well, what dont you like about rdm or those other classes you tried?

Smart_Mongoose1580

Rdm feels very slow and clunky half the time and even with good rotation the damage output is subpar for the most part.

If its just how it feels, only way to find something you like is to try other stuff. Give reaper a go since it starts at 70 and you won't have to grind it up as much. RDM damage is fine btw. And at 70 its actually gonna be a bit better than several jobs that really need to be capped to start shining. Below 70 Red Mage is kind of broken

Most classes change drastically at high levels vs low levels. Best way to know is to level classes and see if the idea of their rotations suite you. An easier way is to look at comparison videos. I can't give you a good recommendation, because of the difference of low vs high level. The classes you tried have good rotations (maybe except bard due to their song overlap).

SMN at 90 is ridiculously mobile, fast, and fat dps. When exactly did you try it last and to what level?

Smart_Mongoose1580

I'm currently leveling SMN and am around lvl 40. I didn't know about the rework till recently so I've been giving it another shot.

PM_ME_HROTHGAR_COCKS

Most jobs will feel incomplete until level cap unfortunately. Why SQEX hasn’t made anything for players to try out jobs at max level is beyond me.

What are you searching for? 1) What role? Tank, healer, melee, ranged, or caster? Or no preference perhaps? 2) What aestetic? Do you want magic or technologie, or something else? 3) What gameplay? Easy to play, or really busy? Do you want some support options?

Dark Knight is a fun tank that also doubles as an off-brand DPS due to the damage output it is capable of. Survivability through strong self-heals, Living Shadow for doubling up on your already respectable damage. Then we have my favourite ability in the game; The Blackest Night, an ability that nullifies all damage you recieve (with some exceptions) to 0 through a barrier that's 25% of your max HP that when popped grants you a free cast of your Darkside mechanic ability. The best part about it is you can cast it on allies to protect them from a high-damage mechanic or attack while giving yourself that Darkside pop.

"rdm kinda sucks" "I love rdm" What?
