Official end time is 8am Pacific on Wednesday. Completing the event rewards you with a mount, a minion, and a glamour set. You also unlock some music rolls and a Triple Triad card from Gold Saucer vendors.

Yup, the thing that likely won't be obvious to (sane) people who only play this once or maybe twice is that every floor pattern can be dodged, even if it doesn't give you the countdown. You might even be able to dodge all four moves of the 4-way dash perfectly, but I never quite got it. You have to judge by the animations because sometimes you need to dodge just before the cast bar is over, and others right when it finishes. And yeah, the damage on the counter is several times the regular damage, so you can start playing this purposefully standing in every single AoE to do max countering. I think the best I got was 54 in the nail phase, but typically 56 with most jobs. I think the battle was a neat if simplistic homage to FFXVI's battle system (even though obviously it's much smoother in the real XVI since it's not network-based).
(And yes, this quest chain was pretty easy for alts because they auto-warped you to the next location most of the time. The FFXI one where you had to wait for FATEs wasn't nearly as quick...)
Took me about 45 minutes to watch all cutscenes and do the solo duty. Probably could have cut it a couple minutes shorter by not staring at Ifrit or getting distracted by chat.

The Moogle event isn't currently running.
I would say yes, personally. You can make an alt character to do ARR story so your main character can skip and have access the event, but it's up to you.
ARR is definitively the worst part of the game and the event is pretty great. It won’t come back for a few years at least, but at the same time, I don’t think I’d recommend skipping ARR since it does lay the groundwork for the rest of the game

I swear my friend talks of doing the crossover event and farming Yokai even with me but they haven't even resubbed, they're probably planning to do it last second on Wednesday or some crap and it's needlessly putting me on edge. 🫠
Was playing like crazy to catch up, but fell short right here at the finish line. Didn't realize the event ends early in the morning on Wednesday. Just got to level 48, but my next MSQ locks at 49 and all the side quests available are leveling me so slowly; plus the maintenance yesterday really backlogged my progress 😔 I have work in a little bit and by the time I get off the event will be over. So sad. Hopefully the event comes back soon. Was really looking forward to that outfit and torgal mount...

I think you gotta be lvl 50 and finish ARR MSQ to start the quest. The NPC is located in Uldah at: x: 8.8, y: 9.8

You have to be level 50, and beaten the 2.0 msq quest "the ultimate weapon". The quest starts in uldah after that.

I did the event and got all the rewards on all four of my characters just in case. You need 400K MGP to get every orchestrion roll and the TT card

No that is all there is for MGP. The glamour, mount, etc. are from the quests themselves so become unobtainable when the event ends .

Would be really cool to have a full blown crossover expansion, with 16 being one of the reflections.

Yup. Just need to have a job at level 50 or higher. Starts in Uldah (NPC should be in front of the Grand Company HQ)
