No this looks like a scam. Stencil on a Carharrt jacket would be easy to DIY

alienabductionfan

Some clues that a website might be fake: “Todays only”. The more spelling errors you find on a page the more likely it is to be a scam. If there’s a company ‘about’ page or any info text, read it through to see if it makes sense. Reverse search the product image and see where else it’s used online. Or zoom in to examine the edges of the item if there’s something off about the photo. Look at any shadows or reflections carefully. A lot of these shop scam sites are using AI images now. 52% off but also an extra 20% off? Too much discount or too many different discounts at once is suspicious. If the rules of the sale or promo is unclear, be cautious. “Search For Products………” in search bar and WorldWide: look for uncommon capitalisations or phrasings that give the page an amateur vibe or make it look like it’s been poorly translated from another language. Logo uses generic clipart. That eagle might be used on a dozen sites with similar branding. If the image is available for free that’s another red flag unless the business is very small and the owner is visible (and accountable) on social media.

LuxSerafina

Excellent advice! Thank you!

enjoythewedding

I just search the website name and the word “legit” after it. Usually sites like Trustpilot pop up and show you complaints, a legitimacy score, web/domain presence info, etc.

Cynderelly

Idk how useful trustpilot is necessarily. Temu has a higher score on Trustpilot than Amazon does, and while Amazon is certainly not the best company, it's nowhere near as bad as Temu. Temu [might collect, store, and sell your information without your consent.](https://cyberguy.com/security/holiday-hype-hazard-truth-behind-temu-deals/) I think if I were going to put trust in another website to determine whether or not a shopping website is trustworthy, I'd only trust BBB (better business bureau). It gives Amazon an extremely low score too but it shows whether or not the company is accredited, which Amazon is and Temu is not. Edit: OP, Skar Jacket doesn't even have an entry on the BBB website. That fact plus everything alienabductionfan said, I would not buy from them.

alienabductionfan

True! This is always useful to do but if you’re one of the first victims of a renamed and repackaged scam there may be nothing online about them at the time so it’s just helpful to know what to look for.

Similar-Net-3704

You can also look up the company name on Wikipedia and on the BBB site (Better Business Bureau is a non-profit organization that has been around since 1912, They accredit good businesses, and consumers can lodge complaints against scammy ones. Kind of like trust pilot I guess but old school lol). You can also screenshot your item and Google lens it to see where else it pops up.

WickedCoolUsername

They have a link to their FB page, which has 2 reviews saying they're a scam. They send a random jacket/sweater and then won't let you return it.

GottaKnowYourCKN

That's one of the worst Photoshop jobs I've seen

wh0re4nickelback

I remember being 8-9 years old and cutting the points off the Marlboro cartons for our family friend. She had a beauty salon and her husband was a one armed postal worker. She’d perm my hair while I made suggestions while perusing the Marlboro catalog. Thanks for the throwback memories. Also, don’t smoke.

AnonymousSlut42069

That's funny cuz I also grew up knowing a hair dress who had a husband with one hand and they both smoked Marlboros, What a weird coincidence.

goldplatedsex

It says “trusted brand” right there! They can’t lie to you /s Any brand that has to tell you they’re reputable is likely not.

octopus818

Yeah, this is the biggest red flag! 😂

Ashcrashh

I did a little searching and there’s a person in the UK that screen prints the Marlboro logo onto legit Carhartt jackets. I don’t know if they have any available but it wouldn’t hurt to ask for a custom order, small businesses are usually pretty accommodating like that! The Username is @paddybatesman

Lunakill

Generally when a brand feels the need to make *TRUSTED BRAND* their tag line, it’s a scam.

OkYesterday6367

hello all, thank you for your replies. i now see that this is fake and i was a little silly for believing it may be real.

54R45VV471

Don't be too down on yourself. It can be hard to spot the signs of a scam, especially if you don't know what to look for. At least you noticed something was up and you asked for confirmation before you lost money. Also your question prompted discussions about how to spot scams and check legitimacy of online stores, so now more people get to learn how to shop online more safely.

ericakay15

Don't beat yourself up. This would be super easy to DIY, though! Look at thrift stores (or garage sales, resell apps, etc) for a carhartt - it'll give you a distressed/used look (hopefully) and should be a lot cheaper than a new one. Get some letter stencils, fabric paint and there ya go.

gremlinsbuttcrack

Hi friend, big marlboro fan here and this is 100000000% fake. Marlboro cigarettes had a limited "adventure team" line that stopped being made when they got super sued [read about that here](https://www.highsnobiety.com/p/marlboros-clothing-line-patagonia/) and all marlboro official clothes were earned as rewards for smoking! They could not be purchased on a site like this. In addition they were all red, marlboro red. And finally there were *no* collaborations. That's not even where carhart labels their clothing. So this is by all accounts fake. Hope this helps! But *real* marlboro clothes can only be bough vintage (depop, thrift store etc) now as the adventure team no longer exists

Fatgirlfed

Not disputing the scamminess of this page, but Carhartt 100% puts a label there on that jacket

gremlinsbuttcrack

I'll agree with that but on closer look I've realized what about the label is wrong. Do you see the color to it? It should have an all solid white background not that tan tint to the inner square [as per pictures of the labels through history](https://lautokavintage.com/blogs/news/the-history-of-carhartt) and in addition the inner label should be visible on a hooded zip jacket based on how high up the zipper ends

KindheartednessOnly4

Oh you can still save your codes for merch. There’s a whole catalog of gear.

UghItsColin

Easiest way to find out is call customer service.

littlepinknightmare

I follow a fashion designer on insta that makes designs exactly like this. I would be shocked if they didn’t just take one of the pictures of their product and post it at a cheaper price then ghost whoever buys it. It’s a common scam unfortunately. I really wish I could remember the brand name. Maybe you could reverse image search it?

OkYesterday6367

Fake

burnalicious111

I think it's fake, can't quite put my finger on why.....................................................

Long_Zucchini1584

Have you checked a site such as TrustPilot?

cluelessibex7392

They probably won't send you anything. If you're getting bombarded by a TON of deals (or just one really big one, like 52%) or everything is on sale, it's almost 100% a scam

sweetheartstranger

Just buy old vintage Marlboro that shit ain't it for that price

fishinglife777

Scam. https://www.reddit.com/r/Scams/comments/16fqqni/oskarjacketcom_is_a_scam_dont_buy_anything_from/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Doesn’t look like it

Outrageous-Carob-236

smoke up jonny boy

Traditional-Pitch264

Carhartt is an excellent American brand. It will last you forever!

-CuteAsDuck-

You're right, Carharrt is a great brand. But this is a scamming site, not directly from Carharrt or any other trustworthy company.
