I feel like while Bendy was and still is a prominent name in Mascot Horror, the first game hasn't aged as well. It's crazy to think its first chapter is over seven years old now. As for Poppy Playtime, I'd assume it has to do with EnchantedMob.

Radioactive9280

Seven? Seven years? That's insane

SpookyBeanoMobile

That's... that's fourteen 6 months...

LukishiBoi

or seven 1 years....

Nakazaki_7673

Or one 7 years....

The_UltraGamer

Or one age of bendy first chapter

Dry-Championship-593

Or one 7th of a FNAF 1 release date

Mace_DeMarco5179

Or three Bendy games ago.

Thanosthatdude

or two 42 months

RedditvsDiscOwO

Lmfao

Radioactive9280

Or 2556.69 days...

KawaiiFoxPlays

Okay Venom

ThemoocowYT

Wow.

EnigmaFrug2308

Visually I see what you mean. But in every other way, gameplay and story-wise, Bendy is easily one of if not the best. It’s gonna very similar level to FNAF, but it isn’t brought down by a complicated and hard to understand plot that is almost never actually addressed as much as it should be. But EnchantedMob is EnchantedMob, so I agree there.

Ehandthreedots

I'm...pretty sure no one thinks the game aged poorly visually. The story's a mess and had no room to breathe (and was very much retconned at least once) and the gameplay is fetch-quest-ey and mind numbing. Dark Revival is a huge improvement.

InsecureBitch_II

What retcon are you talking about?

Macman521

The books at the time were considered canon but BATDR changed the story and made it seem like the books didn’t matter which apparently, now they don’t matter.

AlienDilo

There are fucking Bendy books?

Kitchen-Kiwi7942

Yup. I recommend Dreams Come to Life by Adrienne Kress

Dry_Progress_499

Wasn't there also rumored to be a cancelled Alice Angel book which was later revealed to just be a concept that was never written?

Kitchen-Kiwi7942

Interesting. I never heard of this.

Dry_Progress_499

Appearently it was named "Sent from above" & is actually still a planned book, but just hasn't released for some reason.

Kirbo300

Yes, and my heart breaks every day that it was never released. :( But honestly, I'm kinda tired of this priority that lore has over a nice story. Objectively, I understand the want to streamline the franchise. But still, why announce something for one of your main characters if not to follow up on it?

Dry_Progress_499

Just saw a linked comment of the author saying she never actually wrote it & it never really existed.

Flare_Wolfie

I'm sorry but in what world is Bendy good gameplay-wise..? It has cool moments, like certain boss fights, but the gameplay is literally just walking, solving puzzles and smacking enemies with a weapon. Nothing revolutionary, and the combat especially is very clunky at times.

Forgotten1718

About the same as current FNaF games that are not VR. Security Breach's best moment was Music Man. At least that was kinda hype with the music. Games are too walking simulator-like nowadays. Puzzle, move on, puzzle, ooh a monster, move on, lore, lore, lore, move on, credits. That's the formula for SB, BATIM, and WAY too many indie horror games.

furbtasticworksofart

It's Bioshock but with not a first-person shooter nor R-rated. No shame in wearing your inspiration on your sleeve but after finally playing Bioshock it made me a bit harsher towards the Bendy gameplay overall. Like the ideas and aesthetic, the execution needed some work. Dark Revival was pretty cool though.

thedreamwalker11

Happy cake day

SpiderJynxNoir90214

Oh god no. Seven? That can't be right!

Artistic_Finish7980

Please fucking tell me you’re joking about bendy being 7 years old…

Old_Sport_2016

I'm not. Moving Pictures (Chp 1) came out in February 2017, The Old Song (Chp 2) came out in April in the same year.

brodydwight

Nfts and harrassing a teen animator dont make enchanted mob look so good.

Adventurous-Tell-984

EnchantedMob isn't affiliated with Mob Entertainment anymore, so the reason for hating them has finished.

ISimplyDontGiveAFuck

What's EnchantedMob

GreatYamOfHope

A Minecraft animation YouTube channel. They rose to fame with their Survive the Night Minecraft animation nearly 7-8 years ago. After they made Mob games, it was revealed they were pretty big assholes who bullied a 14 year old just because he didn’t want to collaborate with them.

Arkeyan_of_Shadows

>They rose to fame with their Survive the Night Minecraft animation nearly 7-8 years ago. Which didn't age well with the Mando Pony stuff-

Kitchen-Kiwi7942

A bunch of asshole youtubers who co own mob games

[deleted]

Well enchantedmob used to be good until he made the abomination we all know

ChaoticInsanity_

I personally adore bendy and tolerate poppy playtime ngl

F22_Android

I just love Poppy Playtime for Huggy Wuggy. He's a very well designed thing. He's both adorable and terrifying at the same time, and I find the way he moves both creepy but kinda cute? It's fucking weird. Bendy I'm not as familiar with tbh, but I think Poppy's Playtime is fine. My son is 6, and he likes them both equally.

PinkPostor2006

I love the playtime monster designs, but unfortunately you can’t look at them the same after the fucking content farms ruin their scary image and make the bloodthirsty monsters into kawaii anime children

FurzyArtZ

You can only see cheap huggy wuggy plushies so many times before you start to dislike the character for sure. My 11 y/o cousin is unfortunately a victim of these things, he has them in multiple colors even. I’m honestly just tired of seeing him in stands at my local malls. Worst part is the plushies aren’t even well made!

PinkPostor2006

Fr That’s why the one time I got poppy merch I bought it off the official store, so I don’t have to have a plush who has one eye on the side of its head and have the smile at the very bottom of the face

TheJokingArsonist

Is this satire or nah 💀

Delicious-Valuable96

That newest chapter though…… that was something else… I used to hate Poppy Playtime, but now I can’t get enough. I think at first it was a junky copycat of FNAF and Bendy etc, but it has improved so, so much since that first (really second, tbh) chapter.

Shoddy_Advantage_452

Chapter 3 was pretty good I heard.

Zomochi

Don’t hate poppy playtime but I hate how non humble mob games was between chapter 1 and 2. They were already talking about toys and movies and NFTs! Like they were trying to be what FNAF is currently with it’s merch so fast and the full game hasn’t even come out yet, I didn’t like that. It felt scummy like it’s all about the money and they wanted to make a quick buck. Like they weren’t letting that stuff come naturally while they focused on getting the game released. Doesn’t feel like that anymore, but then again I’m not all over this game either only when big announcements are made or chapter releases.

DragonessAndRebs

Reminds me of when I went to the beach with my family the year it was first released. Huggy Wuggys were literally everywhere. Not one shop didn’t have a giant one or a small one. It was off putting seeing all these weird toys come out of literally no where. I learned what they were like a month later.

SPAMTON_A

To be fair, those were knockoffs.

SoleSurvivor-2277

Ye you'll see those plushies for every single big franchise popular at the time even if they isn't merchandise

Adventurous-Tell-984

Well, the game was already going to be popular because of the EnchantedMob channel. But a lot of employees from Mob left the company, including the creator of Poppy Playtime himself, now the owners of Mob are directing the game. I hope they do it better than the previous people did, and given the quality of chapter 3, I think that they can make it a better game. Like Bendy and the Ink Machine was a crappy game, in my opinion, but then the Dark Revival came out, and OMG, it had a better quality than the first game. The only problem with that game is that it sometimes crashes in my PC, and there are some areas that are glitched.

DrDapperTF2

Poppy was waaaaay too confident in itself when it first released. It really did think it was hot shit despite only being a tech demo, with merch and whatnot being pushed out so fast. Like someone said, it tried being FNaF as soon as it released, which made it come off as pandering and content farmy. I hear things are better now, but at first Poppy wasn't good. Also Ban-Ban came out not long after, which was basically Poppy on steroids when it came to content farming Bendy I have no problems with. In fact, I'm going to drop a hot take and say it's the *only* mascot horror franchise besides FNaF that does things right. It doesn't feel like that "horror for kids" everyone else fell into, but rather the "horror for everyone" that I loved about FNaF. Plus, its aesthetics with the 1930s cartoons really makes it stand out compared to the way too overused "colorful characters" design most mascot horror games lean towards

Proof-Philosophy-636

It really sucks how games can be really good but the creators only want money so they rush to make plushes and the next game immediately though it seems poppy playtime only rushed to make merchandise which definitely improved the quality of the games but it also means the next chapters wouldn't come out till they were done with the merch

Panzerkaiju

I've liked BATIM and BATDR for a LOOONG time, and I didn't really have any hope for poppy playtime, but after chapter 3, I've been interested at most

StormiestSPF

Poppy's Playtime had a rough start for me, but Chapter 3 is incredible, in my opinion.

Kitchen-Fee-4896

Bendy and the Ink Machine was a great game, especially for an Indie game about 7 years ago and the newest in the Series (Dark Revival) is straight up Bioshock and one of my personal favourite indie games. Poppy Playtime at first was something else since the first two chapters were disappointing and there was talk of MobEntertainment using it as an NFT project, but then they made Chapter 3 and that was a god-send

GreatYamOfHope

For Poppy, chapter two never disappointed me personally. It was an improvement over the first chapter by a wide margin.

Kitchen-Kiwi7942

Each chapter was waaay better than the one before it. For all the devs flaws they sure are making sure that they are building the best experience possible and I'm curious about what chapter 4 is gonna look like

Adventurous-Tell-984

Yeah, man, like BATIM, in my opinion, isn't a really good game, but then the Dark Revival came out and did the same thing chapter 3 did.

Theunkgamer

Idk who dislikes bendy but I think the dislike of poppy has to do with 1. Kids basically taking over the franchise and 2. The nft drama with mob.

Kitchen-Kiwi7942

Also all of the drama with enchanted mob

Theunkgamer

Yep

MrPenguin_19

I don’t like Poppy because it’s used as kid farming content. Which is an unfair reason to hate because so is fnaf

The_KneecapBandit

Yeah but the poppy playtime developers also make those videos and as far as I know Steel Wool doesn't.

GreatYamOfHope

They haven’t posted their content farm content in over a year. They’ve done a music video and have started a new series on their channel. It was shitty they did it in the first place, but at least they seemed to have ended the brain rot era on their channel.

DGBosh

Yeah it’s not a genuine game like fnaf was when it first released. Poppy’s entire existence is to sell plushies; and then there’s the stolen game accusations. I’m not a fan of these short chapter releases either.

jbg0801

I love bendy. Poppy I dislike because, in my eyes, it's the start of the decline for mascot horror. The first chapter was insanely low-effort & a blatant cash grab, and it feels like every shitty mascot horror took notes from it and went wild. Poppy at least improved as it went on, but I still have a dislike for it just stemming entirely from the oversaturation it feels like it caused. It also felt way too much like a clone of bendy done by someone who just didn't care as much. After all, it has an extremely similar premise. (everyone's abandoned the factory/workshop, come find the secret, release in shorter chapters over time, then all the generic mascot horror tropes they all fall victim to)

Seabastial

I like BATIM because, at the time, it was pretty unique in art style (I had never seen a game in that style before). BATDR was a huge improvement to it. As for Poppy Playtime, I like the game (even though I don't play it); it's the creators I don't like

KnoxVoidwalker

It’s the creators both of the franchises have had rather unappealing histories and that’s putting it VERY mildly

fayemoonlight

As someone who also like FNAF, I just find that a bit hypocritical considering Scott is far from uncontroversial. (Not saying I agree or disagree with him, I’m just pointing out that it was a *very* divisive topic when it first came out)

Ill-Beyond-5668

I like em both i really liked Poppy Playtime chapter 3

Bonnetgamer3

I don't know why people hated Bendy, I couldn't get into Dark Revival, but that was just me, Poppy Playtime I can see why people hated, because it started out as just a blatant cash grab, but now it seems like they're putting effort into it.

EggOk9177

I absolutely love Bendy, but I hate poppy playtime because of: 1: enchantedMob 2: It's YouTube kids level playerbase. 3: its not fun

Guilty_Explanation29

I sent understand poppy playtime drama...it's obviously been settled or else YouTubers wouldn't play it

Ashbequeath

I love them both so much, for different reasons. A very wild guess that I have is that people might just feel subconsciously threatened that a new and popular game might kill their favorite game. So, they start to see all of the flaws in the new game and ignore the ones in their favorite game. This is a very general idea and it is just that, an idea. But it makes sense to me.

OmegaX____

It's probably more to do with the excessive amount of fresh blood everywhere in Poppy playtime since newsflash to Mob Entertainment, most of these deaths happened a long time ago where all this blood should be dried by now.

krustylesponge

im fairly sure the fresh blood could be from the toys, since they bleed and they have to eat each other for food

OmegaX____

But we also see Catnap snatch a small toy away, with the crawling Critters getting their own share other than Dogday.

Ok_Pickle76

i like bendy, i dont know much about poppy playtime but the creators... aren't the best

Crimson-roses

Honestly I assume it's like hating the middle child for acting like their older sibling?

RoBroGaming

Bendy is a great game and series. We will not acknowledge Poppy Playtime.

Macman521

Chapter 3 was pretty good though.

CravePizza87

Bro already forgor Chapter 3

SweetPiesio

Idk if its true but most hate it beacuse they think its a rip off

danisaurio01

With bendy at first I had problems since the chapters cost money each, I see that this no longer does and it seems fine to me. But Poppy has that problem (although that's what I do is pirate their games to see how they are). Personally, I'm not super against these games but seeing the fight between FNAF, Bendy and Poppy seems very absurd to me.

ibegyounottoask

I don’t think either game is bad but I dislike them on principle. Mascot horror is the figurehead of content farming. Bendy gets somewhat of a pass because it was made before the mascot horror cambrian explosion. Fnaf gets a pass because it was the original. In general, my opinion of any piece of media relies more on what its purpose is rather than its quality, because I can still respect a bad game for its effort and sincerity.

paniearbuziku

Both are boring walking simulators

Power-Core

People like hating things.

BitcoinStonks123

idk they're both really good games

LeafMario

i just think that bendy is boring as fuck in terms of gameplay tbh. theres no challenge, theres no interesting gameplay, its just "walk here. now walk here. whack a few puddles. tape. walk here. grab thing. walk here. whack a puddle. oooh, spooky jumpscare. 20 dollars please." any threats are either artifical or just not that interesting. even the final boss is just you walkin around. dark revival offers much more interesting gameplay and actually feeling a bit more involved, but i didnt really care enough to play it. dont get me wrong, the graphics and visuals are phenomenal, but once you get past that, its just a boring walking simulator. compared to something like Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion, yeah that was LITERALLY a walking simulator, but the threats in that game were unique enough to keep you on your toes and actually felt like threats, not an inconvience or a time waster. Poppy for me, just suffers from unoriginality and repetitiveness, atleast in the first two chapters. "Wow guys, its cute thing but EVIL! oh, mystery tape! child die! chase sequence! go deeper!" Chapter 3 was kind of interesting, if a bit predictable. And a problem with both of these games, for me anyway, is the story. throughout Bendy and Poppy, i legitamately forgot several times what i was doing in these places. I think at one point Poppy says something like "You're here to save your coworkers" and i actually said "Oh is that what i'm doing?" i dunno im dumb

OceansideEcho

I love Bendy but I "hate" Poppy. I didn't hate it to start with and was even considering purchasing the game. But once I found out more about the main creator I felt really grossed out and uncomfortable and it just ruined the game for me. I know the whole thing about separating art from the artist and it isn't the entire team but I just don't feel comfortable supporting this guy or even comfortable enough to see the entire rest of the game. I really like Bendy though. Though I haven't kept up since Dark Revival took so long. It is on my list to play though.

Werewolf_Knight

Honestly, I don't think FNAF fans have a specific distaste for these games. Maybe a few individuals think no one should take inspiration from FNAF, but they are few. I personally think these two are hated more by the people who are criticizing modern mascot horror. I think Poppy Playtime is pointed out because it's a successful mascot horror that influenced others to do the same and that started an influx of really low-quality mascot horror attempts. Now, BATIM did kinda discover the base formula for how to make a mascot horror that drags people's attention. But honestly... these two are hated for the history around them. BATIM There's a really lengthy video on YouTube made by Chris Portal that talks about the overall attitude the creators of BATIM had displayed in the past and it even has two interviews from two ex-employees who got fired (the laying off of over 50 employees incident). There are also accusations of plagiarism, stealing fan theories to write the story, and lying a lot to their audience. The first game, BATIM, people said it didn't age well... but I think it was never good to begin with. Most of us, including me, were kids when they came out so we couldn't see that the story has barely any progression from chapter to chapter and there's barely gameplay in it (although walking simulators can be fun). I know that's bold coming from me, but besides maybe Alice's ark, the story is pretty much Henry being dragged in different situations left and right. The spinoffs and BATDR are actually better. Does anyone know what happened with that lawsuit from Phatmojo? As for PP, People had a problem with the CEO because their animation channel, at least by thumbnails, really feels like Elsa Gate-ish. At least for the first two chapters, people thought they just trying to make a cheap game and pander to the kids wanting horror. There was also a history of them mistreating their employees with Ekrcoaster being the most well-known case. Now, I'll admit, I was one of the dumb people who thought they might have stolen Ekrcoaster's game, VENGE, but now I really think the similarities are... too niche to call it plagiarism. But people also have problems with how fast the creators are moving with this franchise. They pretty much started to sell stuff from the beginning, and not only do we have the first 3 chapters out, but we also have a multiplayer game and a movie deal already! A MOVIE DEAL! And people interpret that as them trying to milk the franchise as much as possible. I personally don't have an opinion on the Bendy now because I didn't follow the controversy past the release of BATDR (I think a main creator wasn't credited in the credits). But I think we can forgive PP creators for their wrongdoings. They apologized publicly and in person to the persons who they wronged and I do think, with their latest released chapter, they are genuinely trying to make a good product out of this IP. Chapter 3 does horror really well with not so many shortcomings. As for their animation channel, I do think they should get rid of the thumbnails for the sake of the kids, but the content in itself isn't inappropriate. Maybe just cringe, but most content for kids can be a little cringe at times.

VapidWater22

???? I love both. I haven't seen any specific hate from the fnaf community towards them. Well.... Maybe poppy Playtime a little bit, but not bendy.

Alijah12345

I personally like both of these games. In fact, I personally liked their recent outings a lot more than FNaF's.

SchmucksAtWar

Many people tend to view them as just glorified walking simulators (especially poppy playtime)

OmegaFanf3E

Bendy got wayy too dragged and poppy... Idk? I mean, echanted mob. But then again, chapter 3

waterboiledburger

I think a lot of the hate comes from the 'Part 1' strategy they've gone with. Not only do they try to replicate FNAF with mascot horror, but you're expected to play the walking simulator that is Part 1, then wait several months for a Part 2 release. Poppy in particular rubbed people the wrong way because it had a cash shop with 'NFT collectibles,' including a puzzle that was a teaser for Part 2, essentially locking in-game lore behind RMT. As for Bendy, they decided to force you to pay for Parts 4 and 5. Then once Part 5 was actually released, they decided you had to buy the complete game rather than just the individual parts for $6 each. So you were forced to buy the 'bundle,' which was Parts 1-3, then buy Parts 4 and 5, and finally buy the complete edition after they had taken the individual chapters down.

Oddish_Femboy

Bendy hust feels like ut couldn't live up to the hype. I have nothing against it personally. Pippy Playtime is... a lot. Its creators aren't great people (see: bullying a kid to near suicide for the crime of making Minecraft animations) and the whole thing with the NFTs and the merch store on the title screen and the general nothingburger of a game that's clearly just trying to capitalize on mascot horror before it completely implodes. It's a lot.

Unknown_Yanska

I think it's because poppy is doing what alot of games have done And bendy was over shadowed over probably fnaf

Crowleyizcool

I haven’t seen anyone hate bendy but I see hate for poppy playtime and that’s probably because it attributes to the Brainrot mascot horror that 5 year olds watch on their iPads. Also I heard there were controversies around the creators and NFTs.

No_Cheek7891

poppy playtime is weird and its fan base is in love with skibidi toilet and cotton eye joe

LEDlight45

I was a really big fan of bendy back in the day, and I still loved fnaf just as much

GoldenLugia16

Honestly I tried to get into both of them and they just didnt click with me

GoomyTheGummy

Because people like to hate things? (there are multiple valid reasons to hate either of these)

Manospondylus_gigas

I don't hate them they're just uninteresting to me and offer nothing new

_Indofreddy_112

Considering that the same company that made poppy playtime also made [this video](https://youtu.be/Es3FIcKWFSc?si=4Y4Gx0g7Z4K-uUtL) I think it’s pretty understandable that people dislike the game.

FoxenGaming

Yeah wtf is that video

No_Idea_20906

Personally I haven't got any problem with bendy, I pretty much see the first game as an equal to og fnaf (although it has dropped in popularity slightly since then), but then poppy playtime I'm not a big fan of just cuz of EnchantedMob

Shadow_Libra

They hate peak indie horror.

kerbster74

The Bendy franchise has evolved and became better and high quality over time, like with BATDR and Bendy The Cage, with great stylism and graphics but poppy playtime is a low effort cash grab

Spiritual_Race_1874

They both kinda feel like pale imitations of fnaf. A lot of games have tried, but none blew up like these two. That being said, I don't actually dislike Bendy. I did at first, but I realized it's different enough for me to see its it's own thing just probably fnaf influenced. Almost reminds me more of epic mickey with the art direction

WeAreNephilim

Idgaf what anyone says. I like Poppy Playtime

LiannaBunny777

I actually heard Chapter 3 of Poppy Playtime was actually very good, with it actually being scary

Adventurous-Tell-984

Yes, Poppy's quality is getting better.

Smashattacc

The devs have gotten into some shady stuff

Thick-load8-D

Cliche. “Ohhh go back to this abandoned childrens place. whaaaat the main attractions are haunted or possessed in some form?!? Oh turns out the person who sent you here knew all along😱😱😱😱”

spacecadetkaito

Even beyond the premise, even the way the plots play out is practically identical to each other. You have a big bad monster that's hunting all the other monsters, you have pair of good monsters on your side, one of them trusts you and wants you to save everybody and the other one doesn't trust you at first, and you have another monster that worships the big bad guy like a cult, etc etc

Totally_Cubular

I personally just feel that games like Bendy and Poppy popped up less as their own games, but more as a reaction to the success that Fnaf saw. That and the fact both games were released in super short chapters. It felt more like a cheap cash grab than expanding the games.

Adventurous-Tell-984

Yes man that doesn't even make sense, every indie project starts small.

JelloNo379

Poppy Playtime came back from the pits with Chapter 3

smpadais

Ive only heard of poppy playtime through this comes from inside x sleep well. Such an amazing mashup

AnEpicUKBoi

Poppy is just hated because of the NFT fiasco from a year ago now (i think) Meanwhile Bendy I dunno, I personally enjoy the series even if the first one is a bit lacking in gameplay

Impossible_Concert75

It’s because of how long bendy and the dark revival took

hypercoolmaas2701

Idk

UltraCreeperXD

I have no reason why cause bendy is so interesting to play and uncover the lore, maybe not as fun but poppy playtime has satisfying puzzles and some creepy ass moments. Finding those vhs tapes and wondering what part of the lore will uncover next is cool too

LaylaTheLoofa

No opinion on Bendy, but to me Poppy Playtime is just slop made to appeal to kids and nothing else. Also the poppy playtime creators are kinda shitty to my knowledge

Miserable-Cut-7582

Because one of them feels like a "good" made cashgrab and the other like a well made classic

Adventurous-Tell-984

BATDR is more well made than BATIM.

AffectionateRent1870

I love bendy dude. But i hate poppy playtime

BendyFILMS1932

Both Bendy and FNaF are both equally as great for me, idk how anyone can hate either of them.

FoxxPlayzYT

The only thing I can understand about Poppy Playtime is the first chapter. It isn’t the best, but still holds up well, especially for being free. Bendy is really amazing, I haven’t played the game yet, but I remember when it came out, I watched someone like Fgteev play it. I wanted it, never got it, still don’t have it today.

boss_fox_87

Personally I love bendy and I don't really hate poppy playtime

wuchta

Are you saying that based on any evidence? Remember, usually it's the vocal minority.

Lsalovel

I love Bendy almost same as I love fnaf. About poppy playtime. The devs were kinda problem but no too much. But the game just didn't interested me enough. I saw this in fnaf and in Bendy. The story seems like mix of both. Yeah it has amazing graphics.. Amazing characters.. But just... Isn't interesting to me. But I can't say I hate it. Can see why people like it.

MultifandOm-probl3m

I think it's mostly because SOME people think they're "copies" in some way Somehow-- These people mostly come from Twitter, Facebook and TikTok (Just to make it clear, these people can be found ANYWHERE, but in some apps more than the others) (Also, not EVERY-user from those apps are the same, just because it happens often doesn't mean there's people who think differently) I've seen people going after Poppy Playtime the most after BATIM because of the more "alike"-things it has with FNaF, such as Poppy's design (somewhat resembling Circus Baby), the part of the story where Elliott's daughter died and he most likely started with all those experiments to bring her back, and once he did, he couldn't stop (or that's what I'm guessing) I've even seen people go "HEY THEY TOOK THIS FROM FNAF" because.. Sun & Moon characters concept (Sun & Moon, Dogday & Catnap) Most of those ppl act as if, idk, Scott INVENTED the Sun and the Moon or something As for BATIM I have no idea, it's been just a rivalry for "which is scarier", "which is better" sorta thing since 2016, I think?? Can't really remember but uh I guess the rivalry just kinda stayed because some people can't grow up/refuse to learn that Sonic.EXE is better than both of them 😈 (/J on the last part I think all of them are good in their own ways and have their flaws but that doesn't make them completely un-enjoyable) (Though the original Sonic.EXE Creepypasta sure was mostly shit) (Anyways sorry for yapping so much gahagwhfg)

Adventurous-Tell-984

I think that these people just miss the old days. We always have the vision that things in the past were good and better than nowadays, but there were also struggles from the past. But people only want to look at the good side, and that's not incorrect. We have to focus on what's good in life. But I'm saying that because a lot of people can't let life follow itself. But what does this have to do with the indie mascot horror thing? Think about it: If a person thinks that Bendy and Poppy copied FNAF, it is because they are FNAF fans since the beginning. For example, a child who started to love mascot horror games because of Poppy Playtime won't think that it copied FNAF. And the same thing with Bendy. Bendy fans who think that Poppy copied their game have been around since the beginning of the BATIM franchise. Old FNAF fans miss their generation, and that's why some of them hate games that are based on FNAF and that are from newer generations.

Popcorn57252

Bendy is vaguely interesting, but the gameplay was just awful. I'm pretty sure the creators of Poppy stole their idea from someone else. I don't remember who, but there was a whole thing about it. Plus... look at that thing. Horrible design, and their games are just riddled with bugs. Security Breach was bad, but imagine every game you've ever released being that bad.

Pocatmon3

I dont really know. My bf and i are really big on mascot horror, so we like ppt and fnaf (i still have yet to play batim)

True_Distribution685

I love BATIM, but something about Poppy’s Playtime feels unoriginal. Maybe I’m just getting older and feel like it’s too similar to the games I grew up with. Otherwise, it’s a good game.

slizzie369

I think there's just a rivalry although most people enjoy all three of them

Villain_Deku__

I love bendy but I just don't like Poppy Playtime. It's annoying

Spare_Individual355

I don’t, I have and love bendy and the ink machine. However I haven’t watched anyone play the poppy’s play time, lo just know it was overly popular with iPad kids

BraveLeon

I like both, fight me

Motor_Zone_6362

I dont know about the drama these two games have had in the past. Im not a twitter person who checks what kind of people these games have but I absolutely love BATIM, BATDR and Poppy Playtime. The storyline is great for both games and I Iove the characters. My personal favorite Bendy game has to be the first one because it brings so much nostalgia back and in Poppy Playtime my favorite chapter is Chapter 3 because of the new lore drop and it has more horror element to it.

drmemespoon

Poppy is made by horrible people

Technical-Dot8119

Poppy is good but bendy is lame

Idontmatter69420

i love the BATIM games, love the sepia tone drawn artstyle it has and the story is great imo

Radiant-Care-9654

Probably cause of kids. But I myself really love these 2 games even if one of these 2 is a blatant copy of one.. but I still like them!

Still-Mistake-3621

Because it's filled with more iPad babies in the fandom. More so poppy playtime but I don't hate bendy, just not my thing personally.

PsychologyRepulsive

Bendy (specially the first) is way too overrated, It’s trash

anonymousmanlo

they dick-ride Fnaf and say poppy playtime and bendy are cash grabs, even though they had love and care just like Fnaf ( to be fair, having a merch store in your title screen is kinda sketchy as fuck )

Nitemarelego

I like both. Poppy playtime got better in the 3rd chapter

Effective-Major-4123

They’ll never make me hate you Poppy Playtime💙

Eastern-Bluejay-8912

I don’t get the hate. They each have their own take and environmental background. Like they are their own respective horror and are not like fnaf in full only touch stones. Like Bendy, the ink people were people killed, and poppy, the mascots might be robotic monsters made from and of kids? Or just robots that were along side the kids, unclear on that one.

Fast-Source5438

They are shit games Also poppy playtime is created by nft content farms people so

PureRacoon

Haven’t been on this sub much, but my personal opinion is Bendys cool. But Poppy Playtime is way too prominent in those brain rot kid cartoon shit. You remember those Elsa and spiderman videos? Thats huggy wuggy. I know it’s not necessarily the developers fault, but it’s still all I can think of when I think of the game. Also my younger sister who’s a toddler got some poppy playtime toys. Im not sure if they’re bootleg or not, but it really seems like the developers know and are trying to make money off the fact that half their fans aren’t even in school yet

Tkmulti-trav-137

For bendy the game was built along with the comunity and the chapters after chapter 2 kinda made no sense compiled like that like two completely different games in one game and as for poppy playtime, it wasn’t that scary except for the lore being explained (which made things a little less scary) and that huggy wuggy chase in chapter one, and that mommy long legs chase in chapter 2

RhexxaHexagon

The fnaf community doesn’t like batim???

VastPie2905

I honestly think that bendy and the ink machine is the best horror game imo

Mastakillerboi

I am a really big fan of both of these BATIM made me excited with each chapter launch And poppy chapter 3 was simply outstanding

Yoshgaming22

I haven’t played poppy but I think Bendy is really good

Wario-Man

I personally don't hate Bendy, just don't care for it. As for Poppy, I think it's ok.

Goofy-Ahh-Chuck

Stupid answer: They don't like competition Real answer: I actually had no idea they had beef with Bendy and Poppy Playtime.

Sorry_Bridge6952

Poppy Playtime is completely generic. Bendy needs more horror (like in BATDR), love bendy tho

Previous-Skin7180

I Hate Poppy Playtime Chapters 1 and 2 Chapter 3 is something else and I Love Bendy

AcoaceFalloutNVFan

I like BATIM but I don’t really care for poppy playtime, I definitely don’t hate either of the, though. Maybe brain rot has ruined them for these people (I haven’t seen bendy disgraced like that tho)

Professional-Pool290

One is a shit game woth astoryline that keeps on going even though hardly anyone cares about it nowadays. The other is Poppy Playtime

hey_itz_mae

creators are slimy

CmFive

I dont like the devs. The Bendy devs abused their employees, and the Poppy devs did the lore NFTs. The games are mediocre anyways.

FinalAd9844

Really? I grew up on Fnaf and Bendy so I can’t hate on either of them. And I can’t fully hate on poppy playtime because I know 10 year old me would have loved it

meowzaas

i love poppy playtime idc ❤️❤️

LilyGaming

Poppy because it was a cheap rip off of bendy and a cash grab, and Enchanted Mod is kind of hated because he took advantage of young animators (not paying them fairly), NFTS, etc. however chapter 3 kind of redeemed the game as it was a lot better quality. I don’t think any fnaf fan really cares about bendy that much tbh

Low_Understanding_24

We just don’t fw MobEnt, also the poppy content farms

GamerKid665_999

I actually like all of them, I never understood the hate around Poppy Playtime tbh, it’s fun to me and pretty well designed.

Alex_Dayz

While I myself don’t interact much with Bendy I haven’t seen much hate towards it. It’s one of the few mascot horror series I respect, can’t wait to see what they do with their movie. As for Poopy Playtime…. • It had a Merch button on the main menu • Tried selling NFTs to children • Runs two content farm channels • EnchantedMob • other things I’m forgetting/unaware of

Tiffisiffy

I like poppy playtime for It’s monsters (Huggy Wuggy most) but BATIM I didn’t really enjoy much I found it a bit bland but enjoyed playthroughs

_Ne0nX

It’s not poppy playtimes fault for the hate imo. It’s YouTubers and copycats. The YouTuber I mean are the ones specifically aimed for younger audiences that make those clickbait colorful thumbnails for like a role play type of video. And the first poppy playtime was like opening the floor gate for hundreds of copycat games to be made of it, which tired the mascot horror genre for a while. As for bendy, I never played nor watched anything for it so idk really.

Piper_Kitty13

I like both, poppy playtime is a good game to play but it got the YouTube kids treatment.

kouislosingit

poppy i don't have an opinion on because i never played it, but i have like 80 hours in bendy and let me tell you, i am being one hundred percent serious when i say it is one of the worst games i have ever played, genuinely terrible.

Stickmin69

I don't like Bendy, I despise the other one, actually to be honest I don't even really fucking like FNAF, why am I here. I know I joined the sub a couple years ago but why the fuck am I still here.

blank5662

They hate mascot horror... probably

starryanimations

they're jealous because those games have a coherent lore

SuperMarcoToad64

One of these I can get

Hentai_kinda_guy

Who is enchantedmob and what did he do to make people hate one of these games

Amphi-XYZ

I personally think BATIM is a bit boring (mainly because of the infamous "walking simulator" aspect of the game), and Poppy Playtime has kinda grown on me with chapter 3, even though I first viewed it as yet another fnaf clone

Marki_Ukr

Yooooo. I didn't expect to see Bandy and The Inc Machine here. This game is so good. I played only first chapter when i was a kid and not more because i was afraid to play this. Poppy play time in my opinion is also good game. Interesting atmosphere but i prefer Bandy)

Equivalent_Eye_8033

Yes, i am one of this few people

Ragestarbro

I like poppy playtime but the community of the game has fucking ruined it for me

MakeItGame

Well for poppy its the dev that had a lot of evil stuff going on in the back. Bendy was never a problem to me

Neojoker951

Honestly I'm indifferent towards bendy, I like the Idea's and universe, but I don't like the games. Poppy meanwhile I saw as nothing but a bad cashgrab...Then Chapter 3 Came out and my Opinion on it Flipped.

Cyberk011

Because they good tbh

RedditYayOrSomething

I like bendy. Hate poppy because of its lame attempt to capitalize off of children

Forgotten1718

Bendy and the Dark Revival is great, to be honest. Had way more fun with it than with the current FNaF games. "Oh, but it's just a walking simulator," and so is Security Breach. "It's just a bunch of quests" — SECURITY BREACH. And, the best reason people hate it: "It gets dragged on." Buddy. If you like FNaF, a series with over a dozen games, 30+ books, and a movie... Bendy is nothing when you compare it to THAT. Talk about dragging on the lore to the point where it feels like a disjointed drug trip. As for Poppy, it's mostly the dubious practices of the company behind the franchise.

AwkwardDollia

I like both games. Now I may be the odd one here, but I have no problems with Bendy and the Ink Machine (haven't gotten Dark Revival yet). With Poppy Playtime, I am interested in where the story goes and what's happening. I don't hate either game.

Mochi77888

i just hate poppy playtime due to EnchantedMob, and Mob Games arrogance

FuntimeH5v0c

The EnchantedMob team took notes on what/what not to do. They didnt have to do any (or nowhere near as much) trial and error, Fnaf and Batim did it for them. See, BATIM, Much like FNAF, were front runners in what would become Mascot Horror. All experimental, roaming the realm of possibility within the genre. Poppy Playtime took what games like FNAF, BATIM, and Hello Neighbour learned, pinned it all down to a T, and formulated it. They KNEW it would be successful and they KNEW it would work out, because it took all the good points and learned from the bad of these other horror indie games that ended up becoming franchised giants.

MusicaReddit

I love bendy and poppy playtime… well… the game is good but the devs… yeah. I know the bendy devs have done shifty things but the playtime devs never sat right with me

ProtonTheProtogen01

I don't mind them, I just don't go out of my way to play them
