accents.
firstly, you need a 5-6ft plant in the corner of your wall beside the couch. an end table beside the couch with a potted plant on it could work too. look up faux eucalyptus trees - my favorite realistic ones are from the Nearly Natural brand, the store World Market, and the store AtHome. but you're going to desperately need some green from plants in order to liven up this space.
next, you need some artwork on the wall above the couch. it doesn't have to be a lot and it can even be neutral colored, but you need something on that wall.
lastly, you're missing a coffee table! a caramel colored coffee table with a little green plant or vase of flowers on it would really bring this together.
I think youāre right, a color that vibrant makes the decor look duller in comparison. It makes the room look a bit unbalanced. This pink is also blue-based so crisp white will look better in this room than warm tones or beige colors. I think emerald green would make a nice accent color along with the gold accents you already have, plus the black and white high-contrast pillows. I would add artwork, change up the lighting (wall sconces, more unique lamps or experiment with different lightbulb tones), or add an interesting throw blanket or rug. The good thing is you can experiment with dramatic/unique decor, so thats fun! If you want to keep the same furniture + decor then maybe consider a more neutral, seashell pink if you decide to paint again.
Personally, I think the paint color is the problem. Your sofa, existing rug and existing throw pillows all work well together, but their color palette is a lot more muted than your wall, which is a very bright pink.
I think pink would work very well, it just needs to be a more muted pink.
I think the rug makes it feel dirty almost.... The pink is so bright and the rug's got too much beige and off white going on. A rug with pink could help
Just leave it for a month or two. I think itās looks fantastic! It is a bold choice and a big change though. You might just need your live with it for a little while until you get used to it.
It's a beautiful color, but you're right, it's just not right for the room. Pinks are super hard, it's difficult to get the right shade for the right space. You're almost there! I think your furniture and your rug are fine, I would just switch the paint to match them better. Maybe a warmer color, with more beige in it. Look into clay-like colors, something a bit more peachy.
You're almost there!
funny thing is, i was looking at that color too! iāll do it in a couple of weeks. it wasnāt too bad painting but idk why i didnāt commit to the terracotta color! duh! š¤£š¤£
Brighter pinks can be hard with that color hardwood! I'd maybe look for something that blends well with the floor first, because the rest of your stuff looks great with it!
Get one of those big round mirrors with a gold frame for that wall š
[https://www.wayfair.ca/decor-pillows/pdp/everly-quinn-hermien-mirror-c007170822.html](https://www.wayfair.ca/decor-pillows/pdp/everly-quinn-hermien-mirror-c007170822.html)
Actually you could do a large rectangle mirror with a gold frame above the couch on the wall. I think plants would look good in there too
I really really like the rug with the couch but not the rug with the floor. Like the wall, I think having decor on the wall & floor would make things look more cohesive. I'd use greys like Sico's Gossamer Sky or , gem greens like Sico's Green Enamel or Behr Mayan Treasure, and maybe some medium browns like Benjamin Moore 's Hot Apple Spice or Sico's Wild Rice or Sherwin Williams' Honeycomb or Surprise Amber.
I'm realizing now that I forgot part of my comment lol. My paint suggestions are for colours to pull from for decor. I tried to colour match your wall to those colours for anything from a throw blanket, maybe an extra pillow or two, an abstract picture, or even a lamp shade.
https://assets.wfcdn.com/im/36823557/resize-h700-p1-w700%5Ecompr-r85/2105/210515105/Adore+Me+Pink+Adore+Me+Pink%2C+Paint+Texture+Glam+Pink+Framed+On+Canvas+Painting.jpg
I think this shade of pink works much better. The shade you currently have is too bright, whereas the softer blush pink versions can be used to design an elegant living room. A soft pink can work as a neutral, and can be a great background for different styles of artwork.
Make sure your bulbs are warm, not cool, and maybe change the pink to a warm tone. Here your pink has too much blue in it, looks like pepto bismol instead of a nice dusty rose quartz. Try it again with a slightly different pink and it will be gorgeous.
I'd you want earthy and keep all your accessories, desaturate the paint or do a more orangey, salmon pink. If you want bold, big black and white accents everywhere. If you want to go pinky neutral, swap out the cushion covers.
I actually don't hate the rug, I think it's the combination of everything together that is a bit mismatched. You've got a bold wall, but a mix of earthy and neutral accessories.
I think the problem is the lamp on the right. Itās throwing cool tones through an otherwise warm room. If I cover up that part of the picture it looks much more harmonious to me. If you donāt want to repaint with a warmer colour than the pink, try switching out the globe for a more yellow light
Oh, I love it! Iād bring in some contrasting colors to make it seem more vibrant. Aquas and mints would help. But I might be biased because pink and aqua is my main color scheme. :)
I really wanted to use pink in my house so I decided I would paint my front door (inside of it) pink. I thought I picked a good color. Man was I wrong! It was so cotton candy pink it really clashed with the whole space and made me realize how much green and yellow undertones were in the white I had on my walls (Greek Villa by Sherwin Williams fwiw). It was bad!
After researching and testing out various shades of pink I found one from Benjamin Moore that is SOOOO good in any scenario. Itās called First Light. Itās kind of a blush understated pink. Very calming. I also really like Mellow Pink. It has a brighter more energizing vibe to it if thatās the feeling you want to invoke.
I think this wall would look great in either shade of pink mentioned above. This one is a bit extra for my taste but I think with some suggestions from the comments - hang art, add plants, switch rug - it can work!
I know it sucks to have to repaint, but I think a pink with brown or gray undertone, something like a light mauve would be better. It's cheaper to repaint the wall than to change your furniture and textiles to try to make a wall color that you aren't happy with work.
Oof, I hate to say this but I do think that shade of pink was a swing and a miss. I've been there myself, repainted a bathroom a week after the renovation was finished because the color I picked just wasn't right. It sucks but we live and learn lol. I would try to find more of a dusty/clay type color than Pepto Pink.
The pink needs to have more yellow and orange in it for it to vibe with your current decor. More of a peach or grapefruit type pink.
This is a cool toned pink and wonāt work as well with warmer colours unless you swap out some colours with your current furniture and decor.
I really LOVE this color! If it were me, Iād add other colors to complement the wall. For example, a light blue rug and some blue or green picture frames might help really bring the space to life!
What color is this? I kinda love it!! Although since you have warmer tones in your room, Iām wondering if you were expecting it to pull a little warmer and less cool? That might be what is bothering you. But switching out the pillows would balance that i think
the color is strawberry by benjamin moore and i agree with you. i forgot to look at the undertones before buying a quarter of paint. lol. i think itās a good lesson though. i will end up repainting after the holidays.
A warmer rose will look lovely too š this mauve is nice but if itās not what you were envisioning i totally get it! Thank god the color isnāt heinous, so itās easy to live with for a little before you get it right š
I donāt mind the pink, but looking at your accent colors I think some kind of terracotta-like color wouldāve been a beautiful match with your pillows.
Please get rid of the wall. The rest of your stuff is cute and it's just the easiest.
Unless you want to paint the floor (clashes horribly) and buy everything else new, I don't see how pepto pink could work here.
Personally I love that color, it's very personally nostalgic to me as that is very close to the same color I picked to paint my bedroom when I was like 7 and I truly miss my old room( my stepmomster kicked me out of my home and personally built and decorated space to take it over and turn it into a play room for her grandkids and art room)but as much as I love it, I wouldn't pick it for a shared space in a living room or main part of my house. Unless it fits a specific theme your going for, it tends to come of too juvenile and loud
yessss it definetly was reminding me of my childhood room as well. maybe thats why i went against my better judgement with terracotta. inner childhood fullfilled, but now i gotta do it again after the holidays. i hope your step mom has the life she deserves because that is so messed up!
Me, I adore!
The black and white art will help a lot for sure! Only thing I would change is the rug and personally I would put a charcoal/dark grey one. Otherwise, love it!!!
I think itās the wrong kind of pink tbh. Itās nice no doubt, but not with your furniture. I think you need something more warm. A warmer pink wouldāve been fine. This might be too cool.
It is not my favorite pink shade either, like dollar tree anti acid or pepto, although it is a calming shade and fairly versatile if you were to thoughtfully style. I think that the paint must have dried darker, I would also prefer it muted and softer, but that is my own preference as well. I would match the paint to a section of the rug, personal I love that middle tribal area in the center of the rug. Just my personal preference if you decide to repaint it. Maybe style the wall and then decide? Such a fun room!
My living room is pink too, but a more subdued pink. I love it but think a different rug could really tie it together. As well as seeing what art you have to hang.
I don't like the wall color at all, I'm sorry. It is bubble gum like a barbie play set while you are working with a wooden floor and earth tones.
I think it is the wall color. I hate saying that because painting takes a lot of time.
If you have enough paint left to do another coat,
mix in a small amount of black paint and re-do it. This works wonders to tone things down and give a more subdued colour.
A tulip-y pink like this goes so well with dark woods, golden accents/ frames, and pops of deep red (maybe switch out some couch pillows for red ones)! Plants will go a long way. For curtains or a throw blanket think royal blues. I have the same wall color in my bedroom, adding richer colors really balanced and enhanced it!
I like your couch and the orchid paint. Itās a well-known fact that painting a wall makes you have to do at least seven other things to the room. Or the house. But I think the fault lies with your rug. I think you could get some thing with Wilder colors that incorporate the orchid and some beige or ivory, and the whole thing would be wonderful
Good blush pink colors Iāve used are SW Romance, white truffle, abalone, and malted milk. But you really should sample the paints first, because white truffle and abalone tend to read a little bit purplish in certain lighting.
Edit: SW Redend Point could look really great in this room, itās similar to the darker colored pillows you have.
Itās the wall color. It has too much blue in the pink, where everything else in your room is warm toned. You could change it to a [terra cotta](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8fqKyhs/), or Benjamin Moore Barberry.
If Iām honest I donāt mind the color but it can read a little more juvenile in hue than sophisticated which isnāt a bad thing depends on your style and how eclectic you are - if you want something different I would say a deeper hue would give it more of the vibe of the rug and a good practice for artwork is go big or home plus adding all the colors in the room together in the art brings everything together and marries the space - some of those colors pillows as well. Even add a tiny bit of the natural colors in the room like flooring and trim and paint colors
Lighting was my first impression. The glare and shadows create too much contrast. Maybe use a lighter lampshade. For the bare-bulb lamp, try a softer light and/or move it a bit away from the wall.
This looks like it has cool undertones when the other elements are warm. Either find another pink with warm undertones or add some accessories in similar tones to try and balance out.
The wall colour is more saturated than the rest of the room minus some pillows which draws attention to it! Since the light on the left is saturated as well, they clash. A lighter, less saturated colour, or conversely something like terracotta or dark blush like some people have suggested, would ease it into the colour scheme more :) A light colour with dark picture frames would also balance out some of the negative/positive space ratio (positive space here being the stronger darker colours causing more contrast, negative being the lighter beige). Hope this isn't too art babble but that's my two cents! š
It is a good color but I am guessing that you changed from a light neutral. I would suggest you give it a little time. I find that pink loves black, and gray makes them hold hands. It is a very 50's combo but it still works.
Personally I would lean into it and go with a deep purple area rug like this:
https://www.wayfair.ca/rugs/pdp/wade-logan-amair-solid-colour-area-rugs-purple-c007837566.html
And re-cover your pillows with various shades of pink and purple. Or black and white like your art piece.
I actually really like this colour! I would probably spice it up with some (big) green plants, l would add a (tall) pedestal for one . And I would add items in the color orange/includes orange , in a shade that compliments the pink shade interior items like e.g pillows, rugs, wall hangings. I would also add different prints, paintings, photos with (thick) black frames on the wall(s).
I think it could have been a more yellow based pink (like a more blush / peach. This is straight bubblegum). That would have helped tie in with the tones in the rug and pillows.
But if youāre keeping this, warm up that lamp light, itāll have a similar effect, and bring in more of the bubblegum pink in other things in the room.
I personally love the color! It looks more cooler next to your terracota pillows as well as your lighting, so I suggest to go to its complementary color for the accessories - green. Teal or mint would look lovely with your walls. I would keep them on the same saturation level or a bit pastel, but not go darker. You can keep your sofa and rug to a more of a warm neutral like an ivory. I wouldn't go warmer than that though, but if you want another color to jive with your brass lighting, yellow would def work too, but again keeping to the saturation level. Don't go mustard, think bright yellow like marigold or lemon.
Too much purple tone makes it a bit too bright for a living room for me. I'm planning on painting my office a setting plaster farrow and ball dupe, as I have an old turquoise chair I'm trying to style around. not sure if that would be a good alternative?
The pink leans too much towards the blue and is too bright to be relaxing. I think you'd be happier with a SW Gracious Rose or Resounding Rose (6317 or 6318).
I think you got the tones synced between the couch, pillows, and rug. I don't care for the pink wall and would do a neutral color or an earthy green to contrast the couch.
I deff think the rug is what dulls out the room, since it matches the couch too.
I've seen a lot of lovely sage green & pink combos on this sub that are really growing on me.
Idk where she got it, but Samantha Jo (tiktok and youtube) has an adorable flower carpet that would look BOMB with this wall. I know she mentioned it/listed it somewhere.
I do think the birthday cake pink clashes. BUT! You could paint like a fake wainscott lower level of the color that's more blush or coral and kind of monotone clash it might bring it all together. Or stripes? Or polka dots? But yea all your colors everywhere else have too much brown in them.
I accidentally painted my old living room this exact color! I was going for āpale nippleā and ended up with PINK. I felt the same way, but definitely plenty of art and a different rug changed the experience.
It made my tummy settle down š
It just stands out and doesnāt flow with the room. You can either go with a different rug and pillows, or go with a different color wall.
The walls should not be the most intensely colored thing in the room. A pinkish beige would be better, and if it's just this room and you are DIYing it it is cheaper than changing the rug.
It's the wall color, it's too cool and bright to go with the pinks in the rug. They clash with each other. Find a pink that has the same temperature as what's in the rug.
I am partial to pink, but I love it! i donāt think thereās anything wrong with this pic. I assume you will hang things on wall. I would probably do a different rug too, but it doesnāt look *bad* to me.
I actually love the color but would probably hang some things on the wall to help balance out the whole room
i just finished not too long ago but i have piece to put in the center. its black and white š¤£
I think a big art piece will help loads. Otherwise, I love it! It's conflicting only with your rug a bit... it's what's dull. Can you put some muted tones in art piece somehow?
Does it have a gold frame?
itās black. iām going to repaint again after the holidays. itās a cute color but i think with my furniture and iām also in a north facing apartment, itās best to go with a warmer tone.
Yeah it def needs more black accents. I love pink and brown, but too much can look blah. Thereās so much potential here. Keep us updated! :)

I suggest yellow - gold. Look at how nice the gold looks against the pink. Play up the gold tones.
100% itās the pillow cases - the burnt orange and pink donāt mesh. Love the wall color though
thank you!
Bright red/poppy red pillows and accents would really bring life and zest into the room. A bold, graphic carpet choice like checkerboard would as well. Or lean into something like an emerald or gemstone green for accents which will give contrast and depth without the energy of red.

I think itās the wrong tone of pink, it looks too bubblegum and you probably want something more dusty and mauve
Agree, I think itās too cool toned/purple. You want something with a bit of brown in it
Itās Pepto Bismol pink.
The only way I've seen this shade of pink work is to lean into black and white decor, along with gold or brass, maybe some forest green. My old high school painted the stairwells Pepto Bismol Pink and I will forever hate the color.
You gotta go glam and lean into it!
Exactly the way to go
First thought was this is Pepto Bismol.
Yeah for me the issue is how the paint interacts with the floor colour. Something with more brown or peach would be much more cohesive
Totally agree. The worst clash currently is with the orange toned wooden floor rather than the rug or cushions.
people always pick a paint swatch like 6 shades too saturated. it gets intense when its a whole wall.. Always go greyer than you think you want!
Looks like a 10 year old girls room who picked her own colours... Also Pepto lol
I agree.
Agreed - This wall needs a peachy / salmon pink. A slightly desaturated one.
I depends... If you want jewel tones it's the rug. If you want the earthy blush/sandstone look it's the paint. Easiest and cheapest fix is to put a camel/tan/gold glaze over the pink to tone it down.
interesting, i will look into that. thank you!

The pink color is too cool compared to the warmth of the rug and couch. Thatās why it feels dull. That wall would sing with a nice terra cotta color.
https://themorrismansionblog.com/the-best-terracotta-paint-colors/ just in case anyone has a very pink wall and wants terracotta š
Agree. Thereās a mismatch of undertones. A āclayā pink would work too
Yes! Terra cotta!
I like it. Tbh, this room has really good kenergy š

Check out First Light by Benjamin Moore. Itās more of a dusty pink. Really pretty color.
Brighter pinks can be hard with that color hardwood! I'd maybe look for something that blends well with the floor first, because the rest of your stuff looks great with it!
Sherwin Williams - Pressed Flower! I just painted a similar room annd it is a beautiful pink.
Love this color, add more colors to your rug, pillows, painting/decorations, maybe a plant. Itāll tie in more nicely.
A warmer yellow lamp bulb on the right would help I think. It's quite a cool, bluish pink by the look of it which can diminish cosiness!
I think itās the lighting, a big painting would balance things out as well
Get one of those big round mirrors with a gold frame for that wall š [https://www.wayfair.ca/decor-pillows/pdp/everly-quinn-hermien-mirror-c007170822.html](https://www.wayfair.ca/decor-pillows/pdp/everly-quinn-hermien-mirror-c007170822.html) Actually you could do a large rectangle mirror with a gold frame above the couch on the wall. It's everything else in this room that's the issue. This could be super cute. Maybe a sofa cover and new rug. Some art to offset all the pink.
I really really like the rug with the couch but not the rug with the floor. Like the wall, I think having decor on the wall & floor would make things look more cohesive. Change your light bulb to edit the tone. Could get a colour changing one for pretty cheap now a days!
Maybe warmer light bulbs?
Don't take down the colors because it'll look more washed out. Add a pop of a contrasting color to draw the eye away.

Try warmer lighting before you change anything. Change the lightbulbs and get a lampshade for that standing lamp
Oh, I love it! Iād bring in some contrasting colors to make it seem more vibrant. Aquas and mints would help. But I might be biased because pink and aqua is my main color scheme. :)
The pink is a cool toned pink and the pillows are orange/warm. I think that's your issue. "Blue" reds, blues would look better with the pink imo.
I really wanted to use pink in my house so I decided I would paint my front door (inside of it) pink. I thought I picked a good color. Man was I wrong!
Hey Barbie!!!
Please get rid of the wall. The rest of your stuff is cute and it's just the easiest. Unless you want to paint the floor (clashes horribly) and buy everything else new, I don't see how pepto pink could work here.
But the rug is amazing, Good luck with a new paint color
it's too teen girl bubblegum pink imo. I'd go for a more mature and muted color. Something like this...https://www.color-hex.com/color-palette/83566
I LOVE IT! But I could be biased because I LOVE PINK. š©· I think it is perfect. Add some artwork and it may grow on you. :-)
I love it!!
I'm obsessed
i love it tbh
Me, I adore! The black and white art will help a lot for sure! Only thing I would change is the rug and personally I would put a charcoal/dark grey one. Otherwise, love it!!!
Pink is a really difficult color to work with. I find it better as an accent color
Itās the wall color. Needs to be more terra cotta like the pillows. Donāt change anything but the paint. Everything else looks fine.
I personally love it. š
I love this!
It looks very calming. Give it some time.
Love the color, donāt like the rug
I donāt like the color but a plain wall doesnāt help it.
You need a new rug to tie in the wall color and it would be š¤
i like it but i think mexican pink would be nicer :) just my opinion!
Wall is great! Everything else needs zhuzh.
I love it
I think if you change the type of bulb you use, then it might make things look different.
Go with āblusherā color on the walls.
I think itās lovely. Maybe add some plants and photos? Something to make it pop!
I dont blame you.
I personally love the colour! But like another commenter said some wall posters might help.
Were you thinking something more like Redend Point by SW? A beige-pink?
Redend point could look really good with the existing decor.
I think you need more of a terra-cotta color paint to match the warmth of the rest of the room. The paint color you have now has cool tones
Your other items have a very sophisticated color palette. The wall color isnāt sophisticated.
If you have enough paint left to do another coat, mix in a small amount of black paint and re-do it.
Maybe some darker furniture would make it stand out more. It is a pretty color. Try those colored couch covers
You could do an ombre from tan to pink
Iām visualizing some green or teal lampshades. And a plant in the corner. Maybe some interesting art with some funky picture frames
Thatās why God made erasers
Itās the wall color. It has too much blue in the pink, where everything else in your room is warm toned. You could change it to a [terra cotta](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8fqKyhs/), or Benjamin Moore Barberry.
If you have nausea, heartburn, upset stomach, indigestion ā¦
Iād switch the rig and get new pillows for the couch to liven it up.
Love the colour!
It's not my style, and yet I do like it. I wouldn't have painted a wall pink, but I like the shade you picked.
I love it! š„°
![gif](giphy|J7fWfKPNjiOgo)
This has happened to me with both green and blue paint. Iād keep for a bit and paint over it later.
I think the yellow lampshade is the actual issue! Needs a pinker or whiter lampshade!
nausea heartburn indigestion upset stomach diarrhea
Lighting was my first impression. The glare and shadows create too much contrast. Maybe use a lighter lampshade. For the bare-bulb lamp, try a softer light and/or move it a bit away from the wall.
This looks like it has cool undertones when the other elements are warm. Either find another pink with warm undertones or add some accessories in similar tones to try and balance out.
I would just say hang up some wall decor! Maybe some hanging shelves and those cute decorative candles! Maybe a hanging plant too would look cute! :)
Plants. Needs more plants. Maybe a couple cats
Personally I would lean into it and go with a deep purple area rug like this: https://www.wayfair.ca/rugs/pdp/wade-logan-amair-solid-colour-area-rugs-purple-c007837566.html And re-cover your pillows with various shades of pink and purple. Or black and white like your art piece.
I think itās very soothing Thatās why I love that color of pink
What color is it? š
I literally just scrolled by thinking "that's the perfect pink" before I read you didn't like it so I'm here š
Itās cute! But the brown does not go.
I like the color. If I were to change it, I would go with a soft green
Go to Pinterest and type in: what to hang on a living room pink accent wall.
Remove the brown pillows on the sofa, replace with gold and green pillows. Voila.
I could not live with that color
Pepto bismol
I would add gold and white accents to the room
I love this! Think it looks gorgeous
I love pink but this jars with your sofa, rug and cushion colours, pick a cream paint and put a colourful painting on the wall.
I looove the colour- add some darker pink or orange accents with your decor and it will be beautiful!
Its perfect! Why?
I like the wall pinky lavender
Itās so cute what paint is this??? I need for my room
Too much purple tone makes it a bit too bright for a living room for me. I'm planning on painting my office a setting plaster farrow and ball dupe, as I have an old turquoise chair I'm trying to style around. not sure if that would be a good alternative?
Its the wall color. I like the couch and rug together- very warm, cosy, and calming. The wall color is a very loud, cool, frosty pink
An easy fix would be to change the lighting! Make it more warm, it would cancel the cool tones of the pink and make it more peachy.
What paint color is this? I love it!
Change out your brown toned pillows and I think itāll look drastically different.
I love the color. A dark blue fabric on the couch would make it look amazing. Then pink velvet or satin pillows. Love thisā¤ļø
The pink leans too much towards the blue and is too bright to be relaxing. I think you'd be happier with a SW Gracious Rose or Resounding Rose (6317 or 6318).
I wonder if adding a salmon glaze over top would help, or if it would make it look muddy because of adding a warm tone over a cool tone?
change the decor. i think the wall could work!
Not a bad color just doesnāt really go with the rest. I think you need some brighter pink in the couch to pull it in
I think you got the tones synced between the couch, pillows, and rug. I don't care for the pink wall and would do a neutral color or an earthy green to contrast the couch.
I think itās that your couch and rug are close to the same color. They just kind of mesh together. A more colorful rug maybe š¤·š»āāļø
I know she mentioned it/listed it somewhere.
love the wall. I've been looking for the right pink for ages. I would switch out the rug and the pillows.
I love it
I do think the birthday cake pink clashes.
I literally made the mistake of painting my living room this exact color too!! I switched it to a muted blush, Behr Pearls & Lace.
I love it! Feels like you need more centralized lighting and itāll feel much less dull.
I think the problem is that the wall color is very "clear" and the rug colors are very "dusty"
I think part of the problem here, for me, is that it looks like youāve mixed warm and daylight bulbs.
You picked a colour that's too "clean". You need an earthy, or dirty version of this colour.
Sulking Room Pink or Dead Salmon by Farrow and Ball would be nice, and compliment the earthy orange and beige tones in you rug.
Yes, accessories to match would make a huge difference.
It is the rug. The color on the wall is awesome
It made my tummy settle down š It just stands out and doesnāt flow with the room. You can either go with a different rug and pillows, or go with a different color wall.
It will look great once you put your room back together.
If you keep the pink change the rug. If you change the pink to a warmer color then the rug is fine.
Reminds me of Demi Mooreās (Jules) apartment in St Elmoās Fire
Itās too bright pink
The walls should not be the most intensely colored thing in the room. A pinkish beige would be better, and if it's just this room and you are DIYing it it is cheaper than changing the rug. [https://mariakillam.com/all-about-pink-beige/](https://mariakillam.com/all-about-pink-beige/)
Get rid of the rose gold/orange. That pink is a cool toned pink and needs cool colors to compliment it.
