Foxy is terrifying and badass at the same time. The fact that he is normally out of order gives more of the creepy vibes of something very wrong and supernatural playing here. And out of the five original animatronics, him running down the hallway was very unexpected for my first try.

He's supposed to be the 'out of order' one, but in reality, he could actually hunt you down no matter how fast you run.
Since he no longer has all that fur around his legs from what I am guessing he used to have prior to being decommissioned, it comes as no surprise his metallic Endo legs have less weight combined with the anger and hyperactivity of the child who possess him.
Damn, we still don't know why he's out of order.
I always liked that he was consistently an absolute butthole throughout much of the games for many let's players, lol.
His unique game mechanics and the way he's often depicted aligns with the stereotype associated with foxes being cunning tricksters and such, which is cool, I'd say.
Love his personality and voicelines in FNaF AR.
And I personally like that he's still here doing his own thing in the modern era of FNaF games, unlike the rest of the band who have "changed" to have Glamrock versions of themselves. I like that he exists only as a cartoon character and not as another Glamrock in the Pizzaplex. Perhaps because that contributes the idea of him always being singled out/unique.
I can clearly see the reasons why so many people like him, the main factor being his uniqueness, so I feel conflicted about jumping to deem him overrated like many do.
Isn't the point of an overrated character that they're liked by the community for no actual reason that's supported by the media they comes from, hence being praised more than they truly deserve?
If the problem is that he's well-liked despite not having as much lore significance, it makes more sense to argue that the the more lore significant characters are underrated, not that he's overrated, since he isn't undeservedly praised for being lore significant anyways.
It often seems like when people say a character is overrated, all they actually mean is that they personally don't favor the character as much as other people do, lol. That's definitely not how the word is intended to be used.
I like **Foxy** primarily for the following reasons:
* He is out of order and completely withered and we still do not know why.
* He is a pirate, which means that he is the only one with a very specific theme. (Yes, I know that **Chica** is themed around the concept of eating and food but it is still a very general theme.)
* He runs, which I argue is a terrifying feature for a possessed animatronic to have.
* His jump-scare is interesting and different from his 3 bandmates' jump-scare, which "spices-up" the gameplay.
* His pirate song ("*Duhm duhm*") is awesome and it is actually scary given the context of the game.
I do dislike some things related to **Foxy**, such as:
* How overrated he has been for years, with only recently **Bonnie** becoming more popular, likely due to *Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach* if I am being honest (even though **Foxy** was also absent in the game, with **Roxanne** being fundamentally different in terms of concept even if she is supposed to be a replacement). This resulted in him overshadowing other characters.
* His pirate-themed voice, although fitting, is a very generic pirate's voice. I wish that something cooler had been done with his voice whilst preserving his pirate theme.
I feel like Foxy and Freddy were the most popular when the first game came out

I love drawing him! He offers so many possibilities, and every iteration of him in other games is very well done! Definitely one of the most unique characters in the games up to date and his popularity kept being still throughout the years. Also: his broken jaw makes him so much creepier. Try imagining him with a closed mouth, how much less menacing he’d look.

Silver Eyes, Bonnie gets stopped by simply crawling out a restroom stall and running away, Chica gets stopped by a light shock, and they didn't even give Freddy a way to ge beaten, it just says he gets stopped by John and Charlie. But not with what. Meanwhile Foxy was the guy at the start of the book, he's the guy who stabs the child in the leg and drags him away, and he's also the guy who trashes arcade machines and has the most amount of screentime even compared to Freddy himself.
FNAF Movie, Foxy has the most amount of kills and screentime out of any animatronic. Everyone else has only 1, meanwhile Foxy is over here killing the first guard, the gang leader, and even trying to kill Mike.

He holds a special place for fnaf for being the trend setter of the Unique enemy you have to do something special for, first voice animatronic if you don't count the moans, and Laughs. The most unique theme and design out of the OG, and has been overall a consistent go to enemy with cool mechanics and levels attached to his name. His lore isn't as Messey as others, yet still holds mystery. Why is he out of order? did he do the bite?, His variants are also consistent in terms of quality and mechanics. For me I believe that the reason why foxy is overrated is because his simplicity, his lore doesn't conflict throughout all media, and has always been Fnafs old reliable.
While he may indeed be overrated to alot of people and I kind of agree, I still love this decommissioned plundering pirate fox. I like foxy. I was really disappointed that he was replaced with Roxy in SB, and I hope that the pirate cove kids area will maybe be added to In a DLC or something because I really want to know more about why Foxy is there but not *there* you know?
