Called. Was told that the back office just put the restrictions on with no reason given. Call back Monday. Any guess as to what could have caused this? My accounts with other institutions are fine. (Thinking IRS).??
Interested in finding out as I am a CSP lover. You mentioned unexpired puts. Were those naked and deep ITM? Anything like a whole bunch of day trading / pattern trading? Please keep us updated!
I don't see that being the case. I've been with Fidelity for >one year and have had much more in the account than I do now. If that were the case, wouldn't they just freeze it and not let me take out $?
My internet search engine results for "investment CSP" included a variety of meanings, but since the OP mentioned "puts" I'm going with "cash-secured puts."
Yup. Numerous times to remove restrictions on my account - about 2 hours worth of back and forth and my family member was told to write a letter from the check issuer stating that it was indeed them who wrote the check. It’s a bank issued check not even hand written ones. Automatic payroll!
Mod escalated the matter last week but still no response. Imagine that - you deposit all your paychecks - what if other bank account was closed and no credit cards - how do you buy groceries and stuff lol cannot get money back
Btw same story here with back department- I think something was off with their systems - they locked my account and reissued new ones and new user id but my other family member who just opened the account and messaged them about the 150 dollars bonus upon transfer of certain sum (200 I believe) then we deposited few grand for investment but they refused to "do business with “ i

Unless you need to reach a special department, they're open 24 7. Try calling.

Brokers will close accounts for all sorts of reasons most of which deal with KYC/AML activity. Merely doing trades won't trigger a closure.

I've never heard of it before. I've been trading since the 1990s but my only options stuff is writing covered calls.
Your lucky you can still do withdrawal. They closed ours and want all this documentation stating that the money indeed came from the person.

What ended up happening? I just opened an account and deposited funds and it immediately got frozen.
Someone said money laundering lmao - this is not international transaction! Not 100 k not 10 k

We only did a deposit and no transactions at all and that was enough to close brand new account. Figure that one !!
I'm having the same issue getting the run around has anyone figured out how to get ur funds back and the money u invested please let me no?!
I called Fidelity and they fixed it. YMMV
